I am posting this where ever I can.

Thought (horde) Onyxia chain was long and involved?
Caverns of Time:Mount Hyjal is much much worse.

Makes complete sense but wow.

One thing to note: from what I've read, the grinds to revered with the separate factions are FAR simpler than, say, CC or AD are currently. There are a LOT of quests in a couple of quest hubs and the rep gain from running the dungeons on normal seems to be on a higher return rate.

Not that it's not still super awesome to have to do epic stuff to fight epic fights.

Rep grinds aren't bad as long as you don't mind questing, I'm at 68 in the beta and revered with most of those just from questing, few instances, and mob kills from questing.

In Everquest, access to a dungeon was made complicated when the developers hadn't finished building it yet. There were many high level areas (Planes of Power) that were shipped and sold as a finished product, but the zones were all placeholder mobs with broken quests. So the developers put insane restrictions on access to keep people out until they could finish them. Remember trying to unlock "Jedi" on SWG? Same idea.

It's basic economics - sell the product (BC), then use the money from the sale of the product to actually build the product.

Makes me wonder how much of BC is actually done, and how much is smoke and mirrors.

Da Vuudu brings up a good point. I wouldn't be surprised. I'm not really for conspiracy theories, but that does sound like something blizz would do.

Yay i can already see the threads in the Raid forum with the likes of Death and Taxes threatening to quit becuase there's another Rag, Nef, Cthun unbeatable heroic stage.

Then that brings up the whole casual vs raider debate again for the millionth time weeee!

Just looks like they are trying to add everything into the lore feel... and just make it feel more epic.

For you to access what is, really, one of the very last things you will do... you must complete everything else beforehand. No cutting corners... no running about... no bringing in your friend to see the stuff you achieved in months that he only did for a day.

It'll separate the men from boys. It will give the hardcores something to make themselves feel all warm about... but give the casuals something to work on, without needing 39 other people. You'll still need 24... but hey, that's half. Not *that* hard.

*shrugs* If they keep people busy long enough for the next XPac to come out, they'll have to worry less about content patches and bitching.

They've already said there are a few instances that won't be in for release, but any of them that are in this chain are already in beta, as far as I understand.

Hyjal isn't going to be out for release, but it's already being tested and will be patched in not long after the expansion comes out, along with the Black Citadel.

That being said, it's against Archimonde! How the hell do you expect to fight him without some preparation?

i wonder if this is what has been described as ..the end of the game?

i mean, this wont come easy and their will be more added to WoW in the ocming years. But saving all known time and taking out the biggest threat EVER! fighting along side the heroes of azeroth....sounds like not just an epic quest chain for an epic battle...BUT LEGENDARY!!!

...i wanna see the quets rewards for this junk lol

I absolutely LOVE this quest chain.

know why?

1) It makes the most world-altering, life-changing battle in all of your character's world history accessable. How epic is that? there should DEFFINATELY be a stupidly long and hard chain of events in order to do this.. this is not an event that you just walk into with out any preperation.. i mean good god, look what you had to do the first time?

2) It gives the elitest, hardcore raiders something new and exciting to work on, to be the first and the best at.

3)it gives the casual gamers something to DO besides just sitting on their hands and going "k I've done all the 5 man instances and now I'm bored"

4) it gives us roleplayers a SHITTON of lore-based quests, storyline involvement, plot development, money making capabilities, and things to do!

There is absolutely nothing bad about a super long quest chain, with the exception that it takes a super long time.. and trust me, things that take time = gives you something to do = the point of the game.

unless said chain involves ridiculous amounts of gold like the .5 quests.
