Sitting at the table with Najme, Laron had ordered bacon and eggs, with toast. She stared at him with a look of wonder. "You didn't tell me you were married," she said with disdain. "I'm so sorry..." She leaned in and whispered quietly, strands of black hair falling over one eye. "Who was she? What was she like? If you don't mind my asking, that is... I don't want to get into anything that makes you uncomfortable."

Leaning back in his chair, he is not completely comfortable with talking about her. “Where do I start? I was really young, two hundred and six, I thought I was ready for life outside of the tree, and met her on my fist trip to Goldshire. Her name was Brianne. She had the cutest short blonde hair, and freckles. She was nothing compared to the woman you are… She was a farm girl, content with staying at home and baking the most wonderful breads. Very simple in her ways, and I never told her of my ways of life… She believed I was in the military. It made prolong stays away… Explainable. Not that I wanted to deceive her, but most farm hands wouldn’t understand that there is a whole other world, outside the law…"

Najme raised an eyebrow. It wasn't as tweezed as she would have liked, but life on the road made grooming a commodity, and she had to settle for her unruly curls to cover anything that might have been unattractive.

"So wait a second, you're telling me that you were married to another human before me? That's some track record, there" she said, picking up a piece of bread. She took up a butter knife, and spread the golden mixture of milk fat and honey on her breakfast before putting it between her thick dark lips.

Chewing with her mouth closed, she swallowed down the first bite quickly. "Did you keep staying away for long periods of time after you were married? Or did you stay with her?"

Blushing, Laron says “I always have been partial to humans, especially ones with spirit.”

Sensing the sound of concern in her voice, Laron sets his hand on hers.

“As I said, I was young. I craved adventure and riches. Depending on the job, I did stay out for a month some times. Brianne was a simple woman, she wanted no part of that kind of life. She had never held a sword, never taken a life, and war had not touched her. For the fist twenty years or so I would go off and do jobs, and come back to open arms, but her health started to fade, as she got older, and I took less and less jobs. We had a house by a lake in Red Ridge, and as time went on, I stayed with her most of the time.”

Laron smiled and said, chuckling.

“She would wear through a broom once a month… She always wanted the house clean, and would make me take my boots off, out side. Her hair had turned to a soft white, and the blue in her eyes had dulled, but I was older by then and started to get used to home life. She was sixty four when she died, peacefully in our bed. I had known her time was coming, so I stayed home with her most of the time. I laid her spirit to rest almost ninety years ago. That is why I usually don't speak of her."

Looking back at Najme, Laron smiles and said “Is that what you wanted to know?”

Najme leaned back in her chair, thoughts running through her mind. His story wasn't what disturbed her, it was how little it seemed to effect him. While she knew he must have loved this woman, he clearly had no qualms about seeing the life fade away from another loved one.

"Yes. I guess if you met her at two hundred and six... she died ninety years ago, at the age of sixty four..." She began tracing numbers in her hand, adding and subtracting until she came up with a plausable answer. "...you're around three hundred and forty five years old, then? Give or take?"

She shook her head in disbelief. "Well... that's something. I'm only twenty, and I don't exactly have a peaceful life. Do you think we're tempting fate, here?"

Okay here is the break down, she was 16 when I married her, people got married at that age... And she died 48 years later. I was 254 when she died and I am 341 as of now. So she died 87 years ago. Hope that helps.. =o)

“Hmm. Very good my dear. As of this season, I am three hundred and forty one. You sure you want to get evolved with such an old man… Heh.”

Smiling at her, he brushes her hair to the side. “Please don’t think I am comparing you to her. It has been so long ago since her passing, that is why I haven’t mentioned her. I have had many women in my days, lost quite a few to war, but when I thought I had lost you, I felt horrid, worse than when Brianne died. I know that I will probably have to put you to rest as well, but if I let things like that weigh on my heart, I would never have love in my life. Well.. aside from my first love.” Grinning at Najme, who is trying to eat breakfast, he leans in to kiss her on the forehead. “Hehe, besides, with as dangerous as your life seems to be, I might not live that long…”

Vilmah

Najme smirked. "You know, this topic has evolved into something really morbid... I don't plan on dying any time soon, and niether should you. As for the age issue..."

She picked up a cup of water, and looked inside. Twisting her mouth to one side in thought, she looked back up and smiled. "I don't have a problem being with someone older. Goodness knows I never had much of a choice before, but now that I do, I like the idea of someone experienced in the ways of the world."

She took a sip from the water, then gave him a questioning look. In the back of her head, she was already laughing at her own ridiculous inquiry.

"Speaking of which... just how many women have you been involved with?"

