When we last left Vexi in the Pilot Episode, she was standing on the shore with a fishing rod in her hand and tons of line tangled about her body.

With a quiet rushing hush, the gentle waters that lapped against the shores of the Redridge Mountains bored Vexi to tears.

'Dis is terribles. I gotta find somefin' else to do or sommat cause dis makes me wan kill mahself.'

With a frustrated growl, she cut herself free of the line and stomped furiously on the fishing rod and left the whole thing there at the shore. Without turning back, she hustled to the gryphon master and used her last bit of dosh to get her ass out of there.

Stormwind, capital of the humans and home to all kinds of hidden scum would be a good place to find something to do. Or so Vexi hoped as she loped around the streets and alleyways. Usually there were many people looking for someone to do some busy work for them, or to rustle up a few folk for a gold or two. But this early time in the morning, nobody was about and those that were looked to be drunk and asleep on the cobbled streets.

Bored bored bored. There had to be more to do than just ... nothing. The best place to find others who wanted work would be the Adventurer's Stone. You could find one in any city and for a price you could announce your desires and those who desired the same thing as you could respond. So Vexi paid her copper and announced, 'I be lookin' fer some folk who wants adventure an' gold.'

There were a few responses, one fellow who asked, 'What kind of adventure? The Deadmines is more to your level.'

It seemed like a good idea, for she hadn't been far in the deep of the mines and there were a bunch of folk who'd pay big for some of the things she could get down there no doubt. 'Okay den. I wants da go to da Deadmines. Anybuddy want come wit me?'

What startled her was a quick reply by her hearthstone. She thought she hadn't paid to keep it working, but clearly someone else had for it. It was a night elf and he asked to join her. She could tell by his soft, floating voice that tickled at her ears just like a naughty little elf would. He asked, 'May I join you?'

'Okay den. Come along and welcome. I be Vexi and who you be?'

'I am Daron,' he responded and then said, 'I'm on my way there. We might need more to go there though.'

Vexi tapped her hearthstone to check to see that it wouldn't break again and then responded, 'Ya. Well if ya knows anybuddy who wants ta come dat'd be good. Othawise I'll jus keep askin.'

So she paid another copper and talked into the Adventurer's Stone. 'Well I needs a few more for da Deadmines it seems eh. Anybuddy interested?'

Two responses this time. One said, 'Ah I'm too low level.' The other, a female said, 'I'd love to, but I'm too low level.'

'Well,' Vexi replied, 'I dun care how much ya likes water and how littles of it ya gots. Come along wit!'

So a sweet little female voice spoke through her hearthstone, 'I'll come along please.'

'Sure ting pretty!' Vexi piped back and then introduced herself. 'I be Vexi an' we're goin wit Daron who sounds like a pretty and you be?'

'I'm called Shell, Vexi. It's a pleasure to meet you.'

Daron introduced himself and said he was on his way while Shell mentioned that they would need a few more. 'Why?' Vexi asked. 'We gots a good group right 'ere.'

Daron, the voice of reason, cleared his throat and tried not to laugh. 'Vexi... It's a good idea to have about five for the Deadmines. Three is definitely too many.'

'How many more does we need den?' Vexi asked in confusion as she normally did when people mentioned numbers. Numbers were confusing.

'Two please.'

'Okay den.' She paid another copper and announced. 'I be needin' two such 'venturers ta go to da Deadmines an' make dere booty about it.'

When a snarling voice hissed back, 'You won't be able to finish the instance. The server's going down in thirty minutes.'

'Wut?' Vexi didn't understand a word that person was saying. The only thing that made a little sense was the mention of time, but everyone had all the time in the world. Didn't they?

A patient, posh-sounding voice replied, 'Yes m'lady... he is stating that the world will end, temporarily, in thirty minutes.'

'Oh!' Vexi shrieked, a little worried about the end of the world, but if it was going to end, then it would end with adventure! 'Den we better hurry!'

'Yes we better. Invite me along please.' That intelligent, expensive sounding voice was the one who wanted to be part of it so Vexi invited him along. There were introductions all around via the hearthstone and the newcomer introduced himself as 'Val.' He sounded rather gorgeous.

The other two were very excited that the new fellow wanted to join them and Vexi had no clue as to why they were so excited. She asked them, 'Do we needs anymore?'

Daron and Shell laughed in delight and Vexi got a little perturbed. 'I tinks I'se gonna invite a gnome cause dey tell good stories.'

'No Vexi...' Val started only Vexi paid the copper and announced, 'Looking fer a shortie to tell us stories while we'se in da mines.'

'Vexi. We're going to be fine without another in our group as we have Val.' Shell's sweet voice transmitted over the hearthstone.

'Wut? Why? He famous or sommat?'

'He's 60!' Shell responded.

Daron chuckled and then translated for Vexi before she could ask what that meant, 'It means he's rather experienced in comparison to us. We will not be needing another member to join us.'

'Fine den I'se headin' to da Mines. Meet you all there.'

Vexi was very excited. She hadn't been this excited in quite some time, maybe months. Running around alone and doing gathering quests for others in Azeroth can be quite dull. Every since the pretty Scyrah disappeared and there seemed to be few of TNG about, Vexi spent a great deal of her time alone. Plus there hadn't been many gnomes telling stories of late and she so loved storytelling.

