View Full Version : Need some help with Alliance RP Guilds

There are alot of heavy RP guilds being set up on the alliance side, but I never see them do anything save the Maidens of Elune.
01. Empyrean Dawn
02. Tears of Elune
03. Rooks
04. Ironforge Regiment
05. Red Lyons
06. Thorns and Roses
07. Keepers of Stromgarde
08. House Arkhel
09. House Atheris
10. Swordwaltzers
11. Order of Turalyon
12. Maidens of Elune
Are there anymore RP guilds alliance side?

There's uh.. Sweet Desire.. I heard them recruiting one day. It seems they're sex-centric, so uh.. yeah. There ya go.
And I'd hardly call Maidens of Elune "Heavy RP", the only reason they have for their guild being all female is "lol maidens can't be boys" (actual answer I received upon asking). They do make a lot of events though.

I hate this guild now. I bet Celethorn is glad he's gone too. I know they have a few good members, but I've seen and reported several of their members griefing RPers (Undahill, anyone), and the actions of those people have made the rest of the guild look shitty to an outsider, especially a roleplayer.
Neither I nor Lovely (whenever I play her again) will ever group with any member of this guild unless they change in a drastic way. Caede, and other RPers, I wasn't targeting you. But the actions of a few come down on the whole...ask Zusteakai about that.

Empyrean Dawn shouldn't be considered an RP guild. More-so focused on End-Game raiding than anything else. Their RP channel isn't really worthwhile. It'd be best to just take it off the list, even though there are RP'ers there. *sigh*

Oh, and you didn't hear it from me, but rumor has it that The Swordwaltzers are all Chinese farmers.
I tried to RP with one of them the other day....Kuro-something was her name. All I got was "WTS Refreshing Spring Water X200 800g kk."

I am not an avid roleplayer. Never have been, never will be...im much too competitive a person. My passion is writing, more then anything else thats what drives me, fantasy being a first and foremost in my mind. Thats why I enjoy Warcraft. I love the lore, I love the characters, but what keeps me playing the game is the mechanics. I love pvp. Getting gear, improving my skills, i find it to be fun. And it was with that mentality, the desire to get gear, that we shifted the Blades of Lordaerons focus more into pve.
The main issue of the guild was never a lack of roleplay, but a general laziness. People slacked off, did nothing, helped no one yet asked for things. It was, horrid. After grouping with First Leigon to get our foot into pve, we realized that if we were going to kill the overall attitude of the guild that was dragging us down, we needed to do a lot of major changes...and it was upon my girlfriends advice that i suggested we disband the Blades of Lordaeron, and created a new guild based off of responsiblity. You work hard, you place nice, you be respectful and in turn we yield many fruits.
The guild was supposed to be pve/rp, but thats a difficult thing to do, as many of you may already know. Its the same thing that hit the Crimson Watch, and I believe the same title that Forgotten Leigon holds...if my memory serves correct. Its not easy to do, and in fact, to maintain our stablity in one, we've had to sacrifice a bit much of the other.
Yes, many members within Empyrean Dawn do still role play. Actively. However many do not. Many members still write RP stories, however on the same page...again...many do not. Our focus is split three ways, within the three aspects of this game now, pve/rp/pvp, two of those shining far more then the other...however despite any achievements we may gain its important that all members of Empyrean Dawn follow the guidelines that this guild was based upon.
I cannot say much for the disrespect we may have caused, because if it were not for the lovely Kurohane i would have never known of it...nor this post showing clear dissatisfaction. No, those members may not role play, but that does NOT give them the RIGHT to disrespect yours. I can say nothing for those who do rp questionable dispositions (as I have recieved complaints about Undahill dropping infernals) but any other forms of griefing I will deal with personally, as the new guild leader of Empyrean Dawn. Those members of ours who have left ED have (as i am sure you may have guessed) indeed left for either the lack of roleplay in the atmosphere, or simply because issues have come up in the real world.
So, if a member of ED does so much as /spit on you too many times (cept if you're horde, or smelly) let me know asap, in any form of communication and they'll be dealt with, or removed from the guild alltogether. The most I can say at this time is I apologize, and the actions of the few do not represent the opinions that the rest of us hold. Till then, give me names, and i'll give you as much resolution as I can.

