View Full Version : Molten Core (And endgame in general)

(( This topic, at least for me, is completely OOC. ))
I am making this post to ask if anybody is aware of -any- group that is trying to get into endgame, getting into endgame, or is getting along in endgame that may have the space for another gungho warrior such as myself. Or better yet, a group that may still need a few more people, and would be interested in allying with Confusion (or at least letting the lot of us tag along).
My motivation comes primarily from my desire to see what Molten Core is like from a warrior's perspective. I have been going to Molten Core with my shaman on Silver Hand for about... 5 months now? Healing has been fun, though I can't help but wonder what it would be like to tank/DPS.
I am not going to lie and say I'm not interested in the loot (like a spiffy new weapon. Gear dependancy agogo). However, I am much more interested in just experiencing it from a new perspective.
Anyone got any leads? Anything at all?

How good of a tank are you? I know there are some new people to MC and if you were properly specced and knew how to stance dance (magmadar!) I'm sure people would LOVE you for that (if they know anything about the fight), if you dont know how...well finding the MTs for the high end guilds and asking them might work, some are friendly I'm sure :)

(( Some of my folks have been there a few times as guests of another guild. A lot of us are still getting attunements and keys and stuff. I'd definitely be interested in arranging something with yas if we're on similar time schedules. Most of my guildies would go 5-10pm server time, though there's a lot of us that are more along the lines of 8pm-1am during the week. Weekend attendance is kinda random, but I bet a lot my folks would make plans to show up for something like this. ))

I posted something similar on the immortalis boards, looking to get the epic elemental lw cloak pattern from dm tribute and as I reach 60 (55 atm) get into decent endgame instance groups (scholo/strath/dm/zg/lbrs ubrs brd).
Jamaryste is 55 with rank 4 stealth (whisperwalk boots), rank 3 imp sap and blade flurry (6/21 or 22/18).
My warrior on malygos got 60 and into some pugs for strath, but aside from lbrs on him and brd on Jama (and stealth running around scholo last night and dm a few times) I haven't done much endgame instancing, but I want to.

The <Forgotten Legion> mercs out <Grim> to fill ranks, but other than that, we sometimes use <Vendetta> and <Blood Guard>, but the raids in Molten Core and Zul'gerub (4 Bosses down!) are mostly us. We also do AQ20 as well (Kurinax on farm status).
We're usually full booked--and overflowing--on warriors and rogues. However, the last week we've had major trouble on Magmadar which I fully put on the hands of the warriors who do not have the skill to make themselves immune to his fears. I could do it, but I'm not about to put plate back on.

/bump for love because the 'Ward is going to MC tonight with the Rooks, and Fhen needs to keep up gear-wise, else I mash him to pieces.

Ah yes... the end game.
I know I read something about the Crimson Watch forming a new alliance called... something. You'd have to check their boards (which I don't know on hand, I'm at work and not at home.)
Also, Forgotten Legion does fill out their raids with other guilds, like the Nuke said - though to point out the Grim does not have any official ties to that. It's a strict OOC/Individual thing. We don't require teamspeak/vent and our raid is IC... theirs isn't. DOOM!
... on that, I'd venture that you can *try* to confront the Grim with it; but good luck. Talk to Ravovich about Molten Core... heh, or Muatah. You'll love their reponses, but if you are persitent enough and want to go arpee on it; you may walk away with some end game. Or some fun tauren stuff!
I also believe there is another pact of smaller guilds somewhere in the Horde. I don't remember who I heard it from, or what it was called... but it is there somewhere.

OP: I can't help you with the "who's going" part but I can tell you what it's like to be a warrior in MC (at least to Luci).
(They don't call it "Molten Snore" for nothing.)
My synopsis of off tanking during the Luci fight:
-MT has aggro: stand there (other tanks were assigned for the adds).
-MT dies: taunt Luci away from the castors and being sundering.
-Sunder armor.
-Sheild block.
-Main tank is combat rezzed.
-Revenge.
-Sunder armor.
-Priests heal newly rezzed main tank and forget about the current tank.
-Die.
-Spend 6 minutes watching the fight until I'm booted to the GY.
Anyway, good luck on your run.
And if my post above doesn't sound exciting, don't feel bad. As a Paladin I will be spamming buffs while wearing a dress in MC. :/

((I've always thought that from an RP perspective, the only thing you can do for Molten Core is, as some have said, picture yourself as an army. You are NOT valiant heroes conquering insurmountable odds, you're a regulated, trained and disciplined fighting force of grunts(as all raids are. Not much room for improvisation). I think that drilling that into the heads of newcomers to the core is important to both get them in the right frame of mind for rping, as well as doing their job. Unfortunately, it does little to excise the boredom. I think the only half-baked cure for that is a little well-themed music =).
Opinions aside, I'm myself interested in attending Molten Core, with a fully RP group. I wouldn't mind getting both loot (all important for warriors), as well as seeing just how people DO rp there. At the same time, I've been to MC at least 30 times on my old character, as well as extensive experience in ZG and BWL, and I know raiding would take away a lot of time in getting my guild organized, so I don't see that happening anytime soon. That said, along with all the other work I'm trying to get started <rolls eyes>, seeing what RP raiding alliances are currently in place would be good to be as informed as I can.))

Infection, Death Before Dishonor, The Immortalis, and other smaller RP guilds are in the process of planning MC runs, but we're not quite there yet. Talk to Gorthok about it.

Whaddya mean it's not in character ABric?
I'm always in character. "nuff said
Uhh..always except here in this instance.
I wouldn't think Ravovich'd have that big a problem. You seen his shiny new Tier 1 shoes from Lucifron?
Anyway: Before going in Molten Core:
Get Attuned with a 5-man Blackrock Depths Run (Quest from the High Elf by the Core Resonating Crystal at the bottom of the Spire); If you need help, ask me.
Go to Duke Hydraxis in Azshara, do the Two Prequests in Silithus and the Eastern Plaguelands.
Once these two things are done, then we'll talk.

I'll rephrase. The Grim does not have an in character agreement/coalition/alliance with Forgotten Legion due to their raid chat being out of character and the requirement of their raiders to have vent. The Grim do not require this out of their members; but do not discourage Grim members to participate with the Forgotten Legion; because they are a roleplay guild and are good people. Grim participants are individuals... of DOOM! Heh, I know Vuudu put an IC post about it somewhere.
... And watch that lip or I will make it a personal quest to ensure your arms stay at a 45 degree angle.
Why? PUSH UPS BOOT! I hope you did at least 10 of them before you even replied to this post. Then... after you finished, ANOTHER 10 push ups.
10 push ups an hour. From the time you wake up to the time you go to bed. Skip Sundays and Tuesdays... and it doesn't matter where you are.
Less post! More push ups! *Shakes the anchor around*
