“Are you sure of its accuracy?”
“Have I ever been wrong before?”
Abric smirked, gauging the goblin’s body language. The creature was right, it had yet to give him useless information. It was a rare occurrence with the race, and so Abric ensured he kept this one well funded
“Then I want you to continue to watch the pier. Track what you have already tracked… though keep well for the symbol of the Blades. Our… probing has shown that they have some hand in this. Be it for price or policy, it merely an inconvenience."
The goblin nodded, turning towards the small fire in his camp, placing a few pieces of parchment in the flames.
“I also have another request… a ‘favor’ if you wish to call it. When I pass this information to my own, they will seek to carve some retribution from the Isle. While it will no doubt be ineffective, it will have use for morale and cause. Offer your aid in reconstruction, at minimum prices.”
The look of shock that crossed the goblin’s face was expected, but before it could protest, Abric continued.
“I will, of course… match the value of what you lose.”
The goblin’s words bubbled into a laughter, hands rubbing in delight at the prospect given to him.
“I will return here in two weeks time. Ensure y our… experiments, will not be the death of you, Zorbin. I would find it almost worth dwelling on having to replace you with something else.”
At that, the goblin and the rogue separated.
