I'm sure you're all familiar with Lore, right? Well, what about an Rp mod that allowed you to speak one of Tolkien's langauges? Might be interesting. At least its a full language and not random words based on the number of letters in the common word... Any ideas, suggestions, etc?

Well, you can techincally do that with Lore.
You have to make it into a dialect and replace every single word that you would use with the tranlstaed word in tolkin. That's what I do with Longcat. He speaks kind of like a Warhammer Ork.

'ere we go, 'ere we go, 'ere we go,
'ere we go, 'ere we go, through the cosmos
'ere we go, 'ere we go, 'ere we go,
'ere we go, 'ere we go, through infinity
'ere we go, 'ere we go, 'ere we go,
'ere we go, 'ere we go, don't know where 'til we get there
much as I hope that WoW orks don't all start adopting GW orc mannerisms.

Random aside: If I ever make an orc, he's gonna be from the Warsong Clan. Grom = awesome.
I AM IRONMAN!
((No idea if they're really allied with the Horde...isn't that lumber camp in Ashenvale Warsong orcs? And don't they...attack the Horde? O_o ))

Never attacked me. Seem like kindly, hard-workin' orc, those Warsong do.

You have to respect them: look at the size of the trees they chop ! It takes a hell of an axe to do that !

Yeah, I guess my poor tauren was getting pwned by slimes and spiders and I just blamed the mean orcs that didn't help. :(

Where can I learn to create a dialect with Lore? So all those troll players out there that unfailingly manage to speak in an accent... they're probably using lore?

You have to get a lua file editor.
And I think the troll players just type it on their own. That's what I've been doing, the dialect in Lore's there just incase I forget some words.

My only question is why you would want to use Tolkien's languages in WoW, when we already have the spoken languages of the world impliment in the game.

To feel 'special'.
I dunno.
I don't even stay true to how the orks speak in WH. I just have the general dialect and a few use.

For the same reason people think their characters should be able to speak languages that the game mechanics don't allow.
But of course, this just stems from my personal vendetta with Lore. ;)

I'm sure you can do all of this when LotR Online comes out, but this is WoW.
I'll be happy with speaking Druidic thanks to lore... We already have languages Lore has gladly given to us.

The warsong clan were the last orcs to be cleansed of the demonic blood pact/taint. That's why they were hostile in Warcraft 3. Once Thrall and Grom killed Mannoroth, the taint/pact was broken, and it freed the orcs to return to their shamanistic and noble heritage.
As for Lore... not sure. Never really played with it. I have way too many mods as is. One thing is for certain, however, and that's the fact that the orcs are not crazy stupid bloodthirsty beings incapable of comprehensible speech, nor is shakespearean proper given the warcraft setting. We know how people in the warcraft world speek. You will never see a thee, thou, or thy in any of the quest or spoken dialog, or hear one in any of the cutscenes. The warcraft world doesn't take itself too seriously... there's no reason the players should either.

Lore, true to it's name, actually does come from Blizzard-made languages. A few of the dialects are restricted in how varied they are, but, according to what I've read, the makers of Lore worked with Blizzard on some parts to create the languages, specifically Nerubian, Elemental, and a few others, since many of those are commonplace in-game. Not a single thing that's been taken from other games or literature is in it, besides a few substitutions to keep the languages from sounding monotone.
