Ritual

Recommended Posts

The, in his opinion, entirely redicioulis and unnecessary garb was finally on. He sat down cross legged by the altar, his face painted, prepared for the ritual. There were probably other ways to contact Lukou, but he recognized that most of the ones that came to mind would piss the god off and not stop the famine. He'd have to come respectfully.

He set himself to the task ahead, waiting for the others to be prepared. He waited for the others to be prepared, calming his mind and preparing himself to form a bridge to the spirit realm and call out to Lukou.

Once the painting was finished, Teelia sat in her appointed spot and smiled at Upae, sure that this would go as planned. She thought of all the people that would be saved, and of how she was going to celebrate by taking Upae to the Ice Cream vendor in the Shimmering Flats. Oh, there would be plenty of the magical cream flowing this evening.....

Upae tried not to scratch at her face. The paint had dried somewhat and there was a terrible itch underneath. Instead she wiggled her cheek and tried to "scratch" from the inside with her tongue.

She watched the troll shaman seated on the altar with a little amusement. He was trying to look all serene and mystical, but she knew that expression barely hidden underneath his layers of paint. He felt silly.

She eased her breathing and waited on pins and needles for.. she knew not what.

Resisting the urge to scratch her own face, Mynikens sat quietly and sketched the Troll with the tail..? "Hmm Well I haven't gotten this close to one before, but I don't think they normally have tails... Maybe I should ask Azrids Mate?" She thought to herself Thinking how silly she looked with paint and feathers. As a distinguished Magi, this was completely unorthodoxed, but the great good was in need of it.

Niethan and Vitusacles took up places on either side of the altar, then moved thier arms into a gesture of supplication and begain a chant, to hopefully ease Zasien's petition to the goddess.

In the evening light, the lighthouse's call beamed out across the plains.

The chanting started, and he reached, calling out across the spirit realm. Calling the Goddess. He asked her to come, to speak to them, to listen to their mortal request from where she sat at the fountains of Zul. How the health and restoration she brought where needed.

Niethan and Vitusacles moved, continuing the chant as they brought the basin around to each member for a draught of the milky concoction. When the members of the alliance had drunk from it they each shared a sip, then brought the quarter-full basin to Zasien. Vitu handed the basin to Niethan and resumed her place at the altar, pupils already dialating.

Niethan pressed the liquid to the shaman, speaking in an undertone. "All of it, Zas. There canna be any left."

What the hell? All of it? They were trying to make him go insane.

He drank it without complaint, not knowing quite what to expect other than hallucinations. Lots of hallucinations. He continued calling across the spirit realm.

Upae took her sip of the liquid. It tasted not as bad as she had expected. In fact, vagely familiar.

She watched as each took their sip, the dwarf with a sour face of course. Upae was certain she could hear him mutter something about Thunderbrew ale.. or something..

Eventually the basin came to the troll seated on the altar, Zasien. He emptied the vessel, tipping it up.

Soon Upae felt a strange almost disembodied feeling in her head.