Laron
05-24-2006, 03:36 PM
Laron’s <Sense Trap> starts to tingle… Smirking, Laron asks “Involved with long term, or been with?” Holding his best seductive smile, he says “I have had many lovers, but only a few long term relationships. After the passing of my first wife, I didn’t want to be attached to anyone, it almost seemed to dishonor her memory.” Shifting the conversation, Laron smiles and says “So what about you my dear? I know about before, but how many have you been with willingly?”

Vilmah
05-24-2006, 03:43 PM
Najme laughed a little.

"Well, you're a master at evasive manuevers... actually I've never been with anyone willingly, before."

She shrugged and shook her head. "There weren't many to pick from, on our boat... just old men--, no offense," she said with a wink. "I was seventeen when I was taken by the goblins and their men, so my only experience has been... well... you know. And with you, of course."

She picked a grape from the bowl at their table, and looked it over as she spoke. "As much as I'd like to, I can't really find it within myself to hate the Horde. Not all of them were cruel, just the select few. Some of them were actually pretty nice, but you can imagine how they thought of me."

She put the grape in her mouth and chewed.

With a perplexed look on his face, Laron asks “But I thought you and that Orc…what was her name… Vilmah? I thought you and her were… close?” He tries not to blush too much. “The closest I have ever been to a female of the Horde was the one time with a Tauren, but that didn’t go anywhere.” Rubbing his neck, he still bared the scar from her. “I don’t really have any love for the Horde, but I also don’t bare any hatred. Speaking of which, have you heard from Vilmah recently? She was concerned with your well being, so much as to talk to an Elf…”

Smiling with a sly look in his eyes, he says “And yes, I am a master of evasion. It’s my job…”

Vilmah

Najme looked at Laron with disbelief.

"You're kidding, right?" She gave a chuckle. "Oh, my goodness! Vilmah was just a lonely little thing. All she wanted was a friend. I can't believe you thought we... oh, wow..."

She shook her head, and continued to laugh at the idea. "That girl has enough romantic attention from evryone else. Believe me, that sort of thing is the last thing on her mind... and yes. We've been keeping in touch quite a bit."

Laron
05-25-2006, 12:56 AM
"Oh? I thought that was how she met you, she was a customer... Well don't I feel silly now... Not that I would think any less of you if it were the case, but I shouldn't have assumed."

His face tunring a deep purple as he blushed. Sighing Laron says,"I guess that is a good thing right? I mean it would be a little akward if she was to be romantically interested in you. With you and I anyways... I mean..." Laron shuts his mouth and decides to quit while he is behind... Frantically he put a bite of eggs in his mouth as not to blurt out another ramble of thoughts, and tries to smile.

Vilmah

Najme surpressed her laughing as best as she could, by drinking water. However at some point or another, she had to pud her glass down to laugh and speak again.

"Really, you mean... you all seem to think the same thing. You know, all of my male customers thought the same thing?" She shook her head. "It's really very funny. I'm glad I could teach an old dog like you new tricks."

She picked up a grape, and was about to put it in her mouth when she raised an eyebrow at him. "Incedentally... what wouls you have done if she actually was romantically interested in me?"

Laron
05-25-2006, 10:27 AM
Swallowing his bite of food, Laron thinks about the question for a while. He finally leans forward and says, “Hmm that’s a tough one. I guess if she really wanted you, I would have to share you with her. She did help me spring you from that place, and I couldn’t have done it without her help. So I owe her a debt of gratitude.” Bringing his napkin to his mouth, dabbing the sides, he sits back in his chair finished with his breakfast. “Now let me ask you, what would have done if she wanted you for herself?” Laron realizes what she had said earlier, and has a confused look on his face. “I’m not old… Most of us don’t even leave home till they are at least three hundred.” Smiling at her he wonders if she know just how much he has grown fond of her.

Vilmah
05-25-2006, 01:34 PM
Najme shrugged. "Truth be told, I don't know. I've never been intimate with a female, before. I'm not sure if I could be romantically involved with one, either. Which is strange, considering how much I hated men for a while..."

She picked up another grape, and thought back. "Well, except for maybe my father. I never hated him. He's the one that wanted me to become a Paladin in the first place; so I wouldn't have to spend the rest of my life on a smelly old boat. He taught me about the Light and it's principals and..."

Najme looked up at Laron, and studied him for a minute. "You know, maybe thats why I took a liking to you. You sort of remind me of him. In a lavander skinned eight feet tall, sort of way."

Laron
05-25-2006, 03:05 PM
Giggling, Laron looked at her, and did his best impression of a father… “You know young lady, I’m not sure I would approve of you gallivanting around with a Thief…” Loosing his straight face, Laron bust into laughter.

