Lovely

Lovely sat in her little room in the Guilded Rose Inn at the edge of Stormwind's Trade District. She flipped through her selection of books, trying to find one she hadn't already read. Nothing. She had finished every book she owned.
At the ripe old age of only 22, Lovely was a retired shut-in. She was a hermit in the middle of a large city, surrounded by people, but never able to mingle with them. Conidivh's curse had seen to that.
Lovely had led a tumultuous life. Her career as a paladin had been going quite well until the demon had settled inside her. It was a demon of lust, and had taken control of her emotions rather easily. Once a prudish warrior for justice, she had become a vile harbinger of lust and deceit, and had commited many evil and attrocious acts in the name of love. She had been involved sexually with Forsaken, and had willingly given herself over to be raped and tortured by Clys and Danlily, who still had samples of her bodily fluids that light only knew what they were doing with. She had stabbed her friends in the back, turned lovers into enemies, and caused chaos on a global scale with her desires.
Then came Conidivh, the man who had cursed her with her current position. An alchemical genius, he had poisoned her in such a way that whenever she felt arousal, she was wracked with horrible pain. This poison was not a true poison, and the only cure was something from Conidivh's blood...Blood which Lovely would never see. This curse had done her in. Defeated her. The demon in her wanted lust, but Lovely couldn't bear the pain it caused.
Finally, weeks ago, in desperation, Lovely found an excorsist and had the demon removed. Of course, the demon went into Teelia, and then caused even more chaos before being destroyed by the priest Nouri. But Lovely was free of the demonic influence of the lust creature.
The death of the demon still did not cure the curse left behind from Conidivh. Now free, and good again, Lovely still could not be aroused. To become that way would deliver wracking pain that she wasn't able to withstand. So she became a recluse, hiding in her little room and reading tomes and stories. Visitors to her little room were met with quick responses and then told to go away, lest she become friends with someone and then have to tell them later that she couldn't become more than that.
Even as one of the Scourge Slayers, a part of a family, Lovely had little to no interaction with her guild. Her title in the guild was obviously only honorary, and she wondered if perhaps Teelia had only given it to her because she felt sorry for her.
Teelia....That was someone else on Lovely's mind. One of the more beautiful women of Azeroth, Teelia had been of late quite permiscuous, if Lovely was to believe the rumors circulating in the streets below her window. The girl had finally gotten a taste of excitement and had become a bit addicted to it. Lovely prayed often that Teelia would not end up the way she had, and prayed that Teelia would not destroy anyone's life in her quest for pleasure.

Lovely began her new day like every other day. She poured herself a warm bath using water heated with small cores from the Moltan Span that had been collected for her before she became a shut-in. Once the water was steaming hot, she slipped out of her nightgown and layed in the tub. She washed herself slowly, careful not to touch herself in any way that might arouse her. Her thoughts were on the many disgusting creatures she had slain, and she was careful not to think of any of the men or women she had been with. Her thoughts were on blood and horrible dismemberment, and on her torture at the hands of Danlily, who had carved her body and scalped her a year ago.
Once her bath was over, Lovely slipped from the water, dried herself, and dressed in her black bodysuit that covered her well, and then slipped on her Argent Dawn Taberd. She brushed her silver hair and smiled slightly, and then stood in front of her full length mirror, inspecting herself to make sure she looked like a proper paladin of the light.
She then looked over at her combat armor and weapons, which sat in a corner of her room with a thick coat of dust covering them. Lovely walked past them to the door, grabbed the morning papers, and sat at her little table to catch up on the events of the day.
Something big had happened the night before. The Scourge Slayers had been invited to a wedding in Mulgore, and it had been an obvious setup. Although accounts from different papers said different things, to Lovely's trained eye it was simple....Someone had it in for both the Slayers, and for Sanctuary.
Lovely knew the Slayers were innocent. This wasn't their style, and The Horde weren't there enemies. Lovely also knew that Sanctuary wasn't to blame for anything. She didn't know Vilmah well at all, but knew Grisch very well, and knew that his guild could never be involved in something bad. Sanctuary were heroes.
Lovely sighed as she put the papers down and looked at her clock. She had been reading all day. It was already afternoon in Stormwind. She looked out of her tiny window at the people bustling about in the streets and was saddened by the fact that she couldn't join them.
A moment passed before Lovely realized she was standing at her door....her hand on the handle. What was she doing? Going outside? Bad idea, she thought to herself. The only time she ever left her little room was to gather supplies or make mooncloth at the well in the park. She couldn't go outside....
Lovely took a deep breath and opened her door. The smell from downstairs was intoxicating. It was the scent of life...Of many people living their lives. Lives that Lovely was not a part of.
Lovely slowly walked down the stairs, a little scared of what she was doing. She entered the downstairs room, and walked right through to the street. The innkeeper looked at her with amazement as she slowly stepped outside.
Once on the street, Lovely looked around at all the people....people she didn't know. Stormwind had changed so much...It was so full now. She stood and stared, not knowing if she should talk to anyone, or just slink back upstairs to the safety of her room.
As she was debating on returning upstairs, she saw a night elf wearing the Taberd of the Scourge Slayers. She shyly introduced herself to this man, who she found out was named Verloran. She had heard him on the guild channel of her stone, and knew that he was a doctor of the mind. She talked to him for a few minutes, expressing an interest in speaking in depth with him, before fear overtook her and she bolted back upstairs to her little room.
An hour later, Lovely finally got the courage to walk back outside. Verloran was no longer around, but there was a face she recognized. Barke, sitting on his steps across from the bank as he usually did. Given their past history, Lovely was reluctant to talk with him, but she took a deep breath and strode carefully over to the rogue.
Lovely greeted Barke, who nodded and said a word to her. As she was about to talk again, to try and drum up a conversation, Maegannon appeared and began talking to Barke frantically. Apparently she had thought him dead, and was very happy to see him alive. Lovely greeted Maegannon as well, but the two seemed to be conversing and Lovely felt a bit ignored, so she backed slowly away, giving them their space.
As she stood in the doorway of the inn watching the two speak, an orc rogue unstealthed and killed Maegannon in one shot. Barke immediately chased after the rogue, and Lovely could hear a moment later as he too was taken out. She was terrified....Lovely had on no weapons and little armor, and knew the rogue could kill her easily. But she approached Barke's body and did what had to be done.
Lovely called forth the light, and used it to bring Barke back from the brink. The elf stood, alive again, and then Lovely used her abilities to instantly bring him back to full health, just in case the rogue was still nearby. The rogue had moved on, however, and so Lovely moved to Maegannon and attempted to ressurect her as well.
That was when Lovely saw Barke move back to his steps. He said no words of thanks, and made no effort to even acknowledge Lovely's presence after she had brought him back.
This hurt Lovely, but as she back away she began to understand. Barke probably hated her. He probably still thought of her as being the demon possed chaos causing slut she had once been....He probably would never forgive her for the things she had done in the past.
Lovely walked away, feeling even more depressed than before.
((More to come after I smoke. Didn't expect this to be so long))
