ooc: I am going to be creating a pirate guild coming up. I intend to create it much like the Brethren Court from Pirate of the Caribbean. A bunch of Captains with their crews, an elected King, my rank would be sorta like the character Kieth Richard plays, untouchable and still involved but it allows the rest of the guild to get more involved and take a stab at leading it. I am hoping someone might have more ideas on how to refine this, possibly even guild names.

The entire idea is to create a heavy RP guild whose main focus is RP. Not PVP, PVE or Raiding first, but RP first. I tried it alliance side when I played over there and it worked well and now I want to give it a go Horde side.

Any ideas at all would be very welcome. Comments, etc. If I am being to vague please let me know and I will post more!

Thank you!

I am an undead warrior if you must know, elves are a waste of space. And actually, its all about RP. try to get past the "what we can and cannot do" phase, think outside the box. To many guilds fail because everyone trys to stick to conventional rules.

If it's just a guild for Pirate RP, why not a gaggle of retired pirates? You could drink, tell stories trying to one-up each other, and occasionally go hijack a ship to relive your glory days.

Hell, I wouldn't restrict it to being a guild. Form a group of retired pirates that gather regardless of their guild tag. I guarantee you'll find a lot more members that way than trying to piece a guild together from it, and you'll get a much stronger collective. I know at least three rogues with pirate backgrounds. All of them kick serious ass, but would not leave their guilds to go play pirate. However, I'm certain they WOULD make time to play pirate.

You could even stay in touch through the game by joining /Yarrr !

Oh, and Emmons, try Q-F-T . You are fined 1,000 internets for not thinking of this.

First off, I'd like to comment that I responded to your identical post in the Lore forums. I would also like to respond to Malebrignon's stating a very true thing; many, including myself, would love to contribute and partake, and have fun with your idea. Not all of us can leave what we have currently, however. Though I really think this can be worked out. For example, if you're really wanting a guild, have your main guild pirate teams, and either have 'hired' help, OR perhaps have one of your 'ships' under the King's command be a 'mixed vessel', housing interested parties from all different guilds. Many ideas and potential ways are possible of making this work to your advantage.

Hehheh, there are some strong pirate forces already on this server. Elrioch's Bloodsail crew, and the infamous Fafnir, for starters. Can't imagine either being the sort to fall in with some kind of court, but there are still plenty of opportunities for us to interact if you do get something formed up. Sounds like fun :D

And yeah, it's much easier to go with a coalition minus the guild tag, I can tell you that from personal experience. Pirates tend to have a mind of their own when it comes to who they're loyal to, eh?
