I can no longer post anything larger than a small paragraph in any thread. When I click submit with anything a bit larger than this post, it sends me to the TNG main page. Any help is apreciated.

could you do me a favor and try to PM it to me? If you won't let you PM it, then email me the text so I can try to figure out what's going on.
I assume it's probably a html character my protection system is bugging over, but I need to know which one it doesn't like.

forgive my ignorance, but by PM you mean the text that I tried to post?
I have tried doing some tests with lengthy text and sometimes I can post and other times I cant. However the original post that I tried to do fails everytime.

PM = Private Message
If you check under any of my posts, there's a row of pictures. One of them says "PM" on it. Another is for emailing me, or contacting me through AIM, MSN, or YIM.
Just click the PM one and paste your text into that and send.

Of course, how silly of me. I will attempt to PM it or send it through mail if it does not.
Thank You Mortica, you are the best forum Admin that I have ever seen.
Edit: I am at work at the moment and the Proxy and firewall are blocking me from doing anything. I will have to leave it until I get home in a couple of hours. Thanks again for your help
Further Edit: I have arrived home and sent the text through your MSN E-mail. I have tried experimenting by making posts with equal or more text and it works fine. It appears that TNG has an issue with the text in my original post only, but the weird thing is that it refuses to post no more than two sentences from that text at a time.

I managed to post my Reply on the thread by dividing it into 4 parts. I have not had any problems sincem it appears that the forums only had a problem with that particular post.
I thank you once again for your help.

Just wanna interject...I dont know anything about computers and forums and whatnot (moderating maybe but not scripting or whatever its called) is it possible your firewall is getting in the way somehow? Anyway just giving Mortica another lead possibly

The same thing happens on any workstation within our outside my work's network. I have even tried it on my home computer and a friend's. It appears that the forums had something against the post and I had to divide it into 4. However it is just with the text of that very post, I can continue to post anything now but if I try to post that reply as one it will fail. I have never seen anything like it.

the problem is I have an anti-hacking mod installed that will reject certain things that would seem to be harmless otherwise..I never received a PM or email with the contents, and I'm not sure that would have found it anyway.
Were you copying from MS Word or another word processing program? Word is infamous for having all sorts of weird characters (like the ` type quotes) that I may need to add to the "allowed" list.

weird, I sent the message to your MSN address. It doesnt matter since the text is now on the forum but divided in 4 different posts. I didnt copy from MS Word as I know of the problems it causes, the problem ocured straight from the forum Post Reply Page. After some failed attempts I copied the text to a *.txt file and that was it. I have even tried rewriting the reply word for word on the Post a Reply page but stil rejected. I believe that it doesnt like some word arangements or punctuation (I guess that PHP itself got fed up with my bad grammar and punctuation 8O )
I have not encoutered the problem again with other replies, but if I try to place the same reply into a single post it will get rejected.

Mortica, the same problem keeps happening to me everytime I write something that is a bit long. It appears to have issues with random words in paragraphs.
Last time I identified the word "union" as a culprit so I changed it and it worked. I also managed to go around the problem earlier by spliting posts into 2 or more.
But now I am unable to post an RP story due to the same problem and I am unable to split it or identify the "offending" words to correct it.
Any help will be apreciated.
I am not sure but em I the only one with this problem?
Edit: It is confirmed, it does not like the word "union". I searched, found and eliminated/changed all "union" words and it worked.

ah..I'll see what I can do to fix that. "UNION" is a SQL command that links tables, so I'm guessing that's why it's bugging on you. Although it's a common enough word you'd think there'd be some sort of exception thing. Anyway, I'll check into it.
