View Full Version : Her Weakness

Persefani
08-20-2007, 01:00 PM
((This is totally against my better judgment, but it has to be written or else Sefi may never be told.))

His words bring welcome relief to her ears as she longs to hear his voice...

“My Rose, how are you? So much has happened.”

Her heart begins to race at the sound of his voice. “I am exhausted. I have been forced into dungeon after dungeon lately.”

“I understand, I myself have been campaigning in Arathi Basin the past few days. My dearest Sefi, you might have heard rumor that Roth’rili and Nymare have parted."

“I spoke with Roth'rili on last Thursday. He arrived right after Loeren found and took his blade to me.”

“Yes, a sad incident.”

“Roth'rili has changed. He frightens me.”

“However, do not think that it is all over between those two. Just last eve they escorted each other through battles in the Basin and enjoyed each other's company. I also feel they are losing their minds those two.”

“I think Roth'rili is jealous. It is the only explanation I have for his strange behavior.”

“Oh I know he is. Of whom however is my question. Nymare and I hardly speak these days, yet when he sees me talking to her, which I have to from time to time, his eyes shoot daggers.”

She hates hearing him speak of Nymare. “I miss you.”

“As I do you. We held each other only the briefest of moments, yet that feel of your body within my arms fires my soul. I find myself wanting that feel again, more than anything.”

She beings to blush at his words. “Why do the cruel fates leave us on opposite sides of this war? If only there was a way I can turn my back and go to you.”

“It would be risky, but possibly in secret we can meet, some private cove in Stranglethorn or some valley in Alterac.”

“It will be hard to get away from Leithlen. He tracks me now.”

“He does not trust you?”

Letting out a heavy sigh, “It is different than that. He needs me to keep his power. I hold connections too many and he will not let that go willingly. He thinks I do not know of his intent. Tries to hold me close and flatter me as if he is in love. He is using me.” She thinks to herself, Of love and power.

“That sounds horrible Persefani! Almost as if, he uses you. You are no pawn or slave.”

“It doesn't matter that much. He will never find my weakness”

“I doubt you have any, a woman of your power.”

Letting out a weak smile, “There is one. But I have never let anyone that close to me.”

“Sounds sensible, secure and wise, but oh so lonely. I feel closer to you now than before as you sound so much like me it is eerie. All these others weaving themselves in between us, I will not allow it any longer. I need you. I know this now. Why? I cannot even say myself, but I find I dream of you constant."

Blushing she looks away, “You know there is another that likes you right?”

“Another? No not that I am aware of. Who is this other? Another of your people? One of mine?”

“That girl in the bar with you that day. I saw how she watched you move. It was clear”

He lets out a chuckle, “Ah, my business partner. Rest assured my love, that there is more than you would think going on there and it is not love that is certain. More like a game she plays that, she does not know I am aware of.”

Looking back to him, “I don't compete. I will make that clear now.”

“There is no competition. If she appears flirty, it is because she has been asked to do so by someone playing a prank. She does not know I am on to her. But that will be dropped on her soon enough”, he laughs.

A knock comes upon her door and stops her from replaying the conversation in her mind, and a messenger arrives to Persefani at her chambers. She smiles to the man as she tips him well as she knows he knows. Some things need to never be spoken of. She sits at her desk to open the package, which reveals a heart shaped wooden box of exquisite chocolates. Inside is a letter.

How do I describe this feeling
Pure ecstasy, blissful, serene
The experience of floating away
Away to another plain with you
Far away where we are alone
Just the two of us in paradise.

Giving so much, one to another
Away from what keeps us apart
Where we can become as one
Holding on to our beautiful dream
The two of us forsaking all others.

Together, wrapped in our love
Swaying with the rhythm of life
Grasping what we can't have
Pretending that it's ours alone
No bother from outside forces.

Alone, just you and I forever more
But in reality, we must come back
Back to our senses and realization
Back to a world we wish to escape
Awakened to the truth of what's right
What's wrong and what is not ours.

Skafloc.

Her heart warms as she reads his wonderful words. He always has a way to touch her heart like no other has. I hope he never learns that he is my weakness.

Persefani was wondering around after sending off a small package with a messenger and trying not to hyperventilate when she saw Itakae and waved her down.

Itakae waved back and then noticed tears in Persefani’s eyes as she spoke.

“Did you read the paper?”

“...Wah happen?”

Persefani sees Itakae’s tension with the mention of the paper. The newspaper has been a touchy subject between them for some time as they both are missing skulls of loved ones and no one seems to care anymore about the cases.

“Skafloc....he was murdered. By Malorii!”

“h.. he wah?! Ah din' see dat!!!”

