Take this: My Love, My Anger, and All of My Sorrow

Recommended Posts

Here's a link to my Deviantart page. There's not much there in the way of recent activity, but I did just update it with my final for my last quarter here at SCAD.

The Eclipse plot line I shoved Tirien into inspired me to edit my first entry into the plot for him and from there I turned it into a four page story.

I might draw more pages about Tirien in the Eclipse, so who knows. Either way, I'll bump this thread whenever I post something new.

Enjoy! Thank you for taking time to view my most inner demons (they aren't bad really).

***EDIT*** When I said "Link" I mean "URL". Go copy/paste it yourselves ya lazies.

Oh my goodness! It's all gorgeous! I love the dynamics! I love seeing a little bit of your process. Ugh. So good.

So I hashed out some quick sketches for how to wrap my mind around the Tauren Male's skull. Got a lot of trial and error and basically had bovine skulls galore on my desktop with a google image search for Tauren up as well. These only took me about 15 minutes to drop down (Ugh. So long. So out of practice.), which is great since I'm about to hit the hay as it were. I'll sleep on it and hopefully it'll make more sense tomorrow.

I'm currently sketching Tauren to get a better grip on larger scale musculature and armor has always been something I enjoy and are two things I can do.

Lemme see about sketching some Orcs after work today. I'll post a photo here for feedback.

Tl;Dr - I have little experience drawing Orcs, moderate drawing armor.

So I tried my hand at some Orc structure. I found it to be a little easier since all Orcs do is fiddle with basic human proportions, mostly emphasizing and downsizing certain aspects across the board (smaller noses, larger jaws for bigger teeth, flatter, longer skulls for more muscle attachment). Overall body structure leans toward being very, very top-heavy going from Blizz's art style so as long as I can work within those boundaries or at least keep some things consistent, Orcs I feel I'll have a better grip on than, say, Tauren which I continue to struggle with.

Just...women in general I don't, in hindsight, draw very much. I assume it's because I am a man and am more knowledgeable about rendering that gender.

Though who knows! I might get a commission calling for a woman. Gotta be prepared :D

Nice, Tirien. I've been looking around at different artists. I have a little project in mind, and I was hunting for a particular style. I really like sketches in the D&D 3e rulebooks, and your stuff is similar. I'll try to shoot you a message later.

I needed to revisit my understanding of anatomy regarding the back and legs, so I spent sometime sketching, erasing, sketching until I figured out how things fit. One thing I know about my process is that it's difficult for me to put skin on things, as 95% of what I draw is more academic rather than creative.

And then applied what I learned to Tauren structure. I feel the glutes could be larger, or at least lower.
