Unexpectedly logging out

Several times in my last few visits I have tried to post only to find I had been logged out. I did not close my browser or leave the webpage. I was definitely signed in when I began my posts. It is a minor annoyance.

This may be a dumb question, but is the "Remember Me" box checked when you log in? If not, you get logged out after 10 minutes.

What Icia said. I've also bumped up how long default sessions last from 15 minutes to one hour.


Only downfall is now it'll appear more people are "online" than actually are. I know if I'm PM'ing someone I'll sometimes pay attention to the "Who's online", so if anyone thinks having people show up in that list for an hour is a bad idea, let me know.

Not sure if this is related, but it started happening around the time we started getting high amounts of users online.

It seems that when I leave the site for an extended time and come back, the site no longer remembers the threads that I most recently read. It is like it rolled back three hours or so, so I can't use the shortcuts to the most recent posts in those threads.