“Yes.” Persefani breaks into full fledge crying. “Someone hired Malorii to kill him out of jealousy. You don't think it could have been Leithlen?”

She shakes her head, “No way mon.. 'e woul'n do dat.. woul' 'e?”

“I don't think so.”

“Sah ah wonda…who coul'a ordered dat? Nymare?”

“She did have the most to gain from it.”

“Still.. 'ow coul' she? 'e was 'er husban'! She musta lowved 'im once.”

“Then again, Baroness Villayna deSinisca seems to have gotten everything. Why would he leave it to her?”

“Hmm…strange. Ah dunno”

“She did see me talking to Skafloc one evening. Maybe it was her?”

“Mebbe!”

“I talked with Skafloc almost a week ago and he said Roth'rili was very jealous of him.”

“Roth? Wah?”

“There are so many people.” Persefani sits at the spot she stood and tucked her knees to her chest as if a child would. Times like this it is obvious how she young she. Probably too young to be in control of what she is. “Why everyone I get close to something horrible happens? I don’t want to live anymore.”

“Oh mon.. Don' say dat. Please?” Itakae kneels down and hugs Persefani.

“I hurt everyone. Everyone I care about. I still have not been able to find your mate's skull. I failed.”

“ Sefi, joo ain gotta do dat. An' joo ain failed no-one. Remembah wachoo tol' me? Nah everyone's happy all da tahm. Jus remembah, joo got Leit'len, joo got me, joo Got Sacre' Fire. A lot a us care bouchoo.”

“I don't know how much longer I can go on. You know Skafloc gave me a ring? I returned it to Atanasia. Skafloc had my pendant.”

“Sefi...”

“I will never get it back now. It was the only thing I had from my real parents.”

“Oh Sefi, dere gotta be a way ta get it back!”

“I am sorry I am rambling. I just do not know what to do. I wish Leithlen was here.”

“Ramble on, i's aight. Ah be heah ta lis'n!” Itakae begins to look around. “Weh be Leithlen raht nah?”

“I don't know. He did something last night that scared me.”

“'e sca'd joo?”

“I don't really want him around, but I don't want to be alone. Yea, last night we had to visit the ogres. Nymare was there with her chosen Blood Knight of the week.”

Itakae looks confused, “Joo gonna have ta 'splain dis ta me, ah been out a da loop fo a wahl nah, ain realleh seen much othah den Loch Modan an' Haldren fo da las' couple a days.”

“Nymare and Roth'rili broke up and now she is with some guy named Leoren.”

“Oh...”

“Leoren hunted down Leithlen the other night and then last night they were there again. I even helped Nymare and yet they still attacked me until I had to reunite my spirit with body. Leithlen became enraged, like I never seen before. He went for justice, but did not just stop there. It was over and over again. I left, I was scared of what I saw happen. It seemed like he was more upset of being rejected by Nymare then the defending me.“

“Oh Sefi...” Itakae looks to the ground, “Ah dunno wah ta tell joo, soun's lahk dere be somtin wit im.”

“Maybe I am cursed.”

“No mon, ah don tink sah.”

“I think I am going to go back to my room and lay down. Thanks for listening to me.”

Itakae smiles, “Ah always be heah. Don' be sad!”

Persefani gives Itakae a hug goodbye and smiles weakly, “I will try not to.”

Persefani never returns to her room. Last time she was seen corssing into the Ghostlands continuing forward in the general direction to reach the Spire of the Sun. Witnesses say they saw her with blood from her arm running own her leg and horse. She hasn't been seen since.

((roflmao @ blood knight of the week! Oh last night was so confusing - I think I missed the part where Nymare was helped. Sorry bout that, I had too many arrows in my face!

So, someone should totally find Sefi and save her. Or ... imprison her? /cackle ON. I enjoyed reading this. Good job :)))

Roth'rili
08-21-2007, 05:18 PM
Frustrated Roth'rili pounds on the small table within his room. His eyes fixate, looking out the window to the beyond but not at anything in particular as he starts to think to himself.

*grrr* “It been so long since we met in the mountains, and she as yet to try to contact me or reply to anything I send. Where in the nether as she gone off too!”

A folded up Gadgetzan times lay on the floor with the story of Skafloc's death lying open.

”I told her not to get attached. I told her! I could not have expected this. This is bad.”

He lets out a long sigh as he rummages through his thoughts.

"This…this a setup, by the Light will I not trust a death by toxin! I have seen Malorii with him so many times. It does not make sense. I have cleansed poisons from so many people, there are some that can stop the heart and perform the illusion of death. Besides, Malorii would have no real reason to kill him. Contract or not! Now Nymare will be crushed. I will have to keep my distance for her to recover, and Persefani is no where to be found!"

