If this report is right ... soon Battlegrounds will pull from multiple realms. 16 each, as it happens.

Hmm...yeah, its been talked about before...but Im not really sure if they're actually going to implement this. It would be *wise* to do, and make the queues go a lot faster, but then again...Blizz has never been very good at doing the right thing :P

This would make me very happy. I've kinda given up on advancing through the ranks after I hit rank 8, just because I don't have the time to get online and stare at queues that fire maybe one per hour. This would speed things up great, and make me very happy.

It would also severely inflate honor rating, thus making something like 300,000 (An UNgodly amount guaranteed for being top 3 in standing), very little.

I personally dislike this idea. I enjoy servers remaining independant of eachother, and I like knowing the people that I'm fighting are actually doing things other than killing me on my server.

This guy also has no proof at all, lists no credentials, no evidence. I think he's making that up.

Sorry to say that he's not.

Eyonix and Caydiem have both mentioned it.

I'm not a huge fan of it either.

I can see the good side, shorter wait times (theoretically). My first server was a plain ol' pvp server, and allies would have to wait 3hours plus for one game. At least we could find some world pvp battles while we were waiting, but still... when you're in the mood for wsg, you are in the mood for wsg.

However, I really liked the sense of community that is fostered by single-realm bgs. I like to know that that orc who's killing me is on this server, and that I may be able to get my revenge... in another game or in the world. I feel that the multi realm ques will just be too impersonal.

Also, man would that screw up the honor requiremtns for HW/GM.

Proof? Links?

*sighs* I'm really, really hoping this isn't true. It would make my server feel less special. I want to be on my server. I don't want to fight and/or work with people from other servers. If I did, I would be on their server. Not my server. The different servers are supposed to be DIFFERENT places. That is ripping up the very fabric of our universe(s) so a few whiny "q <Battleground> omg" kiddies don't have to wait as long to flex their epeen. Great. I guess I'll have to hit HWL before Blizzard turns BGs into Battlenet 2.0, so I don't have to take any part in it.

/end rant

As long as it is similar servers.

RP to RP
RP-PvP to RP-PvP
PvP to PvP
Normal to Normal

Pro's
- Bitching will minimize about the queue
- Possibility of a flourished reputation of the 'good folk'
- Better chance of seeing "something different," and minimizing the honor farming of a "good" group to a "bad" group

Con's
- Bitching will heighten on cheats/haxs/cross-realm bitching/forum trolling
- The freaks come out at night. The freaks come out at night.
- Stupid Player 1: "LAWL y r u arpeeing!? TN is stupdi"
Odon: "LAWL!@ who is Abric."

I agree that if they implement this they should stick with similar realm types. Personally, I'm not sure yet whether this is a good idea or a bad one. Honor is relative to the people in your faction on your realm. So even though the requirements to get HWL will go up, the amount of honor everyone is getting (assuming you can get into games faster) will be relatively more anyway. If they do implement it, I would hope they'd also reintroduce join as group for AV - GAWD am I ever sick of pugs in there.

Despite being hard core RP, I have given up roleplaying in the battlegrounds, so server type really doesn't matter to me. To be truly excellent in the BGs, you either need to use teamspeak or you have to be short and sweet in your typing.

For example:

4 INC at LM!
HELP LM!

... and with luck, help arrives in time. However ...

HORDE! The Alliance are preparing to attack Lumber Mill! We need reinfor ...*GAHHHHH GARGLE BLARGH ....*

You see my point. My only concern is that the queue be shorter. And I actually like the idea of having a broad base of players - I got really really sick of seeing the same folks in the BGs every bracket. I like the diversity.

After all, aren't there supposed to be thousands and thousands of people in this world?

I too think that the overall diversity of people and shortened queues would outshine the disadvantage of a honor inflation. You get to play much more and have more fun playing with a lot of different people... and "queue traps" like Red Sector A having their own BG but not winning it to farm Hordes that join it would likely be drowned by the masses of players from all servers.

Wait, 300,000 isn't really that much even now, if you PvP regularly.

It sure is Keraph. It's enough to gaurantee top 10
