What do you like about your class?
Every class has 3 different trees and different styles of play, but what do you enjoy about the class you play and what role do you fulfill that you like the very most?
- - - - - - - -
I love being a Protection Warrior.
There's a few alts I have that are fun, Kaldore has a decent gear set for PVE DPS, and even a nice PVP weapon, but nothing in the game that I've done so far compares to how much I like being a Tank.
- Staring up at a 30 foot monster, knowing you're the one that has to hold the line against him or he'll oneshot anyone else.
- Controlling five, six, even ten enemies so that your casters can AOE them without dying.
- Watching a loose mob head over to someone in your party, but right before they can even land one hit you've intervened and taunted the mob safely back onto you.

My Protection Warrior:
Knowing that if I screw up, I could cause a raid wipe.
My Holy Priest:
Knowing that if I screw up, I could cause a raid wipe.
My POM/Pyro Mage/Marksman Huntard:
Knowing that if I screw up, I could cause a raid wipe.
But seriously; I love tanking, healing and DPSing. Just too three out of my four toons are on a PvE server and on the alliance side. The server is basically dead to me.

I love the solo-ability of a hunter. I honestly enjoy mindless farming for hours on end, and I love the feeling of free exploration being a hunter gives because I know I can go -anywhere- and odds are, I'll survive it.

Affliction lock:
I love drain-tanking. I love the fact that I almost -never- have to stop to eat and drink. I love when I aggro when I'm low on health/mana and I have to lifetap and get a tick of drain life off otherwise the mob will kill me. I love always having a potion on hand (healthstone) and being able to self-rez once a half-hour. I love using my eye of kilrogg to scope things out. I love fearlocking someone, draining my pet of all their mana and then quick summoning a replacement more appropriate to the situation. I love seed-of corruptioning alliance and using it to clear low level instances.
Mage:
I love blink, frost nova, blast wave. I love kiting melee classes and counter-spelling casters. I love how fragile I am, it keeps me on my toes. I love playing defense in WSG and racking up flag returns. Also, proting to every major city is a great time-saver.
Hunter:
I love feign death. I love throwing a trap into a swirlling melee. I love snagging aggro off the healers and squishies and pulling the mobs into my traps. I LOVE kiting things. I love the speed of leveling and having my own personal tank. I love how the new hunter's mark looks. I love tracking in both PvE and PvP. I love eagle eye and eyes of the beast.
Paladin:
I haven't played this class very much, but so far I love how survivable I am. I love being able to heal myself. I love moving 15% faster ;) I tanked for the first time the other day and I loved it. I love the skimpy mail armor, and the skimpy plate when I hit 40. I like being melee for a change.

Well I use to be a Marksman hunter before switching to a support class but I realy find that I work well as a support class then any other. I use to love shooting my bow standing back and only thing I even had to worry about was keeping my wolf back howling for each shot and doing as much dmg as I could. But...
- - - - -
I <3 being a paladin or anything that can heal.
I blame Guild Wars the first game that I ever played a support class healer. Of course the tank role I do well at too and its just a amzing shot of adenaline for the reasons you have stated Kal. But the thing with me is always if I play a dps class after being a healer I get that lack of trust for the healer. Like pin pointing flaws or think, man I could do better, or seeing someones health drop and unable to do anything. Things I like:
-just controling the fight by keeping people alive
-making it through a tough situation healing through and going OMG! (Faelan and I 2 maned Ikiss in Seth from 30% or lower percent to dead now that was awesome)
-PvP situations too where you plant yourself right in the fight keeping everyone around you alive and seeing the opposition either notice you are diminish cause they can't get anyone.
-All around having a nack for the role, maybe fast reactions or something, quick descions skills on who to keep up. (Even though screw ups still happen or thigns are happening to fast to react do to game casting time)
Paladin is just fun, being a endurance healer and wearing plate armor is a plus for me! I don't like not having plate armor ><

Yeah, when I played a Hunter before these were two of my favorite abillities! Really under used by a lot of people, too bad there's not more occasions any longer like pulling Shazzrah and Geddon in MC.