His hands frustratingly reach up and rub his face trying to calm himself. Both women are going to do something to an extreme and Sefi might have already.

”I got to find her. Nymare can handle herself through this, and most likely would not wish to see me.”

Grabbing hold of his armor and suiting up slowly while he thinks.

”If anything were to happen to Sefi...I will not only lose her but the whereabouts of my daughter. She is stronger then this. She wouldn't do anything stupid, not after I told her to be careful...Would she?”

Pesefani decided not to go back to her chambers. She had to see him. Even if it meant imprisonment. She made her way North to the Western Plaguelands. Her head was spinning after the flight so she decided riding would be better so she had time to decide what to do.

Upon entering the Eastern Plaguelands she thought back to when she first met Leithlen so many months and seasons ago…

Honor Guard sent an inquisition force to Silvermoon to question their intent with siding with the horde. She was too young to be going but was dragged along anyways. It was her duty to do what she was told so she thought. That day changed her life.

She was among for the first time very powerful fighters. Leithlen was leading the forces and that moment seeing him made her realize her place was not to be under these great leaders, but beside them. The will was written.

At the time, she wore the banner of the Fabled Order and was called to aid this by General Khael. He was powerful and she was young and inexperienced. There was an instant attraction. Together they made the Sacred Fire, to lead and no longer follow. Months went by and they were wed in Stormwind. Having a new marriage was too much for them to handle on top of the guild. They decided it was better for them and those they lead to annul the marriage, but there will always be a love there that cannot be denied. It is better this way.

She needed pain, pain to mask the anguish of another love lost. Therefore, she took pain to herself, to her arm. It had to look like a battle wound. As she rode into the Ghostlands she looked to her left and off in the distance she saw the scare in the land and the gates to Deathholme…

She was fighting near the Sanctum of the moon when she met him. He saved her and helped her wounds. Time went on then Roth’rili was always helping her train her new body. She would play games with him and gather up all the skeletons and stuff she could to see if he could keep up healing her. He never let her fall. He was always very careful, caring and adoring over her.

They fell in love. It was hard being from opposite sides of this war. They both decided to take up residence in the Scryer’s Terrace to help be together and no one could stop them. She would visit him when se should but it became too much. She could not deny her loyalty to the Alliance among other problems. It had to end and ended it did but not without a child.

Her body became weaker from blood loss. Her charger knew of this weakness and slowed its pace to help keep Persefani steady on top.

Not much further.

Here eyes grew heavy and closed with the steady almost hypnotic movements of her Charger.

”Those sweet words. His amazing voice. His handsome body.” Fear starts to set in. “What if Roth’rili was right? What am I doing here? What if it is too late and this is what they wanted all along? ”

Khael, Roth’rili, Leithlen, Itakae, Honor Guard, Sacred Fire, Sanctuary, Fabled Order…Skafloc all ran through her mind.

”May the Light grant me this prayer to find my true love in flesh or in death. Please save me and direct me.”

The blood from her wounded arm has made its way slowly down her leg and Charger. She opened her eyes once more and then saw the Andilien Estate. Apprentice Vor'el was out side of it near the road. If he saw her, he would call for aid. There was nothing she could do. Her eyes closed again…

Leithlen
08-22-2007, 07:45 PM
Leithlen had just recently received word from Ranger Lord Hawkspear of the Quel'Lithien lodge, a group of high elves with who he was still in contact, despite some disapproval from the elders of Darnasus. Hawkspear told him of sighting a female human paladin with wearing a familiar tabard riding by with a crazed look upon her face, heading for the Ghostlands. She was described as small-framed with shoulder-length auburn hair - nearly a perfect match to Persefani, whom Leithlen hadn't seen in over a day.

Deciding that he had to follow the trail, Leithlen arrived within a half hour, landing in Lights Hope Chapel. He summoned his mount and pet and rode north towards Quel’Lithien lodge. Having only to avoid contact with the Scarlet Crusade’s riders that occasionally patrol that part of the road, he reached the lodge swiftly, as a ranger came out to meet him. The two exchanged salutes and the ranger filled Leithlen in with whatever additional details he could offer.

Leithlen then left on his mount with Tindoome following close beside him as they rode quickly for the Ghostlands. He had no idea really what to look for, but he had much training as a hunter and was prepared to use every ability at his disposal to find her. His job proved easier than he expected, however, when he reached the gates into the Ghostlands. He found a small pool of blood upon the stone floor of the giant archway into the forests. Following the road north, he found a steady stream of blood, with pools at even, steady intervals all along the trail. The frequency and spacing of the pools suggested a deep wound and a very slow rate of progress. Leithlen’s mind raced. For what reason would an Alliance paladin ride wounded into Blood Elf lands? He pressed his steed onwards, riding hard along the road.

