There's many ways of doing it.
The way I do it is I color green on a different layer then change the layer type.

The way I do it is I color green on a different layer then change the layer type.
I select all of the skin tone, feather it very slightly, copy, paste it into a new layer, then I go to Hue/Saturation and change colors there. Sometimes, I will make another layer above it, with that same selection, except empty, then I will drop a color on there, like brown and then play with the settings/opacity.
