Well I decided to log onto my main tonight (Jeedup, 40 troll warrior) instead of trying to lvl my warlock (Tergar. 13 orc, whos in the new Sanctuary guild) and decided to lvl abit in Feralas.

Its always seemed that decorations isn't exactly the Hordes speciality, as stepped out of the Inn i noticed a gigantic glowing crystal floating in the middle of the Camp M. Well, I was more than intrigued so I decided to take a closer look when I seemed to no longer control myself and attacked both guard and adventurer alike.

((anyone else noticing this happening? this something to do with AQ popping maybe? the curse in plays said Ctan or something like that))

I've not heard of such a phenomenon..

If you consider it related to the Silithid nest south of the Wildpaw Lands, then I will investigate it on behalf of Zilzibin Drumlore

Those crystals have erupted all across Kalimdor, stretching C'thun's reach to those nearby it. I would not approach it, as it can take hold of your body, and silithid and anubisath regularly guard it. Prepare yourself, for now we must prepare against a force unlike that seen since one thousand years past, perhaps stronger, and beware the whisperings of C'thun, lest you lose yourself completely to him.

I have to admit, even I was unable to resist it once, in Gadgetzan. I was forced to kill several guards, along with a Forsaken warlock that came too close to my rampage. Once I regained myself, I apologized to the undead that I had killed, and proceeded to take vengeance on several Silithid nearby.

((And it popped Retaliation! What a waste of a thirty minute cooldown.))

An old magic-junkie like me could hardly resist C'Thun's embrace. This being seems to infuse me with powers rivaling that which I once used to destroy my home. While the rush is certainly intoxicating, and I'm a little ashamed to admit I've willingly embraced C'Thun's buzz many times, this really must be stopped.

Has anyone found a way to banish or seal these crystals? How do we go about finding this "C'Thun"?

((I think my guildies found that crystal...I was reading in guild chat how killbeast was trying to get mind controlled and then had 10k HP, a few minutes later cinderblock was yelling 1635 FROSTSHOCK!!!!!!, fun stuff))

Yes, it's part of the Silithilus / AQ stuff.

I saw them on my warrior on another server. And that's a great question Fallacy. When my warrior got MC'd the first thing I did was run over and use Slam on some poor lowbie. I mean Slam?? I have all kinds of cool stuff I can do ... and the crystal picked Slam.

It goes to show: Silithids are n00bs.

MC AI is dumb at best. There was a rogue in my high-end guild that always got MCed at Luci, and all Luci would make him do was pop Adrenaline, then shoot people with his crossbow. ;)

((Oh, that wasn't nearly the case with me. I had at least four guards on me, along with a couple Alliance, and it made me nearly invincible like that.

*Your normal attack crits for 2145 damage.*

It used Mortal Strike, Heroic Strike, Hamstring, about every ability I use in PvP.))

I always get MC'd. Luci mc's me. The boss in live strat mc's me. Heck, that first RFK boss use to do it too.

Then everyone kills me so they can jump ahead of me in the dps meters while I'm laying there dead :P

Reassembling the Scepter of the Shifting Sands: Lots of time.

Gathering and donating materials to fuel the war effort: Even more time and money.

Getting mind-controlled by a crystal in Gadgetzan and going on a muderous epic-fueled rampage on players and guards alike, ultimately ending in being "Unfriendly" with Goblin towns: PRICELESS.

To Witness the Lidless Eye will only deliver death. "Do not seek Death" is what you were told in Brill, was it not?
(over a million damage per shot)