Knowing he was nearly within view of Andilien Estate and not wanting to be spotted or ride into a waiting ambush, he used the eyes of the birds overhead to gain a vision of the town ahead. There he saw her, slumped over on her mount; her steed barely able to keep her upon its back. It was clearly Persefani and she was bleeding badly. The blood had stained her armor and that of her mount. A pool of blood lay growing beneath her. As he shifted his vision back to the surroundings, Leithlen saw a blood elf of the estate running towards her. The blood elf had not yet spoken or sounded the alarm, but Leithlen knew he would not have much time before the place was swarming with guards. He knew he had only moments to act.

Before even mounting himself, he sent his cat Tindoome racing ahead, dashing with all the energy available to him. He then mounted himself and gave chase. Tindoome ran past Persefani and her mount and stopped on the road, placing himself between Persefani and the approaching blood elf. Leithlen arrived at Persefani’s side soon after. Calling to Tindoome to growl fiercely to hold off the approaching blood elf, Leithlen grabbed Persefani off her mount as she slumped lifelessly into his left arm. Pulling her onto his mount and seating her before him, he whistled to Tindoome and Persefani’s mount to follow and took off for the border, riding with everything his mount had left.

As he approached the gate back out of the Ghostlands, his mount starting to slow. He knew he couldn’t keep riding like this with both of them upon one mount, but he knew he’d be able to stop at the lodge where the rangers could help him secure her to her own mount so he could lead them both back to the Chapel where she could be properly tended to. A single tear ran its way down his face. How had this happened to her? Why was she so badly hurt? What was she doing out her and why had she gone alone? These were questions that could not be answered now. His heart torn with worry about the woman he was falling in love with, they crossed through the gateway as his thoughts returned to the first time they had met in this region.

Closely as he could behind them, the blood elf had given a short chase, but lost sight of Persefani, Leithlen, their 2 mounts and the twilight runner Leithlen kept as a companion as they faded out of view through the archway.

Roth'rili
08-23-2007, 02:47 PM
Horse hooves crack and break large twigs as horse and rider move at incredible speed after leaving the viewing.

”Forgive me Nymare for having left and returning so late.”

But if she was not at the viewing then where was she heading to in the Ghostlands...and why didn't she make it?

Roth'rili repeats the question to himself as concern floods his face. His hands tug the reins to bring his horse to a steed stop.

"I have looked everywhere in Eversong woods to see if she was coming. Returned to the viewing to see if she some how passed me. Now I have been everywhere it seems like in Ghostlands and not a sig-"

His ears perk at the sound of a beast’s growl and the shouts of an angered man. His mouth opens and lets forth a sigh. Might as well call it, help those that I can. Pressing on with his steed toward the shouts, a exhausted man coming into view trying to catch his breath. Roth'rili looks down at the man from his steed, his hand reaching out to bask him in some comfort of the light.

"What is it Vor'el? You only have a few scratches her and there"

"Sir there were alliance within our territory. A Kal'dorei hunter's pet caused these wound, a mere distraction. I should have finished off that human when I had the chance!"

Roth'rili's ears perk instantly as his eyes fixate and glare at the apprentice, "Where did you see them? Where have they gone?!”

The apprentice recoils at the sudden surprise at the outburst from the knight. "They headed that way Sir..." Apprentice Vor'el points in the direction of the gates leading to the Eastern Plaguelands. Instantly Roth'rili was off, his eyes narrowing as a crackle of energy surrounds him and his stead. The aura's sign appearing below his horse's hooves as a sudden energy fills its muscles pressing it on.

Where would they go? Nearest place, nearest place... His eyes squint through the wind to catch large cat paws on the path. The lodge! I have relations with the high elves there, being one of them myself, or trying at least. Hopefully if anything their overlooking will have spotted something.

Has his steed presses on, a small figure begins to form in his vision. He scans it...a tail...two riders, It is them they are heading toward the lodge! After perusing for what seem longer then it should have taken, he reels himself to stop before the path up to the lodge. Dismounting gingerly holding the reels to his horse and walking up to the High Elven ranger. He flashes a smile and a nod, giving him a solitary salute, his sign to the elves that it is he and he means no harm.

Reaching the lodge, he notices the large Stormsaber the high elves tending to it and preparing for another travel it seems. Then he notices the charger...the one he helped her fund and receive. He looks to one of the men and to his horse, without speaking the man comes up and prepares it and rests it the same.

