Chat addon suggestion

Needing a little help here since 2.4 hosed the chat...

Anyhow, I used to run Eloquence....not so much for me but because it fixed other peoples chat.

So anyhow anyone have a good idea for an add-on that will do this with the changes.

Please help me I'm too old to learn to read text speak.

P.S. mods move please if it's in the wrong place, again I'm old.

Prat is the chat mod I use.

I don;t know if there is any other mods to change leet speak into normal language. Prat pretties up the chat box and makes it more workable, but it doesn't filter language. You might just have to do what the rest of us do.. look at leet speak and translate it in your head.. or just ignore it.

I may be a sucker for punishment...but I prefer to leave leet speak unaltered...it lets me know who is trying to actually make an effort and speak properly, and who I should pay less attention to.

I know the mod you are talking about.

Have you checked to see if maybe someone is still working on it? Or maybe see if someone else wants to fix it?

I would assume something like that should be a relatively easy fix by someone who knows what they are doing.

If you know for a fact that the mod has been abandoned by it's original scripter, you might try posting in the macro's forum on http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com and see if you can talk someone there into updating it for you :)

I'm pretty sure it's been abandon by the original author since it hasn't been updated in 7 months.

I'm too old to learn to fix it, and it basically still works just get an error every time you zone or log in is all.

Main reason I want it fixed is not because of the leet filter so much as the decompression filter ie "SL" in chat becomes "Shadow Labs", etc, and it automatically dialects people you run into, trolls sound like trolls, dwarfs get a scotts tint etc.

I've been working on my ignore leet/text speak ability, but that center of my brain is currently devoted to filtering out my wife. Not sure if I have more filtering ability left hehe.

But if someone wants to see if they can fix this I'll try to contact the original author to see if I can get permission.