Rogue:
I love combat. I love being able to dish out a metric ass-tonne of DPS, and I love being able to, once every five minutes or so, fight any five mobs of my level. I love stealthing in and playing "Hitman" in my head. I love pickpocketing.
Priest:
I love healing for instances (less so for raids). I love being able to keep one or two people alive when they're being wailed on, knowing that my job is done, and if everyone else does theirs, someone or something utterly loses because it can't stop focusing on the tank, and it can't manage to bring the bastard down.
Warrior:
I never goddamned die. It takes me eight hours to kill anything in world PvE, and I'm useless in PvP as it stands, but MAN, I never die ever. Also, Kang the Decapitator.

Oh god, I get so angry at the Tank when I ran instances with my Rogue!
My internal dialogue: "Ok, wait until 95% before autoattacking and use Feint everytime it's up... 80% start the SS/SND/Rupture rotation and keep using Feint everytime it's up... OH SHIT! 60% I HAVE AGGRO! WTF!!! WHY GOD, WHY?!?!?"

Yeah, I have the same issues when I'm running with classes I've played. Not that I was/am particulalry good on any of them, and I make just as many mistakes as anyone else. But it's easy to nitpick when it's not you behind the controls.
I forget to re-soulstone the priest for a few minutes? Oops.
Someone else does? God, why can't they get their shit together?! ;)

I just love it, with all its little finicky tricks that I think I'm going to be learning how to use for a long time coming. I've spent years doing tank/healer in MMOs, and now I'm out. Magery hits a nice balance between the constant feeling of "Oh crap oh crap oh crap" that was tanking and the "Yaaaaawn, so very sleepy--AGH!" spike-panic that is healing. I'm never allowed to sit on my ass and fall asleep as a mage, waiting for the 'holy shit' moment that is no doubt just around the corner, but at the same time, if I have to scratch my nose, I can do that without everyone dying as a result.
Someday I'm gonna play with specs other than deep fire. Someday. But for now, it makes me happy. And that's all I ask.

Warrior: High Health and Armor means it takes a while to kill me, plus I have a few little tricks being a troll. Also, Seeing a mob going towards a healer, Intercept, Taunt, Kil
Rogue: This innate ability to just rip things to shreds, then fade back to the shadows, Anon is insane.
Shaman:...Dunno, I've fallen out of love with the class, but tchain healing the group keeping all the DPS up is pretty cool

As a warrior, I just feel I have a great deal of versatility. I can fulfill several different roles, if I'm just willing to pay the respec cost every once in a while. So, I may not be able to heal, but I'm still glad I'm able to tank, deal good raid DPS, and be a monstrous PvP beast when I want to.
As a mage, I have to say, being a pyromaniac is fun.
Druid, it's entertaining to have animal forms. It comes with similar versatility as a warrior (a little moreso, since druids can also be healers and caster DPS), so, after being one for so long, it makes sense why I'm comfortable playing one.

Rogue - Stealth. Need I say more?
Mace Rogue - Oh, you wanted to cast or take a step, poor caster? Sorry, no. I just cannot let that happen.
Mage - On top of the fun little tricks like mana drinks for everyone and creating sheep for all the lonely farmers, the ability to rain down death and devastation on 8 mobs at once is supreme. Doing it with two other mages...priceless.
Hunter - Go anywhere, do anything, and somehow come out ahead. With my own personal tank and the ability to play-dead things rarely go so wrong than I cannot recover.
The only classes I have a hard time playing are the hybrids. I never settle into playing one aspect or another and just get muddled in the middle.

I think I've said it before.
I don't much like my druid. I never -really- have ;p
I liked my mage. Scratch that, I LOVED my mage. Being able to aoe your ass, while running circles, freezing you in place, runnin the hell away from you, and then frostbolt/firebolt/fireblast you till you get close enough to frost nova and do it all over again..
Mmm... mages.
I shall forever mourn the day I decided to move her to a PVE server. Now she sits and rots in a place I cannot use her ;/
There goes all my plans for transfering her to TN to harrass Abric with!

