View Full Version : Happy Again
Lovely

The past few days had been hard for Lovely. She had gone through a bit of a nervous breakdown, and had attempted to change her ways...to become pure again...to become just and decent and wholesome.
It didn't work.
To Lovely, it seemed that the harder she tried, the worse things became. First, her friend Rhowen had cast her out...had told her she was a worthless harlot who caused misery and pain, and did not want to speak with her.
Lovely understood Rhowen's actions, and forgave her, but that still didn't erase the hurt. Lovely found solace in the arms of Barke, the Night Elf rogue. They spent time together, talking and watching those around them. It seemed like Lovely and Barke were kindred spirits, although Lovely was trying her best to avoid that and cling to that which was holy.
Just a few days past, Lovely finally succumbed to her feelings. She told Barke that she was in love with him. She cuddled to him, and caressed him, longing for the release he could provide her, and for his nurtering protection and love.
Then it happened. Lovely stood in front of the Auction House in Stormwind, eavesdropping as Barke and Rhowen discussed the events of the gathering in Booty Bay. She gasped in shock and horror as she heard them speak of Lupa, and of Barke's encounter with her. Lovely fell to the ground unmoving, taken over by their voices as everything she wanted was ripped away. Finally, she ran from the city, crying and alone.
Rain fell in Goldshire as Lovely arrived. She walked into the Lion's Pride Inn, soaked to the bone...shivering and still weeping. Almost instantly the citizens of the town were upon her, whistling and trying to touch her. Her mind had long been fragile, but this snapped her. She batted them away and ran into the rain again.
Raising her hands, Lovely summoned Splendor, her warhorse, and rode into Westfall....Specifically to the ravaged town of Moonbrook. Her pain was soon shared by the many Defias who now called the town their home. Within moments, she stood in the midst of a pile of bodies, staring at the ground and ignoring the cries of mercy from those who still clung to life.
Lovely sat atop the corpses and began to think of the events...She knew at this point that madness had once again overtaken her, but she struggled to know the reason why....
Then it dawned on Lovely. All her troubles had begun when she had decided to try to be something she wasn't. Even trying to be holy, Lovely's selfishness and self gratification had still overpowered her. She had hurt those she loved once again, and had cast herself out of their good graces all in trying to "improve" herself.
Conidivh had told Lovely she should improve her reputation....and to get in the good graces of people. Obviously, Lovely chuckled, that had not worked. Quite the opposite.
Lovely raised her head, and with a bloodcovered hand wiped some of the tears from her face. She ran her hand through her hair, turning the silvery sheen into a pinkish bloodsoaked mop. Lovely began to cackle a bit....softly at first, then with more intensity. Before it stopped, she was giggling atop the bodies of the Defias.
Summoning Splendor once again, Lovely smiled calmly and rode back to Stormwind. It was her first time back in the city in quite some time....her first time back as the True Lovely.....not some sniveling little girl. Lovely was back....the strong Lovely, who cared not for what people thought of her. This was the only way to be happy again.
Lovely then took a bath in her room, put on her finest and skimpiest outfit, and set out to find Barke.
It didn't take long to find the Elven Rogue. Barke was sometimes predictable, and Lovely knew most of his haunts well. When they met, Lovely and he talked about the situation. Lovely thanked Barke. For it was he and his actions with Lupa that had freed her from her stagnation. Barke seemed to be happy about this as well, and the bond between the two began to seal and grow.
Lovely wished Barke well, and vowed to help him in whatever way she could to gain happiness with Lupa. Love was something different now to Lovely than it had been a few hours ago. Lovely was free, and the love would flow....and with no rules to hinder it, love would be a wild ride.

