Thurgo

Where was the Blood Brigade? Can't stop the Honor Guard if you don't respond to our attacks.

As Lailinarel stated, the attack on Silvermoon today was a conclusion of a two month event organized and conducted by the Honor Guard, an alliance of roleplaying guilds focused on RP and defending Azeroth and the Alliance. The Honor Guard (http://honorguard.dunedainrangers.net) was formed 6 months ago and is comprised of:
the Sons of Cenarius (led by myself),
the Ironforge Regiment (led by Drankherk and Duryea),
the Sword of the Morning (led by Camaris and Lailinarel),
the House of Arkhel (led by Cyrus)
and Tirisfalen (led by Kiraena).

We had invited a few friendly guilds to join us, as well as anyone reading the Alliance section of the TNG. Unfortunatelly, however, only Fabled Order sent troops to assist, but we were able to fill one complete raid despite many people missing from each of our guilds. As Thurgo said, we succesfully marched through the entire city with minimal trouble until we got to the Blood Elf leader, where a troup of mages blasted most of our party to death. We then fought our way back out the other way.

We will be submitting the story of the event (with pictures) to the TNG stories section shortly.

Arkhel is still around, and Duryea leads IFR? Wow.

And yes, I always get weepy-eyed whenever I see old, familiar faces Alliance-side.

Arkhel has always been around, though laying low and sometimes unnoticed on the streets of Stormwind, we've never left. Prouldy standing by with our Allies and the Honor Guard.

I was offline! :( And I was late when Arkhel hit a couple people in Tranquillien.. (Takes a LOOOONG time to go from Kalimdor to Silvermoon.)

Lucky they ran though, Fhenrir came to help Tranq. :P

Darn, we missed a good fight with Fhenrir then. We saw Chingaso, but he didn't stick around after being hit with a LARGE hail of arrows. (Didn't take but one call of "hey it's Chingaso from The Grim" for everyone in the raid to turn and fire on him.) After that we pretty much only had resistance from a few solo players of season and the rest were Blood Elves in their 20's and 30's who followed us around clapping like idiots.

My hockey league got in the way (as it does with most Sun. events), but it sounds like everything went very well from what I got from Haldren. I'll save any other back-patting for the HG forums.

I'd heard less glorious things about it. Mainly that NPCs were being camped for 2 hours.

Kiraena

Once we were finally situated and on the move through the portal, the raid lasted 1.5 hours. 30 minutes of that was spent RPing it out along the way and standing at the gates for 10 minutes unarmed (well, some of us). After taking over the bar (Hey, the dwarves demanded some ale) we managed to get out of the city. The force was halved at that point so we went on a tour of the newbie lands to explore and admire the sights. The NPCs there can't be attacked yet alone camped. I left soon after so I can't say for sure what happened, but I do know that almost the entire raid dispersed at that point.

To the defenders, huge kudos. You were outnumbered but still put up a hell of a fight. The fountain battle was the most memorable. Bigger applause to the younger blood elves that flagged and helped defend. It was a great time despite the repair bill. :)

Yeah the guards weren't a problem, neither was the 62 warrior who responded, it was Fhenrir that tore me a new one out in Tranq.

Oh I know! Having spent months as Upae the NE druid, Lupa would have had so many RP dilemnas to face had she been there. A lot of her old guildmates from Tirisfalen as well as friends from other guilds were probably present.

Ironically, she is in Silvermoon City from the last time I logged off her..

As Cyrus said, you heard wrong. After we left Silvermoon, we toured the "starting" area, then we moved out into the greater Silvermoon area and hit various locations... What can I say, Cyrus wanted to see - and clear - all of them. However, we never stuck around any one for more than 5-10 minutes and were REALLY hoping that all of the commotion would cause some of the Blood Brigade to come out to meet us; or any organized force really. Maybe even an unorganzied one from those that fought us within the city. Unfortunatelly, it was only a sporadic few low-season Blood Elves who came out to see us, and most of them just followed us around un-flagged.

I came back when you were bottled up in the inn. Fish in a barrell baby.
Well, by that point I had no idea WHO was there. Turned into a chaotic bar fight at that point. All I ever saw were the preist and shaman who kept running into our midst to fear and totem drop. I guess we sort of spoiled DeStrasza's idea of a voilence free Silvermoon inn! Leave it to the dwaves to insist on visiting every enemy bar in Azeroth, stealing their ale and starting a huge fight!

Anyway, this is just the start for us. The Honor Guard has spent about 6 months providing much-needed coordinated defense for Alliance towns and cities. We've grown a good bit and gotten much better organized. We're in the final stages of the build-up, restructuring/reorganizing, and if everything goes smoothly, we will soon be ready to really revive the Alliance-side contingent of Twisting Nether RP-World PvP. At that point, I hope we can bring back the epic battles and events that happened in the earlier days in the server's history.

Meaning you did leave for awhile. :P Its hard to keep track of all those red names! The inn/bar was a very bad idea, but live and learn. It was awesome in there for the few times we could drink and enjoy it.

Oh, and official RP story posts are coming soon! Would love to see reactions from both sides of the field and perhaps what develops because of it.

Have to admit though... when you see shouts of "Fer Magni!" and "High Axe!" followed immediately by "Get the ale!" as every shorty dwarf around you moves like a flock of birds into the bar, its funny as hell.

Eh, sorry.. we're not big yet.. and I wan't on so I don't know who was... oh, and also.. the people who were supposed to ... "get my attention" never called me.. So.. yell at Tindary and Koenig! >=3

Our highest level is only 32 anyway, we wouldn't have put up much of a fight either.. I would have tried to pull you back to the two lines of guards in front of Sunfury Spire. >.> To help.

Where the hell were Tinnie and Koenig yesterday? I was waiting for them to come on so they could go get you.

Anyway, we charged those guards anyway. :-P The guards didn't stop us either. It was the room full of mages after them that REALLY screwed us over.

Yeah, we knew they were in there. We wanted to go say hello. (RP terms, we wanted our audience with him. Non-RP we wanted to take some swings.) Unfortunatelly, Cyrus DIDN'T know where we were since he joined us late and was summoned at the fountain. He charged in before we were ready and Leeroy Jenkins-style chaos insued...

Its a Naaru.. and that actually is a good question. What will happen if those belfs casting the ward were killed?

I mean, in time all would return to normal. But if they were taken out, has Bliz programmed in a reaction by that Naaru? Or would it just float there and wait for its captors to respawn?

On a side note, Keraph and Lupa went down there to examine it a few days ago. We were accosted by some low level rp'ing belf priest who chastised us for entering their "inner sanctum..". We went with it and apologized respectully. He was mucho appreciative that we did that and didn't go tell him to "shove it."

Just a little thing, but it went a long way to encouraging RP. He /whispered me later and told me he was a role playing novice and didn't know how we would react. I think if we told him to piss off it would have hurt his confidence. Good call Ker...