Thank you, Sanrin, for clearing that up.
I'm still ticked at Undahill though. He hasn't been RPing anything, and while griefing our RP he spoke of Richard Simmons, and how RPers were stupid and all kinds of 12 year old nonsense. The reason I brought him up earlier, was that his actions make your entire guild look bad. I know you aren't all bad (I talked with you the other day on the bridge, and I've always liked Caede's stuff as well), but having people like this in your guild is going to make alot of people lose any respect they once had for all of you.
Thank you, though, for addressing this, and I can see your point.

I would hardly consider Rooks an RP guild, let alone a heavy RP guild. They're completely focused on end-game. A handful of their members have FlagRSP, and a few of their members show up to sporadically scheduled once-a-month drinking things. They're really akin to RSPro. A few RPers scattered in the muck of raiders.
Ps. I'm starting a new guild. Who's in? >_>''

First off, I would like to say that I am not condemning, nor defending, the behavior of any member of Empyrean Dawn. The fact of the matter is that I only handled one complaint against a member in the days prior to my departure from ED and was told by that member that he was simply role-playing his character. Far be it from me to ever tell someone what is appropriate RP and what isn't, though I must admit that the OOC disregard for how it effected his fellow players was troublesome to me, as someone who does not feel that my fun is any more important than anyone else's.
With all that said, there has been much debate over why I left Empyrean Dawn. I offer you now, the post I made in on the ED site prior to leaving.
---------------------
The time has come...
Most of you know that I have been with the Blades, and now Empyrean Dawn, since last October and I have been an officer to one degree or another for almost as long.
I have seen this guild through mergers, both smooth and rocky. I was there when we all ran Seras through RFD 10 times a day for a fortnight. I was there for our glory days in world rp/pvp. I was there when we first started running the pre end-game instances and started keying people for Onyxia. I was there when we took our first tentative steps into ZG and later when we first downed Onyxia and then Ragnaros.
Being a part of this guild for so long, and fighting to get us to where we are today, has been an amazing and, yes, often nerve wracking labor of love.
But caring for this guild and its members as much as I do has taken its toll. Somewhere along the way, I stopped doing what I enjoyed in the game and started focusing solely on everyone else's goals.
Don't get me wrong, I get as excited about helping someone else succeed as I do about anything I've ever accomplished. Just ask Cele how elated I was when the Gutgore Ripper dropped for Tsaroth mere hours after I had recommended he go daggers since we had a couple of swords rogues already. Hehe.
But, there comes a time when, as Sanrin once said "...it feels like a job. You lose the most important thing to a GAME... and that is 'option.' You don't feel like you have the 'option' to help, you feel obligated." And, considering the fact that I take the responsibilities of being an officer as seriously as I do, I do not feel that I can reclaim the fun for myself without letting go.
I spoke to Sanrin at length this morning about everything. Where my path may lead from here, etc. Please know that I welcome all of you to contact me if you have questions or just want to talk about things.
I will be leaving an alt in the guild, as well, to stay in touch and continue to maintain the guild forums (permissions, ranks, etc.).
Please know that this is not a decision I have made lightly. In truth, I have been doing a lot of soul searching about it for the past several weeks. I also have rl concerns, as I try to find a new job and such. As I told Sanrin, my shoulders have been so tight over the past week or so that I feel like someone's driven meat hooks into my shoulder blades. >.<
At any rate, I will still be around. I just need to get myself sorted out and find the fun again.
-----------------------
Now. As many of you know I am an avid RPer and have contributed quite a bit of Liadain's storyline here on the TNG. So, after leaving ED I decided to join the Tears of Elune, as they are active in end-game content but have a much more solid focus on maintaining RP. I am truly enjoying getting back to the more esoteric things that make the game fun for -me-.
And, so, that is why I left ED and joined the Tears and I wish all involved the best in their future endeavors.

Bugger. Well thanks for clearing that up...i guess. Of course this was never the intention of the thread. It seems we are losing more RP guilds to end-game than to echelon being general asshats.
Why aren't the Rooks RP? What I find a bit odd about the rooks is that they rarely communicate with the rest of the WoW community - atleast from what I have seen.