Lovely had talked with Barke about Lupa once again. During this talk, she had informed him that she knew Lupa, and had met her once before on a transport ship. It was then that Lovely had slain the Captain of Lupa's crew of pirates, allowing Lupa to take command of them. Lupa had allowed Lovely and the passengers to leave alive, and acted honorable indeed.
As she told Barke this tale, Lovely's mind thought of him, and of his happiness. Lupa would probably be good for Barke. She would probably make him happy, and treat him with the respect he deserved. Lovely would do what she could to help in this union.
After telling Barke the tale, Lovely let him know she had healed...She was back to her old self, and was finally a free spirit again. While her love for Barke never stopped, Lovely let him know that it was time to love herself as well. The two kindred spirits now saw each other for what they were, and they enjoyed it. They would always strive to make each other happy, no matter the cost or the sacrifice. Barke had never said he loved Lovely, but in her mind she knew he did. He may be in love with Lupa, but Lovely knew Barke would always be there for her.
Later that evening, Lovely received a message from her sister Celuna. It seemed the young paladin was fishing in Lakeshire, and the two of them needed to catch up. Lovely told Barke where she was going and took the griffon to Redridge, to her hometown of Lakeshire.
Upon arriving, the first thing Lovely saw was an undead rogue attacking Alliance trainees who were not advanced enough in their training to defend themselves. With a maniacal laugh, Lovely sprinted toward the rogue and put him in the dirt, slaying him without even donning her armor or using her weapon. The fools plagued Lakeshire too much.....Lovely knew she would have to spend some more time here in the future, to help make the place safe.
Soon after, Lovely met Celuna. She was wearing her armor, and was fishing on the docks near the town. They hugged and began talking as they fished, and Lovely couldn't help but tell her of the events that had transpired. Celuna, as always, was a rock for Lovely, and did what she could to help her big sister.
The sisters talked for a while, sharing stories of past and present, and then suddenly a voice came from the dock. It was Barke, who apparently was interested in meeting the sister of the Tainted Paladin. The three conversed for several minutes, and it became apparent to Lovely that Celuna was actually flirting with Barke.
Celuna's flirting came as a surprise to Lovely. She had never seen her sister with a man before, and the flirting caught her off guard. It also brought a smile to Lovely's face.
Minutes later, Lovely produced a dress for Celuna, and gave it to her. It was time for her little sister to wear something other than mail, and to relax. The three talked for a while longer, and then decided to move the small gathering to Goldshire.
Upon entering Goldshire, the rogue and the two sisters bought one of the more massive quantities of alcohol ever sold in the Eastern Kingdoms. They began to drink and be merry, and as the three danced with each other, inhibitions began to corrode into mist.
Lovely and her sister both began to caress Barke, kissing him and nibbling on his ear. Within moments, the three went to the edge of Crystal lake, compeltely intoxicated. Lovely was surprised when her little sister stripped naked and slid into the water, but Lovely followed suit and the women invited the drunken night elf in for a swim.
Within minutes, the sisters swam to Barke, and began to take advantage of him. With Lovely on one side and Celuna on the other, the poor drunken elf was defeated and succumbed to their charms. The three made passionate love in the lake, until finally Lovely was taken in by exhaustion.
Lovely left her sister with Barke, and as she glanced back and winked, she reminded Barke that this was a good thing...and that there were no strings attached.
-------------
The next day, Lovely awoke with a hangover, but still smiled her wicked smile. She had been shown love by Barke, and even though Barke still loved Lupa, Lovely was happy with that. Lupa and Barke would be happy, and so would lovely.
Lovely was unsure if the scene in the lake would ever repeat itself, but decided not to worry about it. The scene was perfect in her memory, and the man she loved had been made happy.
No matter what happened in the future, Lovely knew that freedom for all was the best life to live, and only by spreading love and pleasure would everything be made whole. As long as she and Barke understood each other, and helped each other, and showed love for each other, it didn't matter which way their paths went.
Lovely smiled, finally completely content and happy with what she was, and what she would forever be.........herself.

The sounds of lovemaking wafted through the upstairs window at the Lion's Pride, causing her to make a disgusted face. She peered out the dark window again, down to the silhouettes by the lake, and sure enough...they were at it again.
"Well, I guess he'd have to be pretty lasting if he bedded a troll," she mused quietly around the thin stick of wood in her mouth. A shrug, and she went back to penning her letter.
To the common man, should they get past the exterior, it was simply a letter home to her father. It told of adventures in Elwynn and trials in Westfall, it lamented about the treatment of the denizens of Sentinel Hill and the encroachment of the Defias. To her boss, however...it was a report, precise and on-time, as always.
She blew gently on the last line, drying the ink into the parchment, then folded the letter meticulously. Pungent red wax was heated in the single, small candle in the room, then pressed against the page, the paper sizzling under the potent substance. It was a special wax...one laced with a terribly lethal poison of her own making. She herself was immune to its charms, and her boss knew how to counteract it. She'd learned well from her instructor.
As if on cue, a rogue appeared from the deep shadows of the room as soon as her seal was pressed into the deadly wax. She handed him the letter carelessly - he held it tightly by the corners, away from the seal, and disappeared once again.
She leaned back in her chair, one arm dangling lazily as she propped crossed legs on the desk, the sounds of lovemaking still in the air. The prospects of this report made her giggle.
She simply couldn't wait to see its result.

