History: The eldest child of Lainathion Sunfallen and Andaeriel Skybolt, the scion of the House of Anor'Megil (Sword of the Sun), now depleted by the predations of the Scourge, Faelwen is an accomplished huntress, highly respected by her colleagues among the Farstriders, and a complete disappointment to her mother.

Andaeriel's despair with her only daughter first set in when Faelwen was a child of barely twenty. Rather than study magic with her mother (a former student of the Kirin Tor), she snuck out of the village to follow her father and the other Farstriders on their patrols. As soon as she was large enough to hold a bow, she pestered Lainathion for archery lessons, which he granted over Andaeriel's protests.

The rift between mother and daughter only deepened when Faelwen became old enough to enter formal training with the Farstriders. Andaeriel refused to accept that her daughter was turning her back on her own life's work, but obstinancy is a trait of the House of Anor'Megil, and with Lainathion's support Faelwen won the argument with her mother and completely destroyed any chance of the two women ever building an amicable relationship again

When her brother Morohtar was born, Faelwen hoped that it would ease the situation between herself and her mother. Morohtar showed every inclination towards arcane study. Instead, it only made matters worse, as Andaeriel compared the two children at every opportunity, making clear that she felt her daughter was wasting her life.

When the Scourge attack on Quel'thelas came, Lainathion and Faelwen both answered the Ranger-General's call and threw themselves into Silvermoon's defense. Faelwen survived, being caught up in evacuating the populace, but Lainathion stayed behind, and fell in combat beside Sylvanas Windrunner.

Andaeriel, in her grief, tried to insist that Faelwen leave the Farstriders - the rangers had failed, Silvermoon was destroyed, and with the loss of her husband she panicked, fearing the loss of her daughter as well. Faelwen refused, of course, which was the final straw for Andaeriel, who disowned her completely. Faelwen moved into the Farstrider's barracks as soon as they were rebuilt and has not spoken to her mother since. Her brother has occasionally tried to open the lines of communication between them again, but the siblings argue constantly between themselves about the fate of their society - Morohtar feels the blood elves should close off their lands to the rest of the world and look after themselves, whereas Faelwen believes that only by making true peace with the rest of the races of Azeroth can they survive and prosper again.

On his last visit Morohtar told his sister that he had volunteered to become a Blood Knight, at their mother's urging. Faelwen ordered him to get out, and not return until he had come to his senses.