Stones bleed! Its true. Reguardless! Do let me know if there is anything I can do for ya. There are a lot of smaller guild that rp, but you dont catch their names because they're not regulars on forums of any sort. Most I could say is jot those names down when they do show up, and contact em to let them know that there IS an organized community.
^.^ communication is the key for anything to flourish, in my opinion.

I'd say, "They should answer that", but the one or two members of their guild registered here only registered here to defend themselves from ganking charges (which were, ultimately, true, in one sense or another).
They're an endgame guild with a few active RPers. Brennach, Electrasyne, a meager few others. Three active RPers do not a Heavy RP guild make. I would consider them light.

Okay Lovely/ Teelia, Now you have enough gutts to call me out about an infernal and how the basis around it is childish and yada yada, now trying to look at it from an RP elitest view you have no fight or right to whine.
Summoning infernals is A: A warlock ability which in great regards rolls around the lore of a warlock. B: summoning infernals sparks RP of all kinds (RP elitests flame in quotes btw when this happens) but the people who are willing to grasp such events on the go are the true roleplayers.
Now a richard simmons comment? I highly doubt it and would like to see a screen shot of this happening, now if it did, instead of whispering me and speaking about it (which im sure one of my buddies was on my character) you instead come to the forums and flame like what you truely are, an RP elitest.
Lets act like adults, instead of confronting one another, since thats the step you wish to take, now I did try to resolve this with Lovely/Teelia, in an adult manner and got put on ignore, maybe I deserved it? who knows.
All I wanna say is all you RP'ers for thinking an infernal is non roleplay, summoned by a creature that is apart of the burning legion, well you need to research your lore.

Too bad, bud. If your "buddy" was on your toon and griefing RPers, you get the flak. The end.
It doesn't fly for ninjaing in an instance, and it doesn't fly for RP griefing. If your buds can't be respectful, don't get all weepy when you have to reap the consequences.

This had nothing to do with an infernal. Not one bit.
This had to do with you talking about Richard Simmons in /say, talking about how RP was stupid in /say, and then mounting on your goat and standing on top of Barke on his steps and acting like a total ass. When you were asked nicely to move, you didn't and you griefed our entire area until I and a few others reported you.
I would do the same thing again.
I didn't even think about it again, until you whispered me tonight and I had to put you on ignore.
As for the "Not sure which of my buddies was on my character" excuse? Who gives a flying shit.....It was your character. Have some responsibility. If you want to make sure things like that happen, make sure your "buddies" don't get on your character. Change your password.
I don't buy that crap.
Summon infernals all day long...Thats fine. I can RP around that. But jumping up and down on people like a 12 year old and being an ass just got you a permanent ignore. Go eat at the kids table.
Love,
Teelia/Lovely

Yeah sorry to say Undahill but since this was not the first rp griefing incident I have seen you a part of and not the first time you have griefed me I cannot take your rp argument seriously. If your buddy was on your toon griefing an rper you are still held accountable for your buddies actions.
This goes back to another incident that happened not long ago. It was not a valid excuse then for the person it won't be for you. I held my tongue quite a bit and if you ask anyone here I tend to be a reasonable person.
But you acted like a kid...and so you will be treated like one.
Daala
06-11-2006, 11:58 PM
Undahill, if you were to do a word-search on Lovely's post, the word Infernal doesn't clock even once. You're trying to alter the argument to something that you can defend, in order to gain better ground out of pure, absolute cloudstuff.
If you want to make up your own argument, then don't try and get other people involved. You want screenshots of you mentioning Simmons? Why don't you give us pictures of your buddy on your account? Or why don't we ride right past the entire "proof" notion, because it's terribly inane.
Lovely says that multiple people reported you. I happen to trust her word, but even if I didn't, then I'd hold their collective judgment above the words of a one-man band.
Now then...in before Move --> Inferno Central!

Quick aside:
Lovely, it wasn't a goat, it was an epic cat mount. Gray, I believe, with the purple jewels.
It sat astride Barke and the person sitting next to him. Didn't even blink until I said he was being reported, then tried to justify it as RP.
If you put your smelly mount's cat butt on me IC, then I'd be stabbing your smelly mount in the neck IC. Too bad I can't really do that.