Lovely wondered what had gone wrong....
Upon returning from a lengthy trip to the Scarlet Monestary, Lovely bumped into Conidivh in the canals of Stormwind. She was sure it was an intentional bump, and the SI:7 agent began speaking to her. He told her that he was aware of her activities. He somehow knew everything about Barke, and about Lovely's sister Celuna. He even knew Celuna's true name...Faith.
Lovely was angered. The rogue calmly stated that if she didn't follow his orders, SI:7 might pay a "visit" to her sister. He told Lovely what he wanted her to do to avoid this, and reminded her that she was his tool to be used as he saw fit.
Already angered, Lovely was surprised when Barke walked up, battered and bloody...limping and obviously distressed. Lovely immediately ran to his side to try and help him, but he waved her off coldly and left.
Perplexed, Lovely cut short her conversation with Conidivh and ran to the Trade District. She yelled Barke's name, with worry in her voice, and finally found him in the inn, near where her own room was.
He was being tended by Rhowen.
Lovely quickly ran into the room, wanting to help her injured love, but was quickly attacked verbally by Rhowen. Barke followed suit, telling Lovely to leave. Lovely could see the pain and anguish in his face, and her worry escalated.
Rhowen then told Lovely this was her fault. She told Lovely that everything she touched was destroyed, and Barke seemed to agree. Perhaps this was because of the night in the lake, Lovely thought, but if that was the case Barke had seemed not to mind.
Finally, Barke punched the wall, commanding Lovely to leave. She held back her tears, trying to remain strong, and walked from the room. Rhowen said a few more snide comments as Lovely left the room. Walking down the stairs, Lovely said a single word. "Bitch."
Lovely went to her own room, and began removing her armor. It was still covered in the blood of the Scarlets, and Lovely ran herself a bath to get the same blood from her skin.
Sitting in the tub, Lovely absentmindedly twirled her silver hair around a finger, deep in thought. Happiness had not lasted very long. Now there was despair and worry, and that was not good at all. Lovely wondered if she could ever stay happy. Rhowen was right....Lovely had made a mistake by sleeping with Barke. Lovely had been selfish once again....
Lovely still did not regret it....and she would get her happiness back....Rhowen and Conidivh be damned.
Conidivh

Conidivh idly traced a finger along the dust-lined table that dwelled forgotten in the uppermost room of the Northshire Abbey. Things were coming together nicely.
Of Lovely, an understanding had been metted out on the bridge. It was true that she lavished threats upon him as if she could change the proceedings by merely killing him, but Conidivh allowed her these outbursts. If she truly thought she had free will in these matters, it was so much the better. In the end, no matter what she decided to do, if would work to his advantage.
Barke. Celuna. How fortuitous it was to have still more bargaining chips to utilize in what needed to be done. Tasks that would aid the alliance, surely...but ones set by a far more strict master. Conidivh fought the desire to swallow a rising lump in his throat, and focused once again on his task.
The meeting after the impromptu discussion on the bridge in Stormwind still replayed as a vivid play in his mind. Moreover, it preoccupied his thoughts enough to deter him from dredging up the name of who he reported to.
The noblewoman had been brisk and to the point, obviously impatient with Conidivh's presence, and having to endure it for more than was strictly necessary in her eyes. It was not the first of such reactions. No, Conidivh knew this woman's mind after many meetings.
"And you can assure me of this? The situation in the Eastern Plaguelands worsens, and I will not capitulate to civil war," the woman grated.
Conidivh nodded, ignoring her rather impressive retinue and speaking solely to her. "As I say, things are already in place, madame. The rumblings you hear of the Necropolis making itself known lie in fact, but our combined efforts ensure that it will not pose serious problem to you or your...kind."
The woman nodded, but did not seem assured. She dismissed the rogue while instructing him to watch his dealings with representatives of Thrall.
"I will keep that in mind. With your permission, I shall withdraw to the surface, Lady Sylvannas."
Conidivh chuckled in a rare moment of open mirth and wiped the dust from his fingers.
The Paladin was well in hand by comparison to what else his master required of him.

