it started after thanksgiving. Their must be a balance between servers as far as population limits. When they make a new server they probably steal free spots form other servers to make a new server.

think of it as you have 5 cups full of water. a red line on the cup is the population size and the top water lvl in the cup is server size limit. A 6th cup is empty and needs water. You put water in the 6th cup form every other cup till all 6 are even. Now the water lvl is closer to the red line which will make the server population "high"


call me crazy, but that's my brainstorm theory in a nut shell :P

shows over the last month. However, it only tracks whether the server was "offline/low/med/high/que" and not relative population (ie, the graph has the same point whether the population was "slightly over high" or "just about to hit que status".

According to a guild mate reading off of some website or other, TN by population is the number one RP-PVP server, the second most populated PVP server, and the fourteenth most populated server of all types. I am not sure if that is just US servers or all servers. No idea how accurate that info is, but it can explain why I had to wait fifteen minutes to log on tonight.

Including myself and my guild, there are alot of new Roleplayers coming to this server. I've also noticed a lot of serious RP guild projects pop up since we launched on December 26. Dusk Runners, for example, is an Alliance guild forming in response to the Korkron Vanguard in February. They've stated that we directly inspired their project.

I'd like to just kick the doubt in the face in this room about all the new players not being RPers. As a general rule of statistics, the same percentage of RPers to Non RPers already on this server probably matches the percentages of new players coming to Twisting Nether.

I hope -someone- understood what I just said.

But yeah I was doing some mediator thing for a alliance friend yesterday and it sucked lol. Caught in que each time I had to switch from horde to alliance. But I'm not stranger to it, coming from a normal RP server that had ques of like 500 at one time before I moved to TN

I know what you mean, I think the more time goes on - the more the Twisitng Nether shines as a beacon for Role Players. It's started to garner quite the reputation if the forums and new guilds are any indication. If the Que times are for a heap of other Role Players? Even Alliance?

The queue only happened to me once, with about like fifty people. I must say, I am surprised by finding more rp nowadays (back when I started, I was a little upset at finding very little for the first couple days). I just wish that I could find more roleplayers out when I'm questing in the world, instead of just in the cities.

I know of plenty guilds that would have you, Aetheril. And I wish I had been able to RP more with you today, but that rogue was on my nerves, so Amariel and I hearthed.

Try The Grim or Blood Moon Rising, or Silvermoon University, maybe? Or maybe the Cartel? I would offer my guild, but its mainly a raiding guild and not everyone is an RPer. But if you want to level fast and participate in that, I could ask my GM about putting you in with us.

Myself, Kovan, Alphaeus, Nymare, Setrema and Qabian are usually online pretty late..and by late I mean 2-5am-ish Sometimes there's no Qabian though. If you hit any one of us up IC I'm sure there is good RP to be had.

Nah, some level 16 rogue that literally spammed Silvermoon for like 6 hours today trying to sell cats. He had a funny and unique approach, until the 500th time when he wouldn't get out of my face. Eventually I had to ask him OOC to get the hell out of my face or be reported. Luckily it worked.

Ah yes, that insane rogue. He actually left me alone far too soon. I was about to have my guy beat him over the head with the flat side of his ranseur and bring him into custody. Now that would have been fun.

He had a way of typing before he gave me enough time to put in a reply, so my rp was thrown a little out of whack. Hopefully I can RP with you again at my full capacity.

And thanks, Lelea, I'll think about it. I'm mainly in for the rp, but leveling help would be nice too, since I'm still a newb at this game. My ideal guild would have some rp involved too, though.

Anywho, since the problem seems to be non-RPers, how about we just start a systematic removal of all non-RPers from the server. If you see someone with a non-RP name, you report them. If someone griefs RP, you report them. Hopefully if we do this right, we can remove the majority of non-RPers and thus get our nice little server back. However, I don't advocated removing all of the non-RPers. Mostly my thought there is, if everyone's an RPer, then we run a good chance of running out of enough people to do a lot of things that require large amounts of people. Personal experience says RPers can be picky about those things.

I saw that they were doing free trnsfers from Emerald Dream to a regular PvP server a while back. Hopefully they will allow this option for TN.

I'm sure a bunch of Non-RPers are getting sick of the queues, too. A good bunch of them would transfer if given the opportunity. (I hope).

Here are two situations, tell me which one is more likely to come to pass:

1. Kick all the roleplayers off the server leaving only the "True-Believers."

2. Hold events to drum up interest in RP, be proactive in trying to involve others, and possibly even groom new Roleplayers.

Now you can tell me that option 1 is more likely than option 2, but you know thats a load of horseshit... "Hey Blizz, would you mind seriously pissing off a major chunk of your playerbase on one server to make a much smaller portion happy?" Get real.

My advice to all of you is to go look at what other servers have to deal with regarding log in queues and what their community is like, versus what we are really lucky to have here on TN.

Honestly, queue times are irritating, but if we get free server transfers for the "I didn't know what RP meant but I rolled here anyway and now I'm going to QQ about it because my parents won't pay for a transfer to a real server", this might be an awesome thing.

Here's a not-so-secret-secret.... The ten people I rolled on TN with were here to see how fast we could level with the sole intention of killing RP'ers and getting someone to write a story about how badass we were.

Then I somehow managed to get in Imperium Lux and really liked the people, even though they told me not to spam channels with LOL and /Guild chat was in character... Fynne, Jilliane, Pathos, Mesmir, Lell, Silanthras, and Cerse all made sure that I toed the line and got me VERY interested in how RP was done.

Now I'm not a diehard roleplayer like some of you, but I initiate in participate in spontaneous RP with strangers all the damn time (when I'm not getting my face kicked in by demons and stuff).
