I want the honest opinion of the RPers here. What do you think of the Keepers of Stromgarde?
The reason I am asking is that i am heavy RP or try as hard to be in a game that is not really built for RP. I was informed a few days ago that the "core" members of the guild consider it medium or light. Shocking really considering we advertise we are heavy RP and myself and Jerone do our damnest to get RPers into the guild.
So opinions?
Secondly on advice how do you promote RP within the guild. I can count at total of 7 people including myself who are always RPing in guild chat. Everybody else adds comments every now and then. So how do I get those who don't RP to start joining the ranks. Everybody who joins us knows we are heavy RP or try our best to be, so they shouldn't really be shocked with GC is in character.

I'm a fan of the Keepers, cause they're heavy RP dedicated to the protection of Stromgard. My only problem with them? We spent three hours destryoing Refuge Poinbt and sacking Stromgarde, killing every single alliance in the zone. No KoS showed up at all! Hey...your acronym is KoS...how fitting >:D
Infection is Heavy RP, but you still can't expect RP going on every second of the day. Just like /rp goes, it kinda comes in waves. Someone will say something, there'll be a big discussion of whatever, and then it kinda dies out. If you're not getting any waves at all, then hmm...
Oh, when RP is kinda waning in Infection, we'll call up an RP meeting, and just RP for a while. After that, everyone's in the RP kinda mood for a while.

Us on the Horde side are going to have a difficult problem andswering the 1st part. I have never had a problem with any member of the Keepers in game. They usually kill me and then move on :P I ussually see them represented by 1 or 2 members when ever The Crimson Watch goes and raids a town. Rp-wise, I cant answer.
As far as promoting RP in the guild, that is entirely dependent on what the guild as a whole is suppose to be. TCW is a medium RP guild and we promote RP in our ranks generaly with our weekly RP events. Every Tuesday we hold some kind of guild wide rp event. It veries from week to week as to what we are going to actually do. For example, last tuesday we took over the Inn in Brill and had a booze party and an un-armed dueling competition. Then we went and attacked Darkshire all boozed up. It was a lot of fun.
It may be that while you and Jerone consider the Keepers a heavy RP guild, by vurtue of its members, it may have devolved into a medium or light one instead.

Lol. Well timing honestly is an issue for us. Most of the members of the guild are on after 8 or 9 server and they are on for a few hours 3 to 4. Secondly last night we were running UBRS and a seperate group was in BRD. So I am betting that is why you saw none of us at RP. We were too busy in instances.
When it comes to defending stromgarde, if i see it light up, i will fly in and get a few to come as well.
As for RP. With us guildchat is RP. We have an OOC channel, but by nature of things, few are every chatting in Guildchat. As for RP events, we try but attendance is low in many cases.

Guild chat is a tough one. Even when I was in an RP guild, people used the /OOC channel a lot and guild chat hardly at all. /boggle It really depends on what's going on with me as to whether I will RP much in a chat channel. If I'm trying to fight in a battleground or do my thing in an instance I will probably not be talking in any channel save /p.
As for getting people to RP together more, I'd recommend holding a biweekly RP event of sorts. Make it a little different each week to keep up interest. It wouldn't always have to be a meeting. Maybe make up an ongoing Keepers quest line for yourselves. I'd also plan it for Tues - Thurs sometime. During the weekend and Monday, many of us are trying to get our PvP ranks up or are running / finishing end game instances on a timer. You'll probably get a larger turn out mid-week. You may also want to shift the meeting time around some so East Coasters, Central and West Coasters can all attend at least one meeting a month without feeling like they have to stay up really late to attend.
My two copper.

It's kind of strange. Fallacy is a native of Strom, it's where he was born and raised. He sees the Keepers as his former countrymen, and doesn't wish them harm. The encounters he's had with Jerone have been quiet ones, and I haven't seen very many others out in the field.
Try making a mandatory RP meeting, and only those who have actual reasons not to be there (instances don't count) should be the only ones not there.

Good idea, Fal. I think our next one'll be mandatory, too. At least "mandatory if you're online". Grrr.
Hiffy, don't sweat it. Decimate is an RP guild. About 5-8 of us are active RPers. The rest are either reactive-RPers or flat-out non-RPers who love us and love our RP. Our guild chat almost always has something amusing happening to keep everyone entertained, but the OOC chatter DOES buzz a lot faster. Not much to be done there. I wouldn't sacrifice any of my people, RP or not. Our RPers create a fun atmosphere that keeps folks comin' back for more and that's all we can really ask.
As for what I think of the Keepers? I love ya guys! Just wish we found you out in the world more. You're the only one I ever see. I always toss you a greeting (Shadow Word: Pain) when I see ya!

Frankly, I find guild chat to be messy in Heavy RP guilds. Here's why.
I hate mindless OOC spam in guild chat. It sort of breaks immersion.
However, I don't buy into the whole hearthstone-walkie-talkie we're all psychic schtick either. Which is why I never really demanded high impact guild chat from the Greyward. eh.
I Think it's a double edged sword.

Well... here's how we operate. We are heavy RP but our guild chat is OOC. We have an RP channel, but it isn't used all that much. Why..? Because we're usually all together, RPing in /say. Or coordinating PvP in /ra or /g. 75% of our guildchat discussions are over what's going on RP or PvP wise in game. The other 25% is just random silliness. We're good at that.
I'm not sure what to tell you about getting people to RP more, though, hun. The past three nights, I've done almost nothing BUT Rp with the vast majority of my guild. We have regular meetings, do patrols, or just run into each other. We're all always RPing in some form or fashion. Maybe you could try hunting people down and interacting with them in /say? Personally, RP has MUCH more depth to me if the "person" is standing right in front of me... or behind me... or at least in the same room.
We do it the opposite of Kuro's group -- our guild chat is IC and we have a separate OOC channel. Most days, there is more OOC chat than RP chat, so I guess the result is about the same. When you're busy questing or fighting it's often difficult to RP effectively. I have been wanting to have more IC get togethers for this reason, and I'm working on a couple of those now. Most of us also hang around in the RP chat room (the Rest in Peace, /join rp), and quite a bit of RP takes place there.

Thanks for all the advice. Need time to ponder and think about all of this. Oddly enough none of the alliance have commented on how they see the Keepers. An omnious (spelling?) meaning perhaps? :p

Okay, here's an Alliance comment....You guys are T3h Suxxorszzzz!
hehe, I kid.
Actually, I love the KoS. Lovely has been a friend of Jerone's since pretty much the beginning of the server, and I've always thought you guys were one of the best guilds out there. Your mission is explained in your guild name, and most of the keepers I've encountered have been good people AND good RPers.
Love the Keepers of Stromgarde....

Oh right! Knew I was missing something... Honestly, I haven't had much interaction with the Keepers, save a couple of members (and that includes you, Hif, so... >_>). What interaction I HAVE had has been most enjoyable and full-o-rp. :D

Lol. Sorry I have not been on much, or responded because I have been rather busy. The reason I asked those two specific questions is because I am the new Guild Master for the Keepers.
It is only Temporary. I must stress that.
Jerone has some real life commitments, so I am incharge for a month or two max.
I just wanted a general feel of what the Keepers are viewed as and what I should be working on.
Being a GM is not easy. I /salute all of those who are GMs. How do you manage to do it, is beyond me.

Lol. Yeah no drama for now. Just need to work on guild matters. I will hit you up if I need any advice. My list for advice gets longer and longer day by day.
