View Full Version : Longcat thinks...
Longcat

I'm not too sure if I'll return to this server once all my projects and report are complete at the end of April. I've already been gone for half of March too but... I haven't really felt too much in coming back. I don't know if it's because I haven't played in so long or have got sick of playing Horde all the time. I just don't feel too up to playing in this server honestly.
What?! The Lord of Cats might leave? Bah!
But hey, if you're not having fun, then it's time to do something else for a while eh?
If you go, you will be missed, I can tell you that.

You could always reroll alliance... >_>

But deleting Longcat and my other horde characters from TN is a bit hard. I don't actually have access to another account, nor have any plans to get one.

Then the only thing I can say is that KUMQUATS make everything better.
...don't ask. I just like that word.
I need scissors. 61!

I'd at least want to transfer the money I have on Longcat and my other characters onto an alliance character if I stay on TN.

That'd be kinda hard to do. Can't really auction it, nor mail it. O_o how would you solve that prediciment?

Pretty easy actually. Someone on alliance side he trusts puts up a worthless item for the amount of gold he has on the Gadgetzan AH, he buys it, person on alliance gives his new character the gold.

Yeah, shame the neutral AH likes to take a bite out of the money though.
I'd have to be absolutly sure if I'm changing sides before I make any plans for this. At the moment, I'm not sure. Hell, I don't even know much about the alliance RP guilds here. :p

Lotsa choices, from smaller rl friend based ones like Swordwaltzers and us to bigger, more organized options like IF Reg. and KoStrom.
Hope you stick around one way or another; I'm sure we can find a spot for you with a group you'd enjoy.

I ponder doing alliace from time to time, but no way in hell would I delete my characters to do it. Keep the cat master. If you have to try alliace, try another server.

*Xeran appears on camera complete in a tux and Bob Barker microphone*
"LONGCAT YOU'VE WON!!
That's right, Longcat! You've won an all-expense-paid trip to the Alliance!"
*Xeran waves his arm and a stunning night elf female swings open a glittering curtain displaying the Alliance Wall of Prizes*
*The crowd goes wild*
"As a new member of the Alliance you'll have access to some of the most interesting and exciting content in the game! Ironforge, Stormwind and Darnassus await you!"
*Pictures flash by of the cities and the crowd 'ooos' and 'ahhs'*
"Once you join us, you'll also get the following perks:
- Libraries and Taverns!
- Friendly and helpful flight masters!
- Gnomes!
- Teammates that think they are Drittit Durdn or Legolas!"
*The crowd goes suddenly silent*
*Xeran fidgits ...*
"Err ...
- Night Elf Female Dancing!"
*The crowd cheers*
"All that and much, much more can be yours for joining the Alliance!"
But seriously ...
If you've only played Horde before, I would recommend joining the Alliance side. I played Horde-only before I came here and I'm loving it. It's pretty much all new for me at this point. I also play a paladin because I've never had access to the class before TN. The RP is decent and I've found people pretty helpful for the most part.
If you do decide to reroll, look me up in-game. I'd be happy to help with your money transfer too, if you need it. You might also consider DEing your Soulbound gear and AHing the shards before you transfer to get some extra money out of it.
That being said, you may just want to take your break and then come back and see if you can approach the Horde with renewed interest before switching. You've invested a lot of time in Longcat, so you may not want to just rush into something.
Good luck, whatever you decide!

I've been taking a break from horde for a long time before my classwork got in the way. Then when i finally did log in... I didn't feel really up to playing Longcat anymore. It's just the same old places I grinded with my old characters on a PvP server. Sure I can RP too, but at the most I can only get into Longcat's accent rather than his past and ect. I've been skipping out on most of the horde events and TN meetings. Well, the meetings are because of some people I dislike but anywho.
I think it would be better if I just rerolled on Alliance. I've done horde to death. I'd like to get away from some people from Horde. And I don't exactly want to go out hunting for a new RP community that's half as set as this one.
So why don't y'all give me a nice big desc of how your RP guilds are over there?

Well, one category of rp guilds are the smaller, tight knit groups like us (Order of Turalyon - formerly Blood Ravens) and the swordwaltzers, among others. Obviously each guild has a differnet story, but as for ours:
'Comprised formerly of the founders of the Blood Ravens, the Order of Turalyon rose when their leader, the warlock Netherlyn, fell from grace then further still. Seemingly guided by sign and fate, each member in their separate way came to know the story of Turalyon intimately in the weeks that followed. Recognizing a kinship through experience, the Order was formed with the blessings of the Archbiship: A place for souls with all manner of dark stains and blood in their past to find focus for their vengence and hone it into justice. Without the Order, many of these former ruthless individuals, criminals, and convicts would fall back to their old ways. With the Order, the fire in their hearts is used for the Light to devestating effect.'
Or something like that. Many of the smaller guilds have similarly extensive backgrounds both in concept and from game experience. There are also larger groups like IF regiment with many more members, but I'll let them comment on themselves.

