Maegannon

((This is a side story for the "Something New" plot.. because I couldn't toss out an opportunity for cat fights!))

a knock on the door caused Mae-Mae to sit straight up in bed, breathing heavy, swatting at whatever dark menace she had been beating up in her sleep. It took her a few moments to realize she was awake, and that the knocking wasn't coming from the top of her head.

"MAE ARE YOU IN? ARE YOU AWAKE? HELLOO!?" a loud, muffled voice spoke through the door across the small dorm room. Mae rubbed at her eyes and yawned, launching herself out of bed and pulling a robe on over herself. She reached out and tore open the door, ready to claw the eyeballs out of the face of whomever thought it was alright to be knocking at her door at this time of the morning. It didn't matter that it was well after 2pm to Mae, it was still prime sleeping hours, and the invader would die a horribly painful death filled with..

"Mae! Good, you're up! Are you busy? I need to speak with you. I need some advice!" Pig-tailed Alishondra stood in the doorway, her pale skin and dark lips a stark contrast to the sunshine pouring into the hallway. The pretty Draenei girl was anxious, chewing on her bottem lip and pulling at her pigtails.

Mae blinked the sleepy out of her eyes, "Wha? No I'm not awake, I was sleeping very soundly till you tried to break my door down Ali. Whasamatternow?" she yawned, leaning her forehead against the door.

"Well.. I like this guy, but.. its like he doesn't see me at all, or if he does its like I'm some kind of little child or something... may I come inside?"

Mae tensed. "No.. you'd better not. Its a mess in here and it stinks like dead mana wyrms and other horrible things. Gimmie a few minutes to get dressed and we can go down to the caf' and get a cup of coffee and talk. "

"Well, alright. I will go and get the coffee and a table, then." Alishondra said, pulling away from the door.

Mae smiled at Alishondra as she closed the door. She liked the girl, so she'd try her best to help if she could.

"Who was that at the door?" a deep voice muttered from under the covers of the bed across the room.

"Ali, she's got some kind of crisis that apparently only I can fix." Mae said, crawling back into the bed next to Heidenreich.

"Well, she'll understand if you keep her waiting a few more minutes. I'm not quite through with you yet." He said, pulling the covers over them both.

Alishondra

Alishondra switched from one hoof to the other, chewing on her bottem lip as the door in front of her swung open. There stood a half-asleep Maegannon, her snowy hair disheveled. The expression on the druid's face was one of murder, but Ali ignored it.

"Mae! Good, you are up! Are you very busy? I need some advice!" Ali said excitedly, her tail wiggling involuntarily. Maegannon was a good friend, and the first female she'd ever really trusted to be a friend. Most women were vindictive, evil bitches. Maegannon was just not that kind of person.

It had been nagging at her for ages. She needed advice from a woman who had been married, who knew men better then she, who'd had no experience with them outside kicking their asses in games and sport. Maegannon was mumbing about not being awake, but it didn't exactly sink in. Alishondra was just to distracted.

"Look, I like this.. guy. Yet I do not think he even sees me. He sort of treats me like a child or a sister or, some such. May I come inside?"

Maegannon was yawning, pulling the door closer to her body. "No, you'd better not, it smells horrible and is a mess. I need coffee to think anyway, meet me down at the Caf' in a few minutes and we'll talk."

"Alright, I will go get us a table then" Ali said, giving Maegannon a warm smile. She was going to help, and then maybe Alishondra would know how to tell Grahm how she felt about him. Maegannon seemed to know him pretty well, and Ali had noticed recently that the two were becoming very good friends. Mae would give her good advice.

As the Shaman walked towards the stairwell, she heard a deep voice, and then giggles coming out from the closed door of Maegannon's dorm room. She snickered to herself, "Might be more then a minute. I'm glad to hear she's moving on. Maybe I'll get us a full round of breakfast foods while I wait."

Heidenreich

He felt the bed jolt as the women sleeping next to him sprung up to stop whom ever was knocking at the door. He didn't want to get her in trouble for having an overnight guest with out permission, so Heidenreich decided it was best to just stay under the warm fur blankets that covered the pretty druid's bed. Besides that, he was warm, and he knew the room would be cold if he climbed out of bed. He hated the cold.

