Mortica, if you would please talk to me about the next "shindig" I have the PERFECT spot that is litterally miles away from any creatures. it takes alot of swimming, but during one of our meetings in the Nightmare we used it for a meeting. It is quite secluded, not even NPC's. I think it would be great.

There's that island off the Barrens that no-one ever goes to also...

well, after discussing it with the alliance that attended: the abundance of shaman totems, people duelling left and right, and people getting outright attacked, it sounds like we'll be back at Booty Bay next month :(

The little island has plenty of space, and for attackers, have bouncers. And use the "three strikes, your out" method. If someone just hits/charges/sheeps/anything like attacking at all to another player, thats one strike. Three strikes= Dead. Then after words they go back to the one strike method, and the walk from a nearest graveyard to this meeting area is veeeeeeeaaaarrrrryyyy long.
Edit: So long that they have a good amount of time to think "hey, I dont want to do that again"

All that violence seemed to be from The House of Kai beating the snot out of eachother (and Chum).
I think we should give a different locale another shot, but warn them ICly before they start partying that there will be repurcussions for causing a ruckus. I like the three strikes = dead idea.

Abundance of shaman totems? Look, there was only two shamans there, and I only dropped one fire totem, and that was without remembering it would attack alliance even if I wouldn't. The earthbinds that I dropped were just meant to be annoying, and the allaince could have annoyed us back if they felt like it.
((Well it WAS annoying, and it WAS the house of Kai primarily. 'Nuff said on that. Next one's at Booty Bay! ))

I missed it (and will miss all of them as long as they are on sunday at the current time  ) but I have a suggestion for the next one. Even though it sounds like we're going to have it at Booty Bay no matter what.
How about we hold it at...
The Tower of Medivh!!!
/queue's dramatic chord
I know what you're thinking: "Why would we have it there? It's soooooo creepy." And you're right, it is. But it's soooooooo cool looking. Castor likes to go there and farm shards/rp by myself (is it unhealthy to RP alone?). The tower has a decent sized porch, as well as a waterfall just outside the enterance with a little pool to swim in. It's perfect.
Well, that is if you can get passed the fact that it looks extreemly dark and emo.
There's a decent sized area where no mobs patrol (near the pool and up the tower) So our lowbie friends will be safe. Plus it's neutral territory so if you gank, expect to be ganked. Also, it's so out of the way that we don't have to worry about random people ruining it.
Anyway, just a suggestion. I suggest checking it out before exposing how stupid I really am. :o

That sounds like an interesting spot, Castor. I'll have to take a look at it.
Just don't RP with yourself too much. You'll go blind. Er ... something. :)

I agree with safe location. I gave me reasons in another thread so won't repeat them.

I've said my peace on the matter. Its hard to call it a full blown battle when there are 6-7 alliance total. Or how about when it was just me at the party eh?
So if you wanna get uppity about it then yer one less alliance friend down at these things. I have about had it with harassment today. So if yer lookin' to be able to have a punching bad at these parties yer shit outta luck.

I gotta side with Barke here. You guys might think it's cute and funny to hit us with AoEs and crap, but really, it's just obnoxious as f*ck. I wasn't there, but I think I have a pretty good idea of what was going on. A lot of "minor stuff" turns into one big "major stuff".
And no, Zus, not everyone was blaming it on you, but here goes your god complex making it about you. The reason fingers are pointed at you is because you choose to try to set yourself up as a leader. Which means when YOUR people screw up, YOU'RE the one at fault. All of us who have led guilds know and understand this. It requires a level of maturity that you are failing to exhibit here. This isn't a personal attack, more of a recommendation:
Accept responsibility for whatever it is you may have done, and move on.
Morti may have said she didn't care if it turned into a battle, but when so few Alliance are in attendance, with maybe four sixties, tops, it's not really a battle so much of a massacre. And let me inform you, here ~ when we show up in our niceitieieieies, that's -not fun- for us. We don't think it's -hilarious- that you're spamming AoEs and dropping totems. On the other hand, we -are- having any RP we attempt interrupted by Stupid Horde Tricks and saying, "Man, we could be RPing somewhere safe, and having a good time."
I'm the first to admit I wasn't there, and didn't experience it first hand. But when both sides agree on what happened... it's pretty easy to form an opinion.
It's looking like the TNG shindigs are going to start being Horde only, and that's sad. It's a shame that the actions of a few are affecting so many.
I now officially bow out of this topic.
PS. I'm not even going to get started on the "my friend did it" excuse.

