View Full Version : Haggling for Runecloth

I need approximately 280 stacks of Runecloth. I will pay 3 gold per stack, either COD'd or traded. Or if you want something else to trade, let me know. Need a scoundrel for a storyline? Merchandise delivered to "difficult" destinations?

Faf's your Orc.

You shoulda seen how easy troll rep was when they had Severed Night Elf heads in AV. Because 60% of the Alliance are night elves, I'd be getting HUNDREDS per game, each 10 Rep.

I got Revered 9000 before the change occured. I still have 4 Night Elf Heads in my bank, but I keep them there just to link them to newbies.

I want to know if I can lower my faction with Silvermoon. I'm Exalted with the Horde factions, Revered with the Forsaken.. I certainly find it completely out of character to be anything more than neutral with the fucking elves.

AV turnins are still pretty nice for rep, especially the blood. I'm max exalted with Org and Undercity, and about halfway through revered with the rest right now.

Jebus. Can you grind mobs for Alliance rep? Because I've searched tirelessly, and I haven't found any mobs you can grind for Darkspear.

If anybody has any ideas, besides AV (I'm still 51, and I won't be that guy in AV), to grind Darkspear rep besides Runecloth, I'm open to suggestions.

Doing any quest will also give you secondary rep rewards. For example, say a quest will give you 250 Undercity reputation, it'll also give you like...19ish rep to the other Horde factions. That's just not advertised. This is how AV turnins net you so much faction reputation in the long run (since they took the heads out).

Desolace, which I'm assuming you've done, is good for Troll rep, as well as STV.

The fastest method is still Runecloth turnins. There are no repeatable Darkspear quests (aside from cloth), and no mobs which give Darkspear rep when killing.

It'll be faster and cheaper to find questing nodes centered around trolls. There are a few places, like STV, Desolace, Hinterlands, and of course the starter village for trolls. Do those and you should be most of the way. :)

<-- Exalted with everything but Silvermoon... but halfway to having her own chocobo

Zangarmarsh is loaded with troll rep if you happened to skip out on that zone on your grind to 70. If all else fails grab the black PVP raptor.

Well, the easiest way was during the AQ Gate Hoarding.

Right when the server opened, I had exalted with Orgrimmar and Thunder Bluff in my mid-twenties because EVERYTHING went to them.

Call me a masochist, but I'm trying to get it before I hit 59. Honestly, I'm not sure I'll bring Faf to 70, simply because I enjoy BG's over questing, and I just can't compete with the gear that most 70's already have. I don't have the willpower or time to grind out some arena gear.

That's too easy. Plus I think the orange one is so much more badass.

Yeah, done all those. Runecloth it is for me. Still about 260 stacks short, but I found an excellent grinding spot for cash and runecloth. I'm talking like 3 or 4 drops every other mob along with about 4 silver, and I haven't seen anybody else there in two days. If I rest outside of cities, I won't have any rested XP and should hit it before 59.

Still buying runecloth, if anybody has any to sell. I'll even up the price to 3 gold a stack. Or I'll trade a Happy Fun Rock.

It's a Happy Fun Rock people!

All Horde rep-giving quests award spillover rep equal to one-quarter of the direct rep. For instance, if you received 250 rep at once for Undercity, you also received 62-63 rep for Thunder Bluff. Note that this only works for quests in zones above the two lowest level ones -- i.e. Westfall and Elwynn quests don't award rep for Ironforge, but Redridge Mountains quests do. A good rule of thumb is that once you start questing in "contested" zones you start getting spillover.

Trying to get the mount before 59 I can understand, but if you're planning to not hit 70 because of gear, you should reconsider. With the addition of season 1 gear to the honor vendor, it's become -really- easy to pick up competitive gear, especially considering you enjoy doing battlegrounds. The gear matchmaking system does a decent job of pairing you up with other green/blued out characters as well, so you won't be up against full season 3 premades 24/7. It's not perfect, but it helps. :)

Also, even if you don't get XP for a quest, you still get full rep for it. So, yes, you can do those level 5 quests for full rep credit.

Yep, already done every Troll quest I could find. Ran through BFD solo for the three or so quests there, cleared STV and Desolace and Revantusk. Almost finished Feralas. I still have 7 Really Sticky Glues from a level 5 Troll quest to use on unsuspecting runners.

Oh man, really? I'd forgotten about that. I tried battlegrounds on my 70 Shaman and just got steamrolled. Maybe it was because it was a shaman, but damn. Honestly it's not a big deal to level, but I discovered that battlegrounds at 49 with a hunter were easily 100 times more fun than battlegrounds at 70 with a shaman.

I'm in the process of gearing up an elemental shaman from blues to epics, and it hasn't been too bad. I stuck with AV at the beginning, since I could fire Lightning Bolts out unhindered from the sidelines and still feel productive.

Once I picked up my pvp trinket and two pieces of gladiator gear, I moved on to AB/Eye/WSG, and only rarely came across opposing teams that had significantly better gear than I. It also helps to know a discipline priest buddy to queue up with. Power Infusion and PW:Shield are so damn awesome for elemental shamans. :D

I am surprised sometimes at how much ass I can kick in my season1 PVP gear. I've fought two on one a number of times and came out barely scratched.
And then there are the times that a mace warrior just smacks me down like someone would swat away a fly.

It's not as steamrolly as you might think.

I definitely recommend using AV turn-ins to complete your reputation grind. With runecloth, you're trading time and gold for reputation. With PvP, you're just spending time and you're getting both reputation and honor, which translates to really good gear later down the line. It just seems like an overall better investment.

The downside is that AV queues are currently pushing an hour, so it won't be nearly as easy as it was one month ago when we had short queues.

There's my problem right there. My shaman is enhancement.

Still, PvP with my hunter was soooo much more fun than my shaman. I think I just needed a change.

I might still level Faf up to 70, solely because the honor pvp rewards are so awesome looking. But I will be riding an orange raptor all the way, I tell you. I've got an RP story behind it.

Indeed. It's been quite some time since I did any turn ins at all in AV. I play it a lot, just ignore the armor and blood and whatnot. Which turn ins gain reputation? All of them? If so, I'll be hitting AV in my mid 50's, so I don't gain XP and level up too fast.

All the turn-ins give reputation. Just start the game on defense so you're in the doughpits, killing Alliance by the dozen. Few people bother to loot, so just run around grabbing stuff between assault waves. Hearth back during the last five minutes of the game and turn it all in. Profit.

I'm halfway there at level 55. The good news is I have about a dozen Happy Fun Rocks (does that give away my grinding spot?). Anybody want one? They're fun, I guess, and they make you happy I suppose.

Yep, through Revered, or whatever the step below Exalted is.

May I suggest something.
A great way to farm this stuff is to go to EPL or WPL and just start pwning some scourge. They drop it at a fairy decent rate and at the same time you can get argent dawn rep and pots.

Thank you, but I've got a fantastic grind spot, where the mobs drop 2-4 cloth per kill, plus an average of about 5 silver. Not to mention the potions, two blues, and multitudes of greens I've been racking in.

Basically, they used to be elite, but aren't anymore, but they still drop elite-quality loot. Apparently nobody else farms it, because I've been there for about a week now and haven't seen anybody else.

And I guess I'll just keep my Happy Fun Rocks.