Roth begins to speak in Thalassain with the man "Where is the owner of that charger? Is she alright?”

"She was in some dire condition Roth, was with a Kal'dorei man. They took her inside to treat her as best as we can. We recommended they head to the Light's Hope Chapel though, not much we can do here"

"I know more like put a band aid over her wound and calling it healed," Roth snaps back as he strides into the lodge ignoring the man completely.

As he walks in it become apparent where she lies. A cluster of elves surround her bandaging her arm that bleeds abundantly. His legs suddenly sprint forward running to get to her side. He stops, noticing the elf there next to her. His bares his teeth as Roth’rili walks up recognizing him before standing over Persefani.

With butchered version of Common Roth speaks to him, "I am here to help. Please just let me do what I can."

Leithlen
08-26-2007, 11:55 PM
Leithlen turns his gaze from the High Elves tending to Persefani and stands to face the Blood Knight aproaching him with teeth bared.

Hearing the broken common, Leithlen replies in formal Thalassian, "There is no need to use the common tounge. I speak enough formal Thalassian for us to have what little conversation is required."

A smirk on his face, he continues, "So, you say you're here to help, but approach me with teeth bared? I am, of course, weary to trust a Blood Knight, but since the High Elves here accept you I suppose you could be of assistance. Obviously, Persefani is not in good condition. She will need to be taken immediatelly to somewhere she can be better cared for. I need to get her to Light's Hope chapel where we she can be stabilized overnight. An escort of our most trained soldiers are already on their way to meet us there, and in the morning we will begin moving her to locations of greater safety where she can be tended to by more skilled healers. Obviously, however, in her state, I will not be able to avoid or fight off the Scarlet Crusaders that patrol the road, and taking her off the road alone is risky at best. If you would assist me in clearing a path so that we might avoid the dangers of the road, it would be the best thing you could do to help her. After that she and I will be traveling with a large escort in to Alliance lands as soon as possible, so after we reach Light's Hope I'm afraid there is not much you can do but keep this whole thing secret. Will you do all this?"

Roth'rili pauses, asking "What then though? Where will you take her? I must know."

Leithlen sighs and looks over at Ranger Lord Hawkspear. Knowing the meaning of the look, the Ranger Lord nods in return. Leithlen returns his gaze to Roth'rili. "If you must know, and I am trusting you on your honor as a friend of the High Elves here, we will be taking her to the doctors of Theramore, the best in the land. We will use the old fortress of Stormguard Keep and the doctor their on our first night's stay and we will stay within the walls and keep of Menethil on the second night's stay. In three days time, we will arrive in Theramore where the doctors can heal her."

Leithlen pauses, then reminds Roth'rili, "If you care about her, you will not compromise our positions or her safety."

Roth'rili nods and stares at Leithlen, "If you insist that your doctors are necessary... My healing should be enough."

"Your heals can keep her alive, but a doctor will need to tend to the wound if her arm is to recover. Let us get our things and get going."

(( Private Messages will be sent out to organize these "3 days" as events. The "days" will, most likely, not be consecutive and happen over a few weeks as we're able to organize them. ))

((The trip here will have to be added later as it is on a bad hard drive I need to recover))

Confused…

He is alive. How could he be alive? I was on my way to his funeral when everything happened. I blacked out. I know it has been some time but still. How could this be? I was trying to make my way to Stormwind. As I make my way from the Wetlands to Dun Morogh as I am still too weak to fly I saw him. Him and his comrades…

Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen did an amazing job with my arm. In time, the scare will fade and no one will have to know. Word was sent out of my awakening yet no one came. I grew impatient over the next few days so I decided to leave on my own accord. While leaving the triage in the Theramore Keep I became light headed and decided not to fly. I took the boat to the harbor and started the long walk. I did not know where my charger had been left but from what I hear, Leithlen was the one to get me to Theramore. Why haven’t I seen him since I awoke? Maybe he is mad at me. Did he find out what I did or where I was going? I really missed Skafloc. How could I have been so dumb? I knew better. I was warned, yet I fell anyways.

All these thoughts running through my mind kept me in a daze while I traveled the road. I heard fighting up ahead. I decided to check it out. As I approached, I was coming up to the fight from the rear. I noticed him. SKAFLOC!!! He was alive and fighting. Before I realized it, Netheryn was on me, I was so weak I only had enough power to encase myself in a shield. I walked forward ignoring those around me to reach him, to reach Skafloc. My shield had worn away and the blades were felt upon my skin. I stood there and allowed them to destroy me without hesitation. All I could think was how he was a live and healthy. I was barely there due to him and he was fine…he was fine…

Did he see me? Did he even care?
