History:

Tecun remembers little of his early years. The strong hands of his father, who died in a storm while fishing at sea. His mothers friendly face.

But the voices have always been there, speaking to him, comforting him when his mother succumbed to one of the many jungle fevers and guiding him to the shaman when home was lost forever.

Indeed this soon proved to be his greatest gift. While some shaman focussed their learning on communication with the elements, and others trained for combat, Tecun listened to the spirits and let his mind be filled with the knowledge of ages past.

Finishing his studies, he took the position of village shaman at a small island far away from the main darkspear villages. When the murloc raids started this isolation left them vulnerable, but Tecun and a handful of braves successfully defended the island time and time again. In the end though, Vol'jin ordered the island abandoned to sail with him to the Echo Islands.

The history of these islands is known to all members of the horde, and Tecun helped where he could, healing, brewing potions, and enchanting the weapons of the horde's warriors. But when Zalazane betrayed the darkspear and these islands too had to be abandoned, Tecun had a vision.

"If the Darkspear are forced to move a third time, it will be the end of the tribe. Tecun! You must ally yourself to people that would rather die then give an inch. Ally yourself to those that keep these lands safe."

And so the search began. Meeting many bands of adventurers , Tecun did not find what he was looking for till he met Alekander, the General. The defense of all the horde's territories, along with "A new Golden Age" for the Horde, seemed to assure the Darkspear can live without fear of migration forever.

For a while, great things were achieved in the name of Thrall. When the alarms rang after spotting alliance raiding parties, the Vanguard would be there to meet them. In Ashenvale, the tables were being turned with the burning of Astranaar. Sadly, it was not to last...

Thrall's newest treaties with the alliance saw to the disbanding of the Kor'Kron Vanguard. The General was last seen walking into the Desolace, and the Vanguard's soldiers that had not gone home yet gathered in Kargathia Keep. While some advocated following Thrall's order to return home, and a few wished to hang on to the name, Tecun knew that the only way to safeguard the Darkspear now was to follow the ways of the Grim. His furious speech about the worth of promises made by the alliance won others for the same cause.

Many moons have passed since, and with it has come change to Tecun, as well as the Grim. Working his way up to warbringer following the path of vengeance, he's lost sight of most of the old Kor'Kron. Of those, only Remek remains with the Grim.
Meanwhile, with changes in leadership and internal strife, the Grim closed ranks, casting out those who were unworthy. No paths remained, only Grim. As such, he helped out where he could.

Recruited into General Duranor's personal guard brought more connections then ever before, and even greater involvement. Eventually this was rewarded by the position of inquisitor, testing those that claim to be Grim on their dedication to the mandate, and guiding them where they falter. Should Tecun die before the war is over, he'll know there will be others to pick up the Grim banner.

However with the rise of Abric within the ranks, and the Hand recovering from the loss of the vengeance path, Tecun now holds hopes to see the end of the war afterall. The Grim are stepping out of the shadows, and the races of the alliance shall fall, one by one.

How a troll so old and stubborn hobble onto the battlefield as much as he does is nothing soft of a mystery.
His totems bless those of Vengeance often and that makes him alright by me.

((Much <3 for Tec))

Tecun..

I spoke briefly with him while on one of my meetings with the late General.. I remember seeing him fight in defense of Silvermoon.

I have not seen him since.. I'd wager he's still alive, but you never know.

I remember this old guy. We went to blood furnace once. It was really late at night and I think we had fun. I don't remember. But I remember him, yep. Old.

Before he became a fast favorite within the Grim, he was letting younger ones beat on him during my Tournaments. For an old looking thing he can endure some pretty long duels....

I can't hate him at all. How irritating.

He is nice, appears to have wisdom, which is something I lack, and feeds me. And the Sun knows I could use some food besides rations.

However, he says I don't have enough meat on my bones. Rude.

Ah, Tecunuman. Stubborn, wise, loyal to a pinch. I can't think of a more benefitial addition to Vengeance... This troll is someone that is well worth the respect that I give him. A lot of times have passed where I don't think I could carry the weight of this tabard without the influence I get from this old trolls words.

In all of my years upon the battlefield, I have seen few who have mastered the subtleties of the elements and spiritworld as Tecun has. This much was apparent in the battles he has participated in against my Order, as well as our brief duel. I only wish that it had not been cut short just as our powers of Light and lightning wavered on the brink of a balancepoint, for in that very moment when each of our powers were nearly exhausted one of my loyal knights entered unbidden into the fight. She had sensed only that I was in danger, and could not have known the conditions on which I voluntarily sought that confrontation. Even as I sought to call out for her to stand down, Tecun fled from what he believed to have become an uneven fight. It is a greater tragedy still that such admirable compassion of my knight would be the seed that bears the fruit of mistrust in Tecun's eyes.