Why do you always have to be so negative?
Xeran

The Ironforge Regiment comes to mind - I always have a good time when they're around. In fact if you have any inclination to roll a dwarf character, I'd highly recommend them.
Broken Dagger is another one (many members were IFR then Sgian Duhb before becoming Broken Dagger).
Swordwaltzers - I haven't interacted much with them, but I hear they really like to RP.
Tears of Elune - I used to be a Tear. They seem to do a lot of touchy-feely type events, but they have an OOC channel and I enjoyed my time with them.
The Greyward - Rhowen's group. They are a mercenary guild. Since Rho posts here a lot, I'll let her speak to what they're all about.
The Blades of Lorderon (sp?) and the Keepers of Stromgarde are other RP guilds. I have had little interaction with either group and have heard negative things about both. The Alliance, sadly, seems prone to petty intrigue and political in-fighting so the negatives could just be jealously or other nonsense. The limited experiences I have had showed nothing negative from either, however. If you're looking for RP, they both have it.
I think it would be cool to RP the cross-over. Maybe instead of dying, Longcat goes on vacation! Or opens a surf shop near Orgrimmar. :)

Longcat's most likely to open a snowcone shop or do some big-game fishing both in Booty Bay. Or some combination of all that and a pit bbq grill.

Blades of Lordaeron are a mercenary group and they're one of the furthest high-end rp guilds we have over here as far as I know.
Rooks are also a good bunch, on the larger side. We Dwarves have accompanied them into Zul'Gurub once or twice, as well as being summoned by them into a building at the back of Orgrimmar last night. Fun stuff.
The Keepers of Stromgarde are obviously deeply involved with the fact that Stromgarde has, mostly, been lost. Good RPers, rather into the fighting of Horde.
Yay for Swordwaltzers! I've had me some dealings with them, particularly Kurohane, and they're a nice, tight-knit group.
Broken Dagger used to be an IFR sister guild, because certain members wanted to allow for other races, specifically gnomes. We've got close relations with them and again, a good, smaller, tight-knit group, but with close communication with us, you won't exactly be pressed for good mates to adventure with.
Then there's us. If you roll dwarf, and aren't sure quite how to rp one, or just love the Dwarven mentality, we're both a great place to start and a great place to stay. Got a bunch of us of all levels so you wont be having to do the mad rush to catch up with the rest. Two basic rules for getting in: RP, and be level 10. Keeps those pesky forgotten alts out =)
I hope this has been some help, and, if and when you do Reroll, I hope to see you around!

Not too sure what I'll roll as... maybe a dwarf hunter.
Thanks for all your guild posts in here. I'm going to wait until all the guilds have put in their advertisments before poking people for more information.

Actually, the Greyward's closing recruitment for a week or two after this weekend. The leadership is having some estrangement troubles, and we're currently reworking the whole system so all the work doesn't fall on one person (aka me. ^_^''). After that, we'll be having a few guild get-togethers, to get the newer recruits situated with the old, and of course, hopefuls and all other people will be as welcome, as always.
As long as you don't mind getting drunk and doing a bit of bare-knuckle boxing.
So yeah, I'll make a post after the shake-down.

Welcome to the Alliance, if you re-roll. ^.^
I'm in the Blades, which I think is a fantastic guild. I'd peg us as medium rp-we're mercenaries; have an ic gc with an ooc chanel. We respond to a lot of rp events and have some heavy rp-ers, we just don't tend to throw many of our own. A lot of freindly players here.
One problem is that we are skewed to higher level players (most of our guild is 60) but we tend to be a generally helpful and friendly bunch.
There are a bunch of other awesome rp guilds ally side, Ironforge Regiment, Swordwaltzers, The Greyward, Keepers of Stromguard... and a whole smattering of smaller ones and others whose names I can't remember right now ( Sorry, I'm horrible with names!)
It's really fun here. And definately do the gadgetzan zh thing. The goblins take a good cut (greedy bastards!) but starting up with a good amount of cash is definately worth the hassle.
If you do re-roll look me up sometime, Ryona, dwarf priest.

Thats exactly what I did with Lupa as I took my hiatus a while ago. I started playing just for fun a Human rogue on Smolderthorn (PvP, but alas, not RP).
My stories actually started taking on a life of their own and opened a whole new world to explore here and revitalized my interest in Lupa, even if my time constraints meant end game raiding would be difficult for me.
Longcat, I wish you well and hope you will return once you have had a chance to get your Alliance fix, if even just to drop by from time to time.
You are a fascinating person and truly enrich the RP scene here on TN.
Good Luck!
Lupa.
P.S. Karkarov, I will try to be more "talkative" in the future.. :P