I say level another Mage.
There's almost no way that you couldn't hit 60 in a month by playing a couple hours a day just questing. I've been very casually levelling my Warlock whenever I get a minute and got him to 26 before 2.3 released... Since then I've played him in my limited downtime and he's 35 now.
O.O
It's honestly a little ridiculous.

Holy Priest: Hearing "HEAL ME, FOR THE LOVE OF....shit Lel, didn't need 6k."
Arms Warrior: Wade in swinging, and knowing there's more than cloth covering my ass.
Beastmaster Hunter: Telling my pet to sick'em, then opening fire.
Demonology Warlock: Telling my minion to sick'em, then cursing the bejeezus out of the poor sap...and Life Tap.
And my little Fire Mage:

I love being able to heal, even if I get aggro somehow and a mob is beating on me. I love that I'm very hard to kill, and that my job is to keep the health bars green. People don't often realize that healing is a very challenging job in itself, especially if your paty doesn't support the tank correctly.
And the skimpy armor I had for a while was cool too.

For mage I love Fire. It's just the most fun spec out of the elemental specs I've tried (I hear that arcane is awesome but... no BOOM BOOM!). I love my selected sheep rotation - turtle, pig, sheep, mix it up. I have a macro to randomise it, but I enjoy it too freaking much just picking, "Who do you want to be today? Oink oink!" I love scorch. It really is my most favourite spell.
I think I like being a DPSer who is making it easier for other people in the group to kick some ass -- if they're capable of using the shadow or fire debuffs to their advantage.
As for Shadow Priest, I love the dots, especially shadow weaving. I can't wait until Keeju is 50. Mmm. Mana instead of health.
Between my two priests, my favourite spell is Fade. I find it's underused by other priests. I don't know if they're waiting for the really BIG "OMG SHIT!" moment or if they just don't understand how awesome it is.
Ells, it's my golden spooge that entertains me. I know that Holy Nova is only useful in particular circumstances, but I love being able to AOE golden healing/damage with no threat. My favourite spell combination is Prayer of Mending and Shadow Word: Death. Those two spells helped me and Ofanim solo mobs that still take at least five people to do. Despite my bitching to the populace, I love healing raids. If I go on raids with Solenev I go bonkers watching the healing or watching what the other priests are doing. I love finding out the tricks other healers use to make themselves effective. I love using 'Heal' and have it crit. I LOVE INSPIRATION.
For hunter, I love the new Arcane Shot. It's useful now for the mana usage! And I love having a pet. My little hyena rips face and I know that people are like... "What the hell?" since it's an unorthodox choice for a pet. But I don't have those points put into the other abilities that you get for a wolf, owl, or cat. I love soloing on her. Feign death, a little bit of Bestial Wrath, and whammo. Tons of skinning. I love fighting new classes on her and trying to figure out which combination of trapping and kiting and ability usage is going to be effective against certain classes.
With my druid, I love that you can switch forms quickly. Form to form to form to form.
There's a lotta love in my post.

I like having the holy trinity of classes, a level 70 healer, tank, and dps. That way when I actually want to instance and see need 1 more for so and so. I go woo I can do that.
As for the actually fun times of my characters.
Malakim - Sexy hunter fun, I am totally the reason people cry nerf for hunters (Not really, I do enjoy getting able to shoot all kinds of fun arrows, and a big red Kiwi is the most hilarious thing ever.)
Styxen - Pally healing, quite possibly the most retardedly easy healing class in the game. Also getting beat down by a shiny pally that just out heals all the damage you can do quite possibly one of the most humiliating things in the game. Well, next to getting killed by a pink bird.
Ofanim - What else can I say besides, number 1 threat to this game... Bears.