The description of that fight has already been penned admirably by Tecun's own hand, and so I do not believe it necessary to add to his words. Enclosed below is a copy of his letter recounting the event.

*You turn at the sound of a snarl, and see an elderly Troll coming at you, foaming at the mouth, lightning crackling across his mail suit and a bony finger pointed at your chest*

"Noxtrael! NOXTRAEL YOU SAY!! Let me tell you about him!"

*Calming the old one down, you sit together and listen to his tale*

"It was during an assault on Theramore. With no more then then a dozen soldiers, and only part of us fully trained, we took advantage of our speed, guile and and relative invisibility, by approaching Theramore running across the water. Taken off guard, the defenders were scattered before us, but the Hand knew we should burn what we could and leave fast. If not, the actual size of our "army" would become known, the defence would recover their courage, and we would be swarmed over by superior numbers."

"As we began out withdrawal, a sudden gust of wind cleared the smoke of the burning buildings. Standing amidst a score of knights, flames reflecting in their shining armor, was the Highlord, Noxtrael..."

*Tecun takes a sip of his mead, and frowns*

"Screaming one of the most elaborate curses I have ever heard in my long life, an elf with a particular hatred for humans broke rank, and crashed into this wall of metal. We should have left him there , an -albeit fatal- lesson to respect the Hand's commands, but the instinct to heal is so great, that even Cristok himself turned round to rescue the berserking elf. But we were being led... By the time the elf was capable of coherant thoughts once more, we had entered Jaina's tower. And when we looked up..."

*Tecun shudders*

"The walls were lined with Knights of the Order, each of them starting the incantation to consecrate the tower's perimeter. Holy fire licking at our feet, they then jumped down like one giant fist of metal. Cristok yelled at us to get out to the gate, but blinded by the light and my senses overwhelmed sensing the wounds of us all, I instead ran towards the sea.Followed by a handful of knights, led by Noxtrael himself, I jumped up on the water's surface, certain of escape despite bleeding from several gashes in my mail. And indeed, confronted with the water, wearing all that heavy plate armor, most of the knights halted."

"Not however Noxtrael... Powerful strokes pushed him through the waves, faster then I had thought possible. I quickly set course for an island to ground my totems on,and waited. As he emerged from the waves I sent a bolt of lightning at the man, but it did not hurt him as much as it should have. My loss of blood was obviously taking it's toll."

*Tecun sighs*

"This loss of blood is my only excuse for what happened next. In a better shape then I was, but clearly exhausted by the chase, the man signaled for a pause. To face each other, Man to Troll, fully restored."

*A long pause*

" I should have taken my chances...Should have slain this "Highlord" right then and there or have died in the attempt... Instead, we sat down a distance away of each other, drank, took care of wounds, and patched up armor as best as we could. When we stood again, we were both as ready as we would ever be."

"Circling each other warily, I searched the man's face for emotion, but found none. It mattered not, I was angry enough for the both of us, and with a growl I raised my mace, as the paladin tried to force his blade past my shield. Lightning faced Light , mace crumpled plate and mail was torn many times, and I cannot be sure even now, what the outcome would have been."

"But I had been played for a fool... All at once, and impenetrable barrier went up around the Highlord. And from the sea emerged a second paladin, red faced anger , blasting me with all the power she could muster. Honor indeed.... I should know by now that the word of man stands for nothing. You would think I had learned of Human honor when the Echo Isles came under attack by Proudmoore's fleet, slaughtering men, women and whelps alike."

"The only reason I live to tell the tale, is my leap onto the sea surface. I don't think I ever leapt as far as that, not even in my prime"

*Tecun chuckles at the memory, a smile softening his weary features for a few seconds*

"I don't think the Highlord saw it coming either. When I looked back, there was surprise on his face, and then he started shouting at the female, no doubt blaming her for my escape."

*Tecun empties his tankard, and rises*

"Thank you for the mead, and heed this lesson. No matter how shiny their armor; No matter how flattering their words; No matter how sincere they look, a human cannot be trusted, EVER! There can be no peace, and for every one of them that claims so, know that at least dozen are busy sharpening their swords."

*muttered* "I only hope I can remember that myself next time"

*Shoulders slumped, back bent under the weight of his shield, Tecun walks out of the doorway and into the morningsun*

((I received an ooc apology not 5 minutes after the interference, and ofcourse it was clear already by the lack of being followed and the "gnad ruff gloin" sentences that nox was telling the other not to fight. Just don't say such things to a raging old Troll. ))

"Ah, good ol' Tec. A wise shaman and excellent business partner if I say so myself." Selash says with a smile.

"It's a pity we don't get the chance to drink or socialize much outside of the goblin arenas. An old troll like him could probably hold his booze well."

This troll knows how to cook.

Other than that, I can say he's wise beyond his years - which is saying a lot.

I respect him all the same.
