Hi everyone! Fairly new to the world of WoW. Finally decided to make Twisting Nether my home after trying many different characters on normal servers. (which by the way, after playing pvp.. playing on a normal server is the game on easy. Love it!)

I noticed on the official boards that anytime anyone asked about RP, they'd give a link here. So, here I be :). Im still a bit skeptical in-game, but I've seen enough RP to keep me hoping. Do most people stick to their guilds or channels? Am I just in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Sounds like a case of wrong bat channel, wrong bat time to me. ^_~ Stormwind and Goldshire are two of the key places for RP that I've found. Darnassus has a bit, but not nearly so much - and I don't frequent Ironforge enough to know. ^^() Anywho, welcome! :D

The general channels are, regrettably, often ooc.

/say and /y tends to be decent however, or at least not grossly ooc.

/p is frequently ooc, though I wish it was ic more (with exceptions made in the heat of combat)

I just today heard of an RP channel "/join RP" so I may try that out.

I am very close to typing "/leave 1" and leaving it off. The general channel is getting annoying.

I jumped on an alt last night in Goldshire, and the first thing I see is someone in General having an argument about the Bush administration and our troops in Iraq.

As someone who doesn't give a crap about politics, I hate seeing stuff like this anywhere, but especially in my game. So as always, with a new character, I left general.

Much better, until people decided that the Local Defense channel was to be used for the lame ass Chuck Norris jokes.

If you are on horde side join the "RP" channel. The sitting is a tavern located somewhere in Tirisfal glades called the Rest in Peace Inn. In the mornings it is dead alot of the time but after 12 noon or so eastern time it starts picking up and by prime log on hours it is a never ending stream of..... stuff.

I hung around Stormwind/Goldshire tonight and you were absolutely right. At one point I couldn't keep up with the window scrolling. I stayed a fly on the wall, but it was good to see after so much d00d speak. :) Thanks for all the welcomes and tips!

Welcome to the server! I came here from a regular PVP server but wanted to try out the roleplay thing. I haven't noticed much RP in Darnassus either. Anytime you see the Ironforge Regiment (all dwarven militia) moving in formation: FOLLOW THEM! Some awesome RP is sure to come. Take a look at the guild listing in the main TN forums and look for the heavy RP guilds. Teaming with them will usually get you a lot of RP. FlagRSP is a useful roleplaying addon (links and info also on the TN forums): not everyone uses it but I, personally, love it.

But just yesterday, I saw a she-elf-hunter wearing them, too..... dun dun DUN!

speaking of 'roleplaying' in goldshire.. the other night i was sitting outside stormwind castle.. minding my own business, and i see.. Goldhire is under attack!! Oh no, i thought to myself, not the best town in all of azeroth! anyway i get there and of course its just some troll rogue killing guards, and waxing all the helpless newbies who are flagged that run through. well... I really hate people who kill people.. 50 levels under them, thats just.. low. so I mind controlled him from stealth with my hat. sprinted to the lake next to goldshire. told him to stay at the bottom, and swam up to the top.. unfortunately the hat wore off and he started swimming back up!!
so i used my net projector.. which stuck both of us.. but -i- wasnt underwater.. needless to say, i laughed evilly when he drowned to death. too bad his vanish was down, from trying to run away from the guard train he just made.
so i roleplayed..an evil bitch! Oh what a life.

There was a low-level rogue in Goldshire a while back killing quest contacts repeatedly. All the poor lowbies were standing around asking where they were. I rode the griefer down and discovered it was someone I have been nice and /waved to the previous day. Needless to say, I killed her and camped her till she left. Normally I try to be a nice guy, but some people just have it coming.

Fixed.

Fhenrir and me were out and about in Duskwood last night. Took out the Flightmaster, an annoying never-ending stream of Night Watch guards, some patrollers... three 60s, a hunter, a warrior, and a warlock (who always seemed to kill me first. <,<)... and then ran when a Might-ed Warrior showed up with his Quel'Serrar.

I didn't think that particular match would've ended well.