I love my rogue.
I like dealing tons of damage in raids and being all sneaky about it so the mob doesn't even know I'm there when it's focused on the tank.
I like being able to control mobs in five-mans with sap, stuns, kick, blinds, etc.
I like thinking I make people yell "Damn rogues!" in PVP like I do when I get jumped by a rogue on my alts.
I like being able to sneak through Alliance cities.
I like all the silly little things I get from pickpocketing.
I like being able to sneak to quest objectives without having to fight everything along the way.
I like hiding in the bushes in AB and attacking an Alliance who thinks it's safe to touch the flag.
On my druid, I like being able to do whatever I need to do. There's no downtime. I can kill one thing fast, or outlive five things and wear them down slowly, and heal myself as needed. And I love being a bird. :)

((
Holy Priest:
Honestly, I just love healing.
I love having the responsibility of being a primary healer and knowing that
I play an integral part in a dungeon run or raid.
I love it when in a battleground or PuG group, I get tells thanking me or complimenting
me on my heals.
Basically, playing a holy priest just gives me a warm, fuzzy, validated feeling.
Combat Sword Rogue:
There is something incredibly fun about playing a pigtailed gnome death-machine who
wields swords that are bigger than she is. While I love playing a priest, I have absolutely
fallen in love with theory-crafting the rogue class, calculating DPS, Energy consumption,
combo-point generation, weapon statistics, etc.
And as for PvP, dealing utter ruin out in copious amounts is great therapy for when I'm
constantly targeted by every single rogue on my priest.
I'm leveling a rogue here on TN now, too...that's how much I love the class.
I want two.

I love being a warlock because:
- those quests that say "Suggested players: 2 or 3 or 4"? I can just ignore that part. They should say "Suggested players: 4 OR 1 warlock".
- I love never ever having to stop. Ever. When I'm out there questing, I send the VW in, dot up the mob, send the VW after another mob when I pull aggro and don't even blink because it dies before it ever reaches me. Never ever stopping. I love it.
- I love ending fights with 100% health AND mana. Dot dot dot, lifetap, drain life back to 100%, then drain soul that restores some of your mana if you kill your target while draining its soul.
- I love never having to drink.
- I love turning a "oh holy shit!" situation of getting jumped or accidentally aggroing three extra mobs into a "and THAT is how a warlock does THAT!" situation.
- And finally, I love love LOVE my dreadsteed.

Blood Knight Tabard > All tabards
Warlock:

They dominate in pve and pvp if you know wtf you're doing. I don't give a shit what any rogue or any mage says, a warlock with a brain will always out-dps and totally rock your ass in pvp.
How else would I already have this (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Ursin&n=Errigal) and this (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Twisting+Nether&n=Elaine).. and still level this (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Twisting+Nether&n=Romine)? ('course blood elf > all.. so yeah)

I love my rogue, my Mutilate rogue, for several reasons.
1. You get to be stealthy. Being stealthy means you can stalk people. I love stalking people. In fact, I enjoy stalking people literally to death. I enjoy following them and study them and decide if I can kill 'em. Then I kill them the moment the opportunity appears and then disappear, leaving the poor sod howling in rage. If we share the same grinding spot, then I do it again. And again. And again. Until the guy decides to mount up and flee (and if he is fun to stalk, I will locate him anyway and continue stalking him), or he logs off or he goes off and jumps off a cliff in real life.
2. Death in fifteen seconds or less! I kill people with extreme efficiency and incredible speed, unless he is covered in plate armor from head to toe.
3. Order within the chaos. With my high attack speed, slice and dice and high white damage due to precision and dual wield specialization, I can keep pounding bit by bit. However, in that rain of blows, there will be heavy mutilate hits snuck in. Within the chaos of a rain of blows, there is order. I am timing my heavy hits, I am deciding when to use my Ace card (Cold Blood Mutilate). In the chaos, there is method. In the chaos, I methodically dismantle my targets.
4. Poison. Mixes well with alchemy. Poison + alchemy = apothecary. I am making poisons and cures. I can brew concoctions that benefits me and gives my targets hell alot of pain.
5. Professional assassin role play. I love this one most, which is why Xiphus is played the way he is. I seek out information, make initial plans based on information acquired, and fine tune it at the scene. Then methodically dismantle the target.
6. You are literally Death incarnate. You can strike at any moment, any time, any day. If they never see you, they will never expect you. You are unpredictable! If they never expect you, Death will come as sudden as....well, Death.

