The story was excellent stuff! I really enjoyed it!
Regarding Naxxramas itself... that opinion sums up mine:
Thanks for yet another advancement in the main storyline that only raiders can take part in.
I'm sure the Agrent Dawn will have some neat-o grinding quests that let's the non-raiders buy boot polish for the raiders, to help them with yet another content-filled patch aimed directly at them.

Very nice, I look forward to seeing the actual thing in the game.

You won't, that's what tickles me... :?
At best we will see something floating in the sky above Stratholme while running the instance, that's my guess.
Dire Maul was the last 5-man PvE content released... in patch 1.3 ! That's seven patches ago, each patch taking in average 6 weeks to come out... Am I the only one laughing to tears (sad ones) about it?

No no no! This thread is not about the instance! It's about the story I posted and the Lore behind it.
..Discuss. :P

Yes, the lore is great, but I dont feel there is much do discuss about it.

Well, I was more or less curious as to what it might mean in the dungeon itself...
Obiously there is going to be 4 wings.. So.. it might look like UC.

((Thing Im really excited about in this patch is my elementalist build that a lot of mages scoff at (even though many good mages have enjoyed it) will become a powerhouse if people plan on being useful in all instances (MC/BWL/Nax), wh00t!

The irony being that a large portion of raiders don't care at all about lore or plot advancement, yet they're getting all the fun storylines.

But what about us Raiding, PvPing Roleplayers? We get sweet-assed storylines and new phat lewtz to go with them!
Subsequently, there's phat lewt I want for RP purposes, but I need to kill Lashlayer and farm Silithid carapaces for three frigging years ;_;

I have to say that the story is the best lore that Blizzard has released since WoW came out.
Although the story only expands on Warcraft III lore, it had the same feeling and complexity that Blizzard is traditionaly known for in its stories.
I suspect that for those who enjoy story and lore, we will only get our fix through the story. The actual dungeon (Raid/5man/both) will likely not have much lore at all and just have rooms with undead mobs to clear out until you get to the boss..preety much the same grinding template as any other dungeon.
As for casual content; I read somewhere that the different wings of the dungeon are basically different instances (similar to Scarlet Monastery). One or two wings will be 5 man, another will be raid (large) while another will be Raid (medium) or something along those lines.
I for once hope that it has more absorving and well thoughtout scripted events during it for immersion but I suspect that it will just be another Grind factory.

I just hope Kel'Thuzad is a really kick-ass encounter! Mmmm... Death and Decay... I loved that Lich spell in WC3... Course I'm sure it won't be any fun when I'm on the receiving end.

Start Collecting Frost Resistance.
The NEcropolis arrives in a HUGE World Event. Eyonix has said that Scourge will be invading EVERYWHERE (Possibly on Both Continents since their main headquarters in Kalimdor is the Quillboar City of Razorfen Downs), in huge numbers when Naxxramas Necropolis will be VISIBLY broken through the Earth to hover menacingly over Stratholme.
There will be no attunement quest or key needed for the area, who's OUTSIDE INSTANCE space will be bigger than the entirety of Lordaeron.
Favorite quotes from the story:
"In return for immortality, you agreed to serve him," Kel'Thuzad mused aloud. Remarkable.
"'Agreed' implies choice."
A wraith behind him said, "We cannot rest. Why should you?"
The necromancer spoke directly to Kel'Thuzad then in a voice that was no longer even remotely kind. Let this be your first lesson. I have no love for you or your people. On the contrary, I intend to scour humanity from this planet, and make no mistake: I have the power to do it.
The best part, I believe, was actually reading what happens when a human becomes Undead from the plague. It was very graphic.

Indeed... truly made my skin crawl... when she devoured her lover.
-shudder- That's why I can't take horror movies.. the screams.. the noises..

I dont know why people say that raid instances dont have any lore in them...its not like a big sign is hanging over everything with lore involved, but its still there if you read it, the boss fight starting /yells, any quests relating to your area...what NPCs nearby say (Argent dawn guys!) all that ties into the lore and then when you actually get into the instance and see it for yourself everything can click together.

I'd have to agree. These aren't exactly just rooms full of mobs for you to mindlessly go through and kill. Each one represents something specific. There are reasons for them all to be there, and backstory to explain their presence. End-game doesn't neccessarily have to be anti-rp.

yeah but it gets real old and it looses the feel once you have do the run 100 times for some item

There is lore hanging over everything. This entire game is so steeped in a rich, detailed history, you could teach a University course on "History of Azeroth"

For about the first four months the server was up.
I had over 50 people come since I made it a Live event in Thunder Bluff.
