Come on RP guilds, get your butts in gear!

What's going on here? Nothing? Yeah, NOTHING! It just seems lately that most guilds are completely dead when it comes to RP. Don't want to whinge like a kid who's not getting enough attention, but these are the best examples I have:

I mentioned the 'Training Day' RP-PvP event and asked who's interested. Lots of people said hey, nice idea, but not ONE pm from any guild saying they're interested. What's up with that?

The 'Looking for Alliance Sister guild' thing? Nope, not one response. Come on guys, what gives? I'd be thinking maybe it's just that no-one likes us(Sanctuary) in particular, but looking around it seems that RP on a guild level in general is rather dead right now.

I see lots of individuals organising things and being active. (Grats Lupa, Barke, Fhenrir and Vilmah and whoever I missed.) That storyline Clys was running earlier rocked immensely and had enormous potential to get whole guilds embroiled in conflict, what happend to it?

Am I missing something here, or are we in a bit of a dead patch right now?

If so, I say we all get off our collective lazy butts and start trying to do something. Start battles, rivalries, romances, politics and mud-slinging matches! (all IC of course). Hell, even if someone just insults my hairy green ass, IN CHARACTER and declares war on us because of said ass. Whatever, someone just do something!

Yeah, I missed last meeting *looks shamefull*, but as a guild we try to support the meetings. So far there have been some important things to sort out at meetings and roleplaying seems to have taken a back seat. Will make sure we're represented at the next one.

However I was kinda meaning Horde AND Alliance guilds getting moving. Not to point fingers, but it does seem that Horde rpers are slightly more active, although that might be my misconception due to being on the other side of the faction line.

I've been admittedly lazy about contacting you about Training Day and I apologize. I've actually been very busy with my ingame time recently, working on getting this and that running, shooting for such and such rank, all kinds of things.

I'm still very much interested, and I'm sure much of my guild would be as well.

Well on the alliance side we are trying to increase RP-PVP for now. Atleast that is what a few Alliance guilds are working on. As for your threads, the Keepers would be a bad match for you. Lore wise and also due to personal characters stories a great deal of us don't see peace with the horde as an option.

Alliance side we are actually working on from what i can gather more coordination and discussions on what we can do. I heard of an RP gala a few days back held by the Maidens of Elune. Heard that went off pretty damn well.

More importantly what would you suggest we do? Joint RP events? Or RP-PVP events? What exactly?

Umm.... I didn't realize RP required events. Whether they're planned battles or tea parties, the majority of "RP events" I attend feel "forced" to me.

I like my free-form, go-with-the-flow RP. I just play my character and stay in-character as much as possible. Most "events" kinda force ol' Briggy into situations that make him nervous and he just stands around tapping his paddle-ball.

However, I'm aware of at least two exciting things that are being planned for the next few weeks. Maybe you just need to do some recon?

We're looking for a consistant opponent for a few upcoming events with Turen's storyline. His stories can be found here. Of course, we haven't 'actively' been looking. Frankly, we're somewhat overbooked. Sorta.

I plan to carry out this event when I have time, but lately, iv'e been caught up with:

RL issues with time.

But when I get the time, I'll carry the plans out. it involves several raids spread accross the time span of a few weekends (raiding different locations). So pretty much "I'm trying to get off my butt and get to work, but it wont let me". :wink:

Also, just because you don't see stuff here about events and all doesn't mean they aren't going on. Swordwaltzers and Order of Turalyon have started a weekly event of sorts, after all. ^_~

We've been looking for an Alliance guild that is directly opposed to us for a long time. If you guys are willing for us to 'involve' you in our storylines, or possibly kick something off that lets us get involved with you, it would be great.

I just wanted to say that even though my guild (Thorns and Roses, mercenary-type guild) is fairly new, we're up for just about anything for whoever wants some fun roleplay, just get in touch with us and we can work something out!

I have to say though, I've seen ten times more roleplay here than anywhere in any game I've ever played in my life, just trolling around Stormwind. Maybe I've always been in the wrong place at the wrong time, but it's thrilling for me to hear so many people just chatting it up in-character.