Paladin:
1. Healing.
2. Stunning something and finishing it off just before the fertilizer hits the ventilation system.
3. No poison, disease, or magic debuffs.
4. A mount, complete with riding skill, at level 40 for about 1 gold. :D

Enhancement Shammy- Just the sheer ass kickery of it all. Taking on five bastard mobs my level, dropping them all, a couple of totems, standing there and going "WHO ELSE WANTS SOME?!" Honestly Shamans are my favorite class :3 Eeee! I got rage! **dances, wiggles and jiggles. Goes Chantily Lace all up in the house, horrifies the neighbors** Besides that, I'm a gigantic freaking Tauren, I carry around my whuppin' stick and MOO at the enemy! Who wants a side o' beef boys!?
My huntard, which I have no idea about at the moment:
1. She's sexy. She's green. She's stout. She shakes it like a salt shaker. Aka. I love her butt-dance. XD Then again if I played any other orcs I'd love them too.
2. I have a pretty widdle butterfly thingy combined with a god lizard! ^.^ He breathes fire and he looks like something out of Toho studios. Plus :3 He's all like "mrrr I has a happy face next to my portrait". Then I'm all like SQUEE! Pets!
3. The bow. Okay. The archery. It is teh sex.

1. The shanking.
2. The shivving.
3. The chib.
4. The knifing.

Rogue: I really enjoy the utility you can bring to the table. Sap, even now that everyone has it, is still one of the best things since Frost Shock. Both in PvE and PvP, it can change a fight to being easy to so easy we'll just aggro everything and have the priest DPS it down. I like being able to gouge and blind targets heading at things without really missing a beat on the primary target. I enjoy being able to decide, "Ok, this thing needs to die now" and press a few buttons... and very bad things happen to the target.
Warrior: My first character ever was a mage. My first character I leveled up was a dwarf warrior... and dwarves aside, I really enjoyed it. I have my level 70 warrior, who yesterday I specced to protection to tank Karazhan. It was enjoyable, and I remember why I liked it. When you can sit back after a fight and go, "Fuck, that was stressful" then you know you've put your money's worth into the game.
Shaman: I'm the worst shaman ever. I like that because I can do all the stupid shit people do to me when I'm leading a raid... and laugh in petty, petty revenge.
Like most, I got other classes and like stuff there too - but they aren't level 70 yet, so haven't put them through the real test drive.

Yeah, when I played a Hunter before these were two of my favorite abillities! Really under used by a lot of people, too bad there's not more occasions any longer like pulling Shazzrah and Geddon in MC.
EotB used to be great for pulling the second boss in Mechanar... but they fixed her, sigh. You know what I always wished though -- EotB would be great for roleplaying if you could hear what was happening at the pet. Or emote! :D
I first CCed in an instance at 61, for Hellfire Ramparts. I've loved being a hunter ever since.
Hunter CC is rawk. I enjoy a good challenge and retrapping can be just that. I live for the "wow, you're good at that!" whispers after chain trapping a mob. I miss being BM/SV. I'm so glad they're bringing back double traps, too, that was a low blow to skilled hunters everywhere.
What I really like about hunters, though? 1. You can set yourself apart by playing the class well. It's always nice to make someone rethink what they assume is a "noob" class. 2. Tracking. Get a tracking mod and you are out of control. I feel naked playing any other class. 3. They have the best emote in the game.
Random nub flirts with you.
/cast Feign Death
That said, I really enjoy tanking on my little prot pally. I put a lot of dedication into playing my hunter well, but tanking actually demands it.

