New to server.. how is RP?

I'm trying to find a new home.. I'm starting from scratch as an ally mage.. and I want to try RP-PVP this time instead of PVP..

I'm hearing mixed reviews.. some say twisted nether is where its at.. others in game say otherwise. how is it?

I think it depends on what you are looking for. I can't speak for those Alliance side but I think it's a nice mix.

I'm looking for a good bit of RP based world pvp events, pvp in general, and a mix of "in the world" roleplay and "guild roleplay"

I'm trying not to add to the blood elf crowd because unfortunately if I had it, thats what I'd probably roll.

There does seem to be quite a mix out there, as Amoola said. Most I've run into are at least RP-friendly even if they don't actively do it themselves.

The top raiding guild also supports several excellent RPers who love to jump into a PVP event with worthy targets. There are dozens of niche groups who are small but really engage their guildmates. I've seen all-NE, all-Human, blood-thirsty PVP, righteous crusaders, hippy peaceniks, and others in between.

Here on TNG, you'll find only a tiny representation of what the Alliance presence is like. Far better to throw out the question in-world chat and see what response you get. If you just want a list of possible games, send me a PM and I'll see what I can drum up for ya.

so far TN is looking like the place to be for rp-pvp.. you guys have the gazette.. and seem to have the most people representing their server. others I have sent messages to seem dried out.

Look on the right of the home page. There is RP support and then RP Groups. Some of those should help a little. :D unfortunately I don't know the websites for all the RP guilds on TN...or I'd add them. :D

I really like the concepts you've got going on for your guild malanori. is it pretty active? that alone may sway me in jumping to TN

I suggest buying BC now actually, both the blood elf and dranei areas are WONDERFUL for leveling up, plus you might want to play an alliance shaman or horde paladin.

TM is very active right now. We're young and small, but we have a good group who are passionate. We're a little bit 'evil' but everyone is their own character. I make a fair bit of trouble for us to fight against. We have a handful of the old original Duskrunners as well. Mainly the men. We have two of the officers from the old DR.

We don't recruit openly as the guild has expressed to the officers they prefer small amounts of quality over massive amounts of what might not be what their looking for. Most have found us be seeing us on the forums or word of mouth. Friends of friends and what not. The officers put alot of effort into making projects and work and creative RP incentives.

There are some excellent RP guilds on alliance side. Despite my misgivings with the DR old and new, I would still recommend them to those looking for a full-immersion/new guild. There are other full-immersion guilds as well. We are NOT full-immersion. We have about a 50/50 split of RP and OOC.

Must get back to Mario Party...lol.

I've decided to join TN regardless of what guild I join though.. 18 replies on 2 threads in 2 different forums vs. 0 replies on any other server I asked about.. speaks volumes in my eyes.

We only had queues right after the holidays. But then Blizz gave folks free transfers off of TN and I guess a good number of folks took them up on that offer. As TN was listed as "Full" or "Closed" for a while there.

But, no problems for a while now so me thinks that issue's done with for now.

Despite not having the time to get out there and make any RP connections (having to re-roll horde on another realm right now due to RL friends) but I have to say everyone on TNG on both sides are great.

But, and I know I'm gonna get a few /slap for saying this, but I kinda regret that I went Alliance on here. Horde side RP really does seem like it's got a high entertainment factor (could just be the TNG biasing my opinon). The idea of SMU I think is really sweet and I'm glad it took off and is thriving.

The Sword of the Morning - Honorable Defenders of Alliance Lands. We do a little of everything. (Contact: Lailinarel)
The Ebon Banner - Disgruntled vets who left the alliance because they felt it wasn't doing enough to protect it's people. Lotsa world pvp. (Contact: Haldren, Daedraug, Lucivare)
Ironforge Regiment - All Dwarf guild, which is always a recipe for fun RP. (Contact: Dahtrugus, Duryea)
House of Arkhel - All Paladin guild - mostly humans. (Contact: Jasonis, Cyrus)
Gnomeregan Tech - Not real familiar with them, they sprung up during my absence, but they seem pretty cool.

BC is worth buying as you level just so you can have Shattrath set to your hearthstone. A portal to every major city is convenient.

Not only to kill, but they need lots of good RPers. The Horde is full of RP, but the Alliance is meh from what I've seen. And if you want to find some guilds, I believe there is a post on the actual TN forums about guilds... I think.