Just as a first time attendee to one of these events...
Staring out at a sea of red names was slightly disconcerting.
Being spammed with "playful" attacks, totems and AoEs pretty much had me on edge the entire time. If I wanted to be massacred, I would've had more fun running into the Undercity alone. Ten minutes in I flew out of Tanaris for -anywhere- else.
Sorry, but this event was far from the best First Impression. The next one would have to be in a guarded, neutral city for me to even concider going.

Quite honestly, I had every intention of going, but after I heard that people were being jerks and "play-attacking" us, I figured it was just gonna turn ugly, so I didn't bother.
Zust, you can say you were fooling around OOC, but how is an Alliance supposed to know this? You can't convey "hey man, that time I sent my pet at you was TOTALLY OOC, k?" And it doesn't matter who is at your keyboard...you are responsible for what your character does. If you're in my raid and you ninja something off the main boss then say your girlfriend's best friend's cousin's wife's aunt's sister's neighbor's dog was at your keyboard, tough. Just as you get to answer for your guild's actions, you answer for your own.
I'm with Barke on this. It's not funny. Call me a crying, whining, sobby carebear if you want. This is not listed as a pvp event, and therefore, there should be no attacking. If people can't keep their OOC AoEs in order, then we need guards that will ensure they will.

Quoted for absolute thruth
The above is the reason of why I used to constantly chew your ass off when you were in the Frostwolf Brotherhood and the reason why Grisch did not accept you back into Sanctuary.
Rhowen is saying what I mentioned to you in the Sanctuary forums. When you are a Guild leader the actions of your Guild reflects as much on you as yours does on them. You can't just point the finger at one of your Guildmates and say that it was not your fault. It is your responsability to uphold a standard of behaviour on your Guildmates or you Guild will soon earn a bad reputation.
Everytime one of your Guildmates misbehaves it will reflect directly on you.
You are now the leader Zust so lead.

Besides....what is OOC anything doing at an IC Shindig?
Barke

Thats the point I was trying to bring up. We get mauled by a pet or hit with a totem it causes our characters IC pain. Which we now have to RP and its very very annoying.
I was always under the impression these were IC events so -unless- someone specifically says something is ooc I am going to assume its all IC. Right now Barke is about pissed at the way the party went IC. I'm annoyed that people could not behave for a period of time.

Ok: here's the big question and a cause for much of the consternation here:
Are the shindigs IC, OOC or something else? I tend to view them as semi-IC. If asked, Xeran attended a party where there were Horde members present. That's all he'll remember IC. He doesn't remember seeing Clys there, since he has IC issues with her (but at the party we can /flirt and /dance ... hence the OOC part). Same thing with me stunning MC'd Alliance. IC: Xeran wouldn't do that, OOC: it's funny (or at least I thought so). The reason I go at all is to support TNG and to have fun with other RPers regardless of faction. So if someone drops totems and I get a little singed, no big deal. Xeran, the character, might have gotten upset, but me the player could care less.
My suggestions to those that cause friction at these events (either by violence or by being a general buzzkill) are:
- Relax your IC status to attend without being disruptive or
- Create a new character that can attend peacefully IC. I know that if Xeran gets so wound up that he can't attend, I can still join in on my hunter or my druid (and the clothes I use for RP aren't soul-bound so I can mail them back and forth as needed).
The thing is, I would like to see all the TNG people attend the events even if you have to use alts to do it. I have way to much fun with you guys to want to give up on the parties.