“Would you introduce me to him? If he was around?” Laron thinks about his siblings, and weither or not he should introduce her to them, since his own parents were no longer living? “Did you have any brothers or sisters? I have one of each. Though my brother, you probably will never get to meet. We don’t see eye to eye.”

Picking a grape from the bunch, he slowly feeds it to Najme, and brushes his hand along her cheek. “My sister on the other hand… She would like you.”

Vilmah
05-25-2006, 03:31 PM
Najme shook her head. "Nah... he died when were were attacked by pirates. Him and half of the crew. Don't know what happened to the other half, and as for me gallivanting with a thief, well..."

She raised an eyebrow at him. "How about you gallivanting with a human, hm?"

(By all means, :D where are we again? Goldshire I think... no inns in Westfall.))

Laron
05-25-2006, 04:32 PM
Showing concern, Laron holds her hand, and says “I’m sorry you lost your father. But would you have introduced me if he hadn’t?”

He smiles and continues

“Oh my people don’t really look well on spending time with Humans, they feel your kind are too destructive, and unpredictable. I, on the other hand, have lived with humans for a very long time and really do not care about what my “People” think.”
Chuckling he says

“My father would be mad, but he respected my decision when I brought my first wife to meet him. I was his eldest son, after all.”

Ayrn
05-25-2006, 05:10 PM
Ayrn enters the Inn at Goldshire, and looks around warily. So many humans. He spies a nightelf sitting at a table with a young-looking woman. They seem to be having a friendly conversation. Suddenly the elf picks up a grape and feeds it to the young woman. Ayrn wonders if this is some kind of a cultural thing.

He takes a seat at a table nearby, and orders a drink, turning his chair a bit so that he can watch the two. On his chest he wears a tabard, red, with a golden two-headed snake. On his finger is a ring with a crest, a silver shield with a black nightsaber.

Laron
05-25-2006, 06:08 PM
While talking with Najme, Laron hears a person come in and sit down next to their table. A Night Elf, who seems to stick out in the crowd of Humans. Though he is enjoying his time with Najme, he also knows what it is like to feel like a foreigner. He asks her “Would you mind if he joins us?” Gesturing his head to the newcomer. After a nod from Najme, Laron says to the Night Elf “There is room at our table if you want to join us friend.”

Ayrn
05-25-2006, 06:24 PM
Ayrn smiles and nods at Laron, happy to see a friendly face. He glances at the grapes as he moves to Laron's table.

"Well met, brother. I'm Ayrn Isto'Halrathn, druid. I'm new to Goldshire. It's nice of you to extend the hand of friendship. What brings you to this part of the lands?"

Laron
05-25-2006, 06:50 PM
Laron nods and smiles, making sure to not show any traditional Elven Formalities. Instead he does just as Ayrn had suggested, and extends his hand for a firm Human handshake. “Aryn, Is it? This is my… Lady Najme Montoya.” Gesturing with an open upturned hand toward Najme. “My name is Laron Ravenshank. I was just about to ask you that very thing.” With a smile Laron says “I actually have lived in this region for quite some time.” Sitting after Najme is seated again, Laron asks “Have you eaten this morn? We seem to have gotten up late, and are just finishing up our breakfast.”

Vilmah
05-26-2006, 07:06 AM
Najme seemed slightly lost amongst the two elves. In the back of her mind, she admired them for their physiques and manners... but the first thought that sprung to mind as she saw the druid was, Now -that- is an impressive moustache.

She picked up the bowl of grapes, and held it in the direction of Aryn. "Be nice if you could join us. Where you from?"

Laron
05-26-2006, 01:07 PM
Sitting back in his chair, Laron nods towards Ayrn, and says “See, we can grow facial hair, it just takes us longer.” Turning to Aryn, he asks “How long did it take you to grow such a nice moustache?” Rubbing his own face, he gives Najme a smile. “You did a good job. Thank you my dear.” Turning back to Ayrn “A Druid huh? My sister chose to take that life style. She seems to like it.”

Laron
05-31-2006, 02:59 PM
As he turns back to Ayrn he notices he has fallen a sleep. “Poor guy must have been a long trip for him.” He says softly “So My Dear, where should we head off to today? Any place you want to visit? Maybe go play in the snow?

"Play in the snow?" She looked at him skeptically. "Where?"

"Yes, that was where I was taking you before the attack on Menethil Harbor. Thought the trip will be much shorter now that we are by Stormwind." Smiling at her he wonders if she has ever been in snow.

"Hmm... sounds nice! I thought you'd be busy with work or something."
Chuckling, Laron says, I am what you would call a free agent. I only work when I need the money, and SI:7 doesn't call on my services too often. So can I assume that you have never ridden the Deep Forge Tram?" Standing up from the table, Laron offers his hand to help her out of her chair.
