I'm trying to figure out what my best options are for armor
should I:
a. Go after the complete sc set
-or-
b. do some combo of sc and stormshroud
-or-
c. some better option that a wiser person than I comes up with.

Depends on your style, your spec, and your focus (PvE/PvP)

Get Rank 10 Set.

I'm a CB/prep build. The pvp set is probably most realistic for me - I'm broke and in a small guild :)

Even Rank 8 will get you 4 very nice blues. I'm currently 2 SC with 4 PVP blues. I do have the stormshroud shoulders they are really only the good piece of that set. With Rogues you want as much Stamina and Agility as you can get. I don't think the Stormshroud set offers any of that, just heavy armor and heavy hitting (AP and CS%) and it's very expensive.

What's really good is the two piece Devilsaur set. I have the gloves in the bank, waiting on the pants for the sweet two set bonues. On the other hand I have the SC gloves in the bank also, so if i can get another SC piece I will have that 4pc bonus.

If I were to rank the sets, I would put Stormshroud at the bottom...PVP at top and Shadowcraft 2nd, but Shadowcraft set is so hard to get if you're not in a big guild, because you'll be spamming LFG most the time.

Mix in the Devilsaur if you can, get honored in Warsong for the ring and necklace. Get exalted in AV for the weapons and ring. I know I kind of bounced around a bit...but those are my random thoughts.

Barke and I are guildless, and often running Strat, Scholo, and the BRS pair. We have healer, mage, and warlock friends. Look us up.

I think we both might personally be done with Scholo, but we have a lot of friends who still need stuff out of it, and if asked, we're still looking to beat our record time of 50 minutes start to Gandling down. ^_~

(This is in response to Jezz's comment that SC is hard to get unless you're in a big guild.)

Sounds good I might take you up on that Rho.

Which piece should I go for on the ST rogue quest? I like the ebon mask the best, but I hear it gets replaced too fast (hopefully) by endgame stuff.

As nice as the devilsaur stuff is I may end up passing up on it due to my annoying need to look like I somewhat match - sc, ss, and the pvp go together a bit better than the bright red.

...And that is why I'll never be l33t.

Honestly...thats why I like my SC and Cadaverous combo. It somewhat matches.

As for the ST quest I went with the mask. Used that until the eye of rend dropped for me.

I picked the ebon mask too. Surprisingly, I came across a ghostshroud drop at the sevens in BRD. ...And I won the roll. So my Ebon mask only really lasted for about 3-4 levels.

And man was that a nasty rogue quest. I spent two hours killing those dang slimey's, just make sure you pickpocket them before you kill them, you can get the quest items that way also.

If you are a fashion conscious rogue, I wouldn't recommend the PVP gear then 'cause I look like a grape. Although the few SC pieces I have do add a little bit of blue, so more of a very ripe blueberry i guess. Anyways. I would recommend getting the ShadowCraft set anyways, cause you can upgrade that armor through some rather annoying quests I recently found out. I just picked up a quest in Thrall's quarters to upgrade my SC bracers.

But do remember that with the next patch, the PVP gear is getting a very nice boost in stats. I'll be buying the new stuff as soon as the patch comes out....it's that good.

...didn't know you could pickpocket the oozes...took me about 4 hours to do that quest :P

Heh heh. Considering oozes and slimes and stuff don't have pockets, I don't want to think about where I'm sticking my hand when I pickpocket them. :D

Going to cash in the quest tonight. My little guilds that could brethren did a great job last night in our first ST run.

Part of me really wants to get the cape and go bet people whether I'll survuve a fall for money
