The druid awoke from a dream. A wonderful dream.

She found herself still wrapped in it, in the arms of a man she had been thinking nonstop of since that night he first kissed her. Llucia smiled up at him, running her fingers lightly down the silly rogue’s cheek so as not to wake him. She slowly sits up, wrapping a sheet around her as she catches a glimpse of her back in a mirror. That ugly, ragged scar, spanning diagonally across her back flashed a memory into the druid’s mind. She squeezed her eyes closed, hoping to shut out the memory. It lingered with her for a moment before her walls were back up and she could breath normally again.

Would he still say I’m pretty if he saw that?

Llucia rolled her eyes at herself as she stands. “Stupid,” she mumbles. She moves from the bed to a desk nearby, lighting a candle and flips through the pages of her journal she had left there earlier on. Blood and grass stained the leather covers, and age had made the leather crumble around the edges. The pages themselves had yellowed around the edges, but the druid’s crisp writing style remained intact.

She finally finds the page she was looking for, only half written on. Ever since she started spending time with this rogue, her journal had been more and more neglected. Not a bad thing in her mind. The left page had a mixture of Darnassian and High Elf script, making Llucia grimace as she looks over it. Scratching out the script would do no good, since she lapsed into it every now and again anyways.

Llucia takes out her quill and inkwell, continuing the thought she left off on.

“He spoke with me about a girl he had loved. A troll huntress. Of which I could not help but point the similarity out between her and myself.”

Llucia grins slightly.

“I’m just thankful he accepted what I was. Not even all I’ve done for the Circle would clear me of this. I would no doubt be killed by Staghelm himself.”

Llucia blushes slightly and shakes her head, angry with herself. Just because he was a good looking man, doesn’t mean she should blush whenever his name is mentioned.

“But Barke…He trusts me. Never would I betray that, so I had to tell him. But he doesn’t know it all. Would he still trust me then?”

Llucia glances sadly at the paper, this time letting her memory take over.

Her first brush with force was not in the defense of her own lands. No, it was the enemy she defended and helped save. She loved that city; it was her second home. The home where her mother lived.

Llucia leans back in her chair, closing her eyes. A tear slowly falls down her cheek as she recalls those days.

Should I have studied the healing arts less to make up for this?

Llucia shakes her head. She hated to second-guess herself. She took this path to avoid fighting. She hated herself for what she thought she would become after defending those people, and so forced that rage down, keeping it in check and never letting it surface again. She kept to that vow, perfecting and excelling in her healing powers, neglecting the druid’s feral nature.

---
It was late in the day when the undead attacked her mother’s home. Llucia was told to return to Moonglade, but she could not leave her mother. She threw herself into the battle, tearing down the undead in her bear form, caught up in a rage that burned brightly and seemed without end. She was aware just enough to notice the difference between her victims and the ones she was defending, though it still made the High Elves move out of her path quickly. She over exerted her energy, though was quickly rescued and taken away from Quel'Thalas into the High Elf’s refuge camp.
---

Llucia shook herself out of the memory.

Is protecting my mother really a justification for defending the enemy of my father’s people? The people who have given me so much and taught me everything I now know. Can I truthfully say I am on the Alliance’s side?

The druid looks down at her journal, seeing everything she wrote in High Elf script. Another tear falls down her cheek as she hears the man in her bed stir. She quickly closes the journal and dries her eyes. She turns in her chair and looks into the half open eyes of her sweet rogue. Llucia smiles at him and returns to his embrace.

“I’ll always keep you happy, Barke.”

He smiles and closes his eyes again, running a hand through her long, dark green hair.

“I’ll always be loyal to you,” she says quietly, and falls asleep once more.