Lovely was feeling a bit better. After talking with Barke, she knew he needed some time, and agreed to give him all the space he needed. She still professed her love for him, but love sometimes means letting go. Lovely was happy to give Barke all the space he needed. If he wanted her company again, it was his for the asking.
Later that evening, Lovely went back to the Scarlet Monestary. For some reason, she had been going there alot....Perhaps it was a stab at Tarlithion, who was working for High Inquisitor Whitemane...Perhaps it was just greed.
Arriving in Southshore, Lovely encountered members of The Collettores Royale, a small guild of people that Lovely knew through her friend Angelita. The group was on their way to the monestary as well, and so Lovely accompanied them there.
While there, the group slew many things, and Lovely began to bond with them. Imogenn the mage caught Lovely's eye, and explain to her the workings of the guild. It was amazing how much the guild was like the original Greyward that Aelendil had started. These were good people, and within just a few hours Lovely accepted an invitation to join their ranks.
Having a new family was a good way to help the healing process. Lovely just hoped that she didn't destroy this group as she had so many others.....She wanted her happiness to stay, and theirs too.
Clys stood nodding as the note she had just received from one of her contacts was read to her.
"What the hell is a Collettore? Some kind of birth control device? I guess it's time to have a chat with my dear silver-haired demoness. I haven't seen her in...forever, it seems."
Clys waved the messenger away, and did a little dance-spin, grabbing her daggers and letting the blades slice through the air, making a whooshing sound. She sang, her whispery voice sounding sweet and deadly all at once.
"Spin, spin, let the darkness come in,
There is time even now for the pain,
Thrust, slice, it might even be nice,
To dance once again in the rain."

Lovely stood at the corner of the street in the Trade District. She had been working on her skills at tailoring all day long, and had also been keeping an eye on Barke from a distance. He didn't want her near him, and Lovely didn't want to break her word, but she still wanted to be sure the man she loved was okay.
After some time, Barke finally smiled at her and spoke. Surprised and happy, Lovely went to his side and the two shared a conversation. Barke was still seeming to pine for Lupa, and Lovely offered her aid. Barke wasn't interested in that, however...It seemed someone was following him, and he asked Lovely to help watch out for them. It was someone other than SI:7, and this piqued both of their curiosities.
Later in the evening, Barke invited Lovely to go with him to the Plaguelands. Lovely was ecstatic. She donned her armor and went north, and the rest of the night seemed to go well. Questions arose in her mind about what she should do or say...She honestly didn't want to hurt Barke again, and so she tried to play it calm and cool.
When the night was drawing to a close, Barke hugged Lovely before she hearthed back to Stormwind. She got in her bed, the smile never leaving her face, and dreamed pleasant dreams about the man she loved.

Barke had told Lovely he was in love with her. They were in the park, in Stormwind, and he just said it. Lovley could tell that he struggled...that he wasn't used to saying those words...but out of his ruggedly handsome exterior came words that Lovely had longed to hear.
This was last evening, right before they made love under the stars. Lovely and Barke shared shared ecstacy, and true love.....
Tonight....
Lovely received a message from Clys through her servant Kittsu. They wanted to meet in Duskwood, in the place called Twilight Grove. Lovely eagerly accepted the meeting, and Barke accompanied her, hidden in the shadows.
As Lovely arrived, Clys stood there with her servant Kittsu, and the troll huntress Lupa arrived on her raptor. Lovely looked upon Lupa with admiration. She was beautiful as she was deadly.
With Kittsu translating, Lupa told Lovely that she had better take care of Barke....that if anything happened, Lupa would kill her. Lovely knew that Lupa spoke with honestly, and with love and honor for Barke.
Lovely agreed, and made a blood oath with the troll. She would do what she could to make things right....to keep Barke happy, and to honor her word.
Celuna had also been brought into the conversation. Lupa knew what had happened in the lake, and Lovely assumed it was due to the machinations of Rhowen. Lovely assured Lupa that things would be made right. Lupa kissed Lovely, and Lovely returned the kiss.....Lovely loved Lupa as Barke did at that moment....And would always honor the blood oath.
Barke then made his presence known, and Lovely left the two alone. They shared a few moments, as Lovely and Clys stood together and gave them privacy.
After a while, Lupa and Clys left.....and Lovely and Barke went back to Stormwind. The night had become a blur of emotion, and Lovely would not sleep much this night....When she did sleep, it would be a night of dreams about her love....
Lovely thought of this as she drifted off. She didn't know how the future would make things. She didn't know if Barke and she would last forever....Who could say....? But Lovely knew she was happy, and would stay happy.....
