Redburn

“When one Door closes, another Door opens.” Recites Redburn, as he seals up The Crimson Watch’s last hidden cache of secrets.

As he stands back to make sure there is nothing to betray this cache’s location, Redburn sits and prepares to make a few last notes in his copy of The Book of Chaos concerning the end of an era.

This latest grouping of The Crimson Watch achieved much in its time of activity, but even the sworn servants of The Crimson Lord are not immune to Chaos and Entropy. After the disappearance of Morghoul, this generation’s Master of The Crimson Watch, the membership lost its way. Even the examples set by such members of The Crimson Watch as Sancte, Gornin, Zexra, and Xantheron could not keep the Chaos at bay. All Redburn could do was record for prosperity the slow decay that came over the proud members of TCW.

After updating his history of The Crimson Watch, Redburn chuckles as he remembers the last meeting of The Crimson Watch. “Sancte made such a commotion about how The Crimson Lord had turned his back on us.” muses Redburn. “He always did think more of himself than was good for him.” In the end, Sancte and the others had drifted away from the most sacred tenement of The Crimson Watch.

Stars die, animals die, plants die, you will die (perhaps you have the good fortune of undeath) and gods die. The Crimson Lord may one day be killed, but it matters little. His death would only reaffirm the truth that entropy reigns supreme and not even he may stand in opposition. His purpose is nothing more than to quicken the inescapable truth. The End is a reaper that undoubtedly harvests all. Knowledge of this is knowledge of power. Rest well knowing that any enemy you make will be toppled by the force of entropy no matter what. Ally yourself with that force and you ally yourself with victory! Embrace death, accept bloodshed, revel in carnage and you hasten the ultimate triumph of The End.

Sighing, Redburn opens a portal to Silvermoon City. Stepping thru the portal, Redburn finds himself standing on the Entrance steps to Silvermoon University. “I have spent my existence watching for and recording instances of great Chaos Foci.” Murmers Redburn. “I cannot think of an institution more Chaotic than a college university. They may even teach ME a thing or two.”

As Redburn passes thru the great Entrance Doors, he can be heard saying, “When one Door Closes, another Door opens.”
