((Here's the deal. I'm currently working on chapter 3 of my backstory and have included some reference to WoW lore. I want to have a couple chapters done before I start posting them so I can hopefully post consistantly every week. Need a little time incase i don't have time to write or get writers block. Trouble is I'm not sure if everything I wrote is accurate. I've done a lot of research but the only place I know to look is that lore spot on the WoW website.

So here's where I'm going: Is there a better place to look than on the WoW website? I put E's name in the title cause I figured he would know. I'd even go as far as e-mailing the parts of the story that have any referance to lore. I'd rather get it right before I post it. Another issue is that I never bought "Frozen Throne" so anything after WC3 is kind of an unknown:

1) Thrall builds an Ark
2) The Scourge
3) Oh noes! Demons and stuff
4) Big tree blows up
5) ... :? ...
6) ... :? ...
7) WoW

Perhaps I should just go buy it first. :(

Yes I called you "E." I will continue to call you "E" because I don't wanna type your name out everytime.

Although I do suppose I could just call you Manus. ;) ))

1) Thrall builds an Ark

Didn't really happen. Thrall and Grommash "Commandeered" a fleet of Kul Tirisian Vessels that were docked along the coast. Remember what Captain Jack Sparrow Said: It's not stealing, it's commandeering.

2) The Scourge

The Scourge had been in development for a few years before the Horde exiled to Kalimdor. Ner'zhul had conquered the Nerubian Empire of Azjol-Nerub, which would have been almost like if IceCrown was in Un'goro and he went to conquer Ahn'Qiraj. He also wages a constant war against the Gundrak Empire and the Blue Flight of the DragonBlight; which are the only two powers that can oppose his domination of Northrend.

3) Oh noes! Demons and stuff

Oh noez indeed.

4) Big tree blows up

5) ... :? ...

Maiev Shadowsong, Illidan's Jailer, goes on a rampage to hunt and kill Illidan. She, Malfurion, and Tyrande track Illidan, whom has now become the new right-hand man of Kil'jaeden the Deceiver (Whom masterminded the construction of the Horde by making the pact with both Ner'zhul and Gul'dan), to destroy the Lich King. When consuming the Skull of Gul'dan, Illidan also absorbed Gul'dan's very presence inside him, including his memories. As such, Illidan had no problem finding the lost Tomb of Sargeras, where he gathered arcane relics and traveled to Dalaran to unleash a giant incantation intended to destroy Ner'zhul.

Malfurion stopped him halfway, and instead of shattering the Icecrown Glacier, it only cracked his husk. this allowed for him to begin losing control of his minions.. henceforth, the Forsaken regaining their will, and SYlvanas' rebellion and liberation of Lordaeron. Fearing the wrath of Kil'jaeden, Illidan left to Outland, where Maiev followed him. She captured him there, but if not for the intervention of Kael'thas Sunstrider and Lady Vazj, she would have had him strapped down in the Barrows. But Illidan was freed, and killed Maiev there on the Draenei soil.

He then traveled to the Black Citadel and killed the Pit Lord Overlord that was ruling Outland with the aid of the Forgotten, the Draenei Exiles lead by Akama. Illidan therefore became the ruler of Outland, but was met by Kil'jaeden yet again, to give him one final chance to destroy Ner'zhul in a massive land invasion of Northrend.

This assault was pre-empted by the Arrival of Arthas Menethil, whom was then completely infused with the very last bits of Strength Ner'zhul had. After fighting the husk of an Old God buried deep undernearth the ruins of Azjol'Nerub, He and the Crypt Lord, former King Anub'Arak, dashed against Illidan, Vazj, and Kael'thas, and in a dramatic duel, Illidan was defeated by Arthas, and his mortally wounded body dragged away by his Naga allies to the briny sea. Arthas climbed up to icecrown, and donned the armor of Ner'zhul. At that moment, Ner'zhul completely possessed Arthas' body, and his corporeal form is considered the strongest entity in many worlds.

6) ... :? ...

The Kul Tiras Navy arrived in Durotar, and begin preparing for a large ground assault. Admiral Daelin Proudmoore besieged Theramoore and in a single moment, carried out a flawless and bloodless coup d'etat and began preparations for a complete invasion of Orgrimmar, construction Tiragarde Keep. Thrall enlisted the aid of a Mok'Nathal named Rexxar, a Troll named Vol'jin, a Pandaren named Chen Stormstout, and Cairne Bloodhoof, to lead the armies of the Horde as they defended Durotar, destroying the Keep, and then with the Stonemaul Ogres, invaded Theramoore after sinking the huge Naval Blockade, and assassinated the Grand Admiral.

7) WoW

Give or take four years later.

Castor:

I can't claim to be up on the history behind WoW, but I have found this site to be useful when it comes to questions I have:

But some of that is a bit questionable.

Aye ... I've wondered that myself. Some also seems internally contradictory: event order changing slightly between versions of a story, things like that. It's a Wiki, so I view it more as a dumping ground of ideas to be filtered through rather than accepted wholesale.
