At the moment, I'm just investigating on behalf of my guild, Silvermoon University, though not at it's behest. I thought it would be a lot of fun to set up a world PvP nights in some of the various world PvP locations.

At the moment, I'm just considering it as a once-a-month activity depending on the first night's success.

Obviously, the difficulty in setting up such an event is getting both horde and alliance to show up at the same time and the same place. I've mentioned this off-handedly in the guild and I think SMU alone could field a pretty good showing, so all we really need is for some alliance to show up, though I'm sure we'd welcome any horde arrivals.

I've often thought World PvP is the most fun so making it happen on a semi-regular basis would be terrific. So how about it Allies, any of you interested in fighting the horde?

I think for the first night we could start in Hellfire Peninsula and try some of the various other PvP hot-spots from there, both outlands and Azeroth. The bonus to fighting in hellfire would be free marks for anyone that wants a few, so make sure you pick up the daily.

Great idea! I'm totally down for this.

If you want remote, I've seen a large-scale planned clash in Desolace. This works pretty well if you want to let lowbies participate. Otherwise if fighting in Outland then imo it would be Halaa. Nearly everyone can use Halaa marks.

The main issue is scheduling it at such a time as the big RP guilds on the TNG (Sanctuary, The Grim) aren't out raiding. Unfortunately Horde side, I've been seeing a decline in world PvP beyond raiding other cities. There are plenty of people that will come out to the event from both guilds no matter what, but Horde Side has become very Raiding focussed. That's a rant for another time though.

You know me and my guild ( >=D ) will be there.

Just give me a time and place, as long as it's over 9 days from now, I can probably guarantee the Korkron will be there. Shorter than that, though, and I'll have to see if we have anything scheduled already, but I can't cancel anything for this. Nine Days is generally the minimum for how soon I give warning of scheduled events. That's significant because we have raiders in Kara on Saturdays and Tuesdays, and it's not fair to them to cancel one of their raids for World PVP or RP during the same week or close to that week.

Nine days also helps me hype up the event and get turn out over 20+ people. Nine days warning is just kinda fair. That doesn't mean that if it's within nine days I can't get Korkron there, but it won't be a guaranteed significant number. I suggest a Sunday, as I've heard that that's the best day for PVP for the Grim, and that's also pretty true for the Korkron Vanguard.

Sundays do tend to be the best day for the Grim. However even when raiding we have a handful of people that won't be and will drop whatever they're doing to come PvP. Give us enough heads up (week or so) and numbers are usually pretty good.
Raiding Halaa. Yes. Precious. Drinn likes this. 10 resilience gem for hers. Yes.... <scheme>

Of course we need some allies to come play. ^..^

I could throw out Infection here too, but it's becoming stingingly obvious that the horde can field a CRAPTON of people, whereas it might take some more work to see these sort of numbers from the Alliance. Also, this forum does have Alliance activity, which is good, but it isn't as prevelant as the Horde here, so it may not be the best place to try and garner numbers from their side.

However, mucho props for getting world PvP together, it's the best!

I would SO go just for the PvP. I LOVE PvP. I love it to the extent I am thinking of quitting this game because I'm sick of not being ABLE to PvP because of this gear oriented bull shit. I'm about to jump back into my old universe of shooters which is completely "skill" oriented. I of course will keep rping, and will most likely still play non shooters for rp because rp is a part in my life I feel I "need" right now, it gets me out of this bull shit existence of reality... even if only for a moment.

PvP just lets me kill shit and blow steam off... that's ALWAYS awesome.

I *might* (ahem) have a couple alliance vent because I insight pvp with some peoples.
So give me a time and date and I'll tell them to come play.

No. No wai. I'm not back with Sanctuary.

Armory says different. Unless they are screwed up again, or unless the name is nearly identical. What guild are you in?

Ever since I left Sanctuary it's been showing as my guild tag on the Armory, it seems to have an issue with people being guildless after they've been in a guild. But I'd say it just hasn't updated yet.

Okay, so the first World PvP Night is going to be set for March 17th. By popular demand, the first night will be in Halaa, but I intend to have some set in Zangarmarsh, Hellfire and even some of the Azerothian locations.

Next though, I need a headcount for those interested in coming. The one thing we don't want is for the horde to overwhelm the alliance. Thus far it seems like the horde response to alliance seems a rather uneven ratio. So, given a March 17th deadline, how many people do you expect to bring to Halaa and, just for clarity sake, please include whether or not you fight for alliance or horde.

I'm tentatively guessing SMU will field around 15 collegiates and faculty.

I myself am very interested in helping with these 'events', and I just might even PvP..... *chuckles some* Faelen, Horde-side, speaks of interest in attending... and has one favored request to ask! Could you please post the date and time of the event on the Public, Horde and Alliance forums? I know not every one uses them, however I have some events in the works for march, others might too, and I'd hate for them to conflict. *smirks* Seeing as my events are usually on sundays....

Either way, just let me know what I can do to help!