Voices floated across the small dorm room, an annoyed Maegannon, and someone else, someone he recognized, but couldn't quite place. Whom ever they were, they sounded anxious, excited, and desperate. He tried not to let himself chuckle, and stuffed his face into the pillow. He knew Mae would be ready to tear out the eyeballs of whom ever this person was for disturbing their slumber.

"No, you'd better not, it smells like dead mana wyrms and other horrible things in here.. I'll meet you at the Caf' in a little while" he heard her saying to the person on the other side of the door. Then the door was closing, and he could smell Maegannon comming back towards him.

"Who was that at the door?" He asked as the covers were pulled away from him and she was climbing back under them.

"Ali. She's got some kind of crisis that only I can solve, apparently." She said, snuggling back down into the warmpth of the bed with him.

He chuckled. Alishondra was like a baby sister, and she always had some kind of delema or crisis. It warmed his heart to know that she looked up to the beautiful woman he'd come to be so very, very fond of. "Well I'm sure she can wait a few more minutes. I'm not finished with you just yet." He said with a grin, wrapping his arms around the pretty druid and pulling her close to him.

Mae yawned, setting down at the table that Alishondra had chosen for them. Waiting for her was a steaming hot cup of.. well.. it was supposed to be coffee, like they sold in Shattarath, but the Gnomes didn't quite have the skill down yet, so it looked and smelled more like light tea.

"Sorry, I didn't quite mean to take as long as I did. Something kept me occupied.." Mae said, trying not to blush.

"No no, it is alright, Maemae, I know you were entertaining a guest. I figured that it would take you a little extra time. In any case, here is my problem. I have.. a friend.. "

"A friend?"

"A male friend, yes. He has been like a big brother to me since we were very small children, always defending me, getting me out of trouble, that kind of thing."

"Except now..?" Mae asked, with a little grin

"Except now, He feels less like a brother and more like, well.. " Alishondra blushed, a sight in itself, because her normal paper-white skin flushed almost to Night Elf Purple standards.

"Like someone you'd like to know A LOT better?" Mae grinned at the girl, trying not to sound to much like her mother.

"Exactly"

"So why don't you just tell him? If you've known him for as long as I think you have, he'll expect honesty from you, and anything less then that will be doing both of yourselves an injustice. "

"Because! I do not want to ruin our friendship, which I know it will if he doesn't feel the same way, and I am not sure he does, he never treats me any differently then he ever has.."

"You'll never know until you try though, Ali."

"I know, I know!" Alishondra sighed, dropping her head to the table surface, her horns clunking against the polished wood.

"So.. Are you goin'a tell me who this mystery man is, or do I have to guess?" Mae rested her head in her hands, propping it up with her elbows on the table.

"No"

"Awe, come on, you call at the middle of the morning to wake me up and ask my advice, and you're not going to even tell me who we're talking about?"

"No."

"Alishondra."

"What? I am just not ready to say his name to other people yet."

"Alishondra, it's me you're talking to. Who am I going to tell?"

"Oh..alright, but you have to promise!"

"I promise on the grave of my dwarven husband, that I will tell no one, soul'd or soulless, the name of your unrequited love." Mae sat up, placing a hand over her heart. "Happy?"

"Yes"

"Good, now spill, before I go insane"

Alishondra took a deep breath. She put her face in her hands and muttered, "Grahm."

Maegannon blinked. Then, to make sure she was still in the same world, she blinked again, "What?"

"Grahm, okay? I feel like an idiot"

Maegannon felt the blood drain out of her face. "Grahm.. Heidenreich?"

"Yes. I know it is stupid, he is a holy knight of the Naruu and is not someone that should be thought of in such ways, but I can not help it." The pigtailed draenei girl kept her hands hiding her face. Mae swallowed hard, and silently thanked Elune that her friend couldn't look at her.

"I'm sorry Ali, I'm late, I need to go. We'll talk more later." Mae was up and running, towards the school as to not give away her secret.

"What? Oh.. Oh..kay...? Alishondra looked up from her, the pretty druid having vanished.