My first character ever was a warlock, but my first 60 was a tauren hunter. I loved that I was one of maybe 3 female tauren hunters on my old server at 60. I adored my hunter, I loved the management, the knowing that while everyone and their girlfriend has a hunter, most of them suck and I knew what I was doing. I just loved it. With the leveling changes, I might roll one over here. I miss that character.
Warlock: To this day my favourite class, and I rolled one back in 1.2, when they sucked complete and utter donkey ass. I love dots, I love demons, I love my ability to be self sufficient. I love that with careful management, I can successfully keep two mobs controlled at the same time. I liked my warlock from the very beginning.
Shaman: Despite all the bitching and the whining from the community, I do like my shaman. So what if she will never top DPS charts, she offers a crapton of support.

I like my hunter because it is not a paladin. In fact, It is very much the opposite.
I play a warrior because I enjoy the challenge. I love the concept of tanking. I love stance-dancing. I just like having to actually put effort into fulfilling my role.
Hunters/rogues are way too easy. Casters are way too squishy. I'm not too big on the lore behind druids and shamans, and I'd probably roll a paladin if a blood elf weren't my only option.
Basically warrior is the only class I can envision myself playing and having fun with, and luckily it's a class I really enjoy.

Hey, just 'cause it can be easy doesn't mean you have to play it that way. And I'm not talking about gimping yourself, like raiding as MM (lawl), because even as the "easiest" spec I put a massive amount of work into playing my hunter as well as I do.

I like druid for one huge reason. My hugely varied abilities. Example
Old Hillsbrad. Niethan was healing. Niethan gets aggro and dies, but everyone was ok for the time being. I pop out of cat, hock out a battle rez and follow that up with an innervate. Niethan is still low on health, and Vil needed some healing while Nie got everything back, so I popped tranquility and kept everything going so that Nie could get some mana back from innervate to get back in there and do the healy thing. Afterwards, I popped back into cat and gnawed on the Epoch Hunter's tail. Then he died.
Yeah. Thats why druids are awesome.
I love my Shadow Priest, because the fact that I have to reduce my speed by 100% to reduce yours by 50% is so ridiculous, it makes me laugh everytime.
Plus, playing Mana + DPS + Healing = Agro with the tank is pretty amusing.

I don't know what I like about shaman yet, since I'm only level 12, but I'm sure I'll figure out something.
Warlock, though, I loved because I almost never had to stop and drink/eat when soloing (except when grinding for my primals, ew). I also loved my pets being able to take the heat from unwanted mobs attacking me. And being able to get back up when I died. And owning. A lot.
I'm new, by the way, hi!

A stupidly fun thing about being a warlock is when a group of Alliance ganks me and I wasn't soulstoned, I don't release. I step away from the computer and get a drink or a snack or something, maybe do some quick catching up on the forums. When I come back they're still waiting for me to use my nonexistant soulstone so they can kill me again.

I love playing a Resto Shaman, because there's a lot of dependence upon me to be at peak performance and on the ball. Chain Healing is a beast in raid's, even just Karazhan. Healing people for 4K, 2K and 1K respectfully per Chain Heal 'bounce' is just fantastic, and I get a big grin on my face whenever every single bounce crits.
I love being needed for every raid, but I dislike that several guilds are all dependent upon me doing stuff with other guilds in order for them to make progress. I love PvP healing, even if it's something I've only just recently begun to do. I love that feeling of being one of the things in Alterac Valley that can turn the tide of the battle if I am doing my job. I love healing for big numbers. I love seeing my name at the top of the healing charts, be it in a PvE raid or PvP one.
Improving my gear isn't the reason I do raids or go and PvP. Being at the top of the charts isn't, either. It's the satisfaction that comes from total strangers in AV commenting on the "Monster Healing" or good friends complimenting me on juggling heals while finding tightrope paths of safety on Prince to keep the tank alive just that bit longer.