The flight was quick and she didn't need to ask directions to get to the entrance of the mines. She was the first one there and sat on her heels, sharpening her blades with a stone while she waited on the others.

From outside the building she heard a cry of dismay and then fear. 'Wut?' Vexi stuck to the shadows as she paced out of doors to se what was the matter. Just then, Shell cried out, 'Vexi!' from down the way in Moonbrook. Vexi ran full on to the voice to protect her new adventuring pal only to arrive late and find Shell on the ground, unconscious and four cutpurses leaning over her body, ready to steal everything she owned.

Vexi cried out, 'Get off 'er ya morons!' and pounced upon the nearest one. Her quick blades and her speed dispatched him so quick he didn't have time to scream out. The others started pummeling her with fire and ice and it took her much longer to deal with them. Soon there were seven bodies lying around the unconscious one of Shell. Vexi, not knowing how to heal, kneeled defensively near Shell and waited until she awoke.

'We better hurry Daron. The ladies are falling.'

'Didja hear dat Shell, he called us ladies!' Vexi's voice quavered a little because of fear for her new friend who was clearly outmatched by the sheer number of foes.

'Ahh... yes he did.' Shell attempted to get up and Vexi grabbed her as gently as she could to lift her up. 'I'll be fine.' Brave and true, Shell pulled herself together and swallowed a potion. Shell smelled of flowers and the scent was lingering. She would have a hard time hiding in the shadows when they could just smell her coming. Vexi knew that well, but didn't think it important to mention at the time.

'Okay den. Ya gotta follow me an I'll watch yer back. I promises I won't stab it.' Vexi chuckled and slapped her knee, then added, 'Ya gotta keep to da shadows okay?'

Shell nodded, clearly a little shaken from her earlier encounter but putting on a brave face. Vexi's respect for the little woman lifted up tenfold and she carefully eyed the rest of Moonbrook. She turned to Shell and motioned for her to follow, skirting the nearest fellow standing by a cart.

Only the wind changed, it must have been because Vexi felt her hair move. He sniffed the air and then screamed, 'Encroachers! GUARDS!'

Vexi cursed as they dived upon the somewhat helpless form of Shell. 'Run Shell! Run!'

Shell ran, her blonde hair flying behind her. Vexi yelled after her, 'Keep runnin'! I'se gonna deal wit dese guys!'

Unfortunately, Shell tripped, flying straight into the fountain in the middle of the square. She cried out in fear as a large group of guards circled in. 'Vexi!' She screamed and Vexi attempted to run to her, but there were so many and they blocked her way.

'Dun you git in mah way!' Vexi yelled at them, pummeling them with her weapons as best she could, but not effective enough. 'I'll come back ta git ya Shell! I promise!' Then Vexi did something yellow and cowardly and ran away into the woods. 'Help!' Vexi screamed at the top of her lungs. 'Shell needs HELP!'

A man a horse whipped past and knocked Vexi back. He leaned down and picked her up by the waist. Too stunned to really understand what was going on, she clung on until he let her go near the entrance to the mines and he dismounted. With a flurry of blades, he dispatched the ENTIRE town. Without a moment's thought all the guards were dead and Vexi could run to Shell to ensure that she was still alive.

Shell was already up and leaning on a panting black cat. 'Come on den. Inside.' Vexi motioned towards the large building where the entrance to the mines was.

The trio entered and soon were passed on by the human fighter from the horse. Vexi blushed as he turned and smiled at her. 'Val at your service. M'lady.'

'Oh didja two hear dat? He called meh a lady.'

The cat melded into the form of a human and cast a spell while green strands lit up Shell's body. 'Thank you for coming Val. We appreciate your help. I'm Daron.'

'Ohh pretty.' Vexi spoke quietly, rather impressed with how dashing the young night elf and strong the human were and what a pretty sight they made when standing together.

'We do not have much time.' The strong, masculine voice of Val spoke from beneath his helm. 'The end of the world is at hand. We have less than twenty minutes.'

'Will we get it done?' Daron asked.

Shell pulled out her blades and looked about frantically. It seemed every miner in the place had his eye upon her.

'Let us hurry. We must be quick.' Val leaped forward, diving towards the leering miners and dispatching them before they got too close to the pretty lady Shell. Vexi rather enjoyed his full-on fighting method and raced up to be able to get a few stabs in herself.

'Tanks pretty. You shure is fast!' In fact so fast was he, that Shell could barely keep up and they left her in charge of collecting items off the corpses.

'Server shutdown in 10:00'

'WUT?' Vexi shrieked, looking above her in fear.

'The gods have spoken Vexi and the world shall end in ten minutes.'

'But I dun believe in any gods. Den I'se gonna prove 'em wrong!'

Deeper into the mine they went, leaving only corpses and pee stains from scared little goblins behind them. Further and further, deeper and deeper until Vexi's head swam with the stale air and smell of sulphur. She could have sworn that she heard the voice of the gods a few more times, but she tried hard to ignore it. There were no gods. There were no gods.

Daron cried, 'We're not going to be able to make it! Van Cleef won't die!'

'Hurry!' Val's strong, pretty voice yelled out above the clanking of machine wheels and screaming of goblins.

'Server shutdown in 30.'

'Noooo!' Vexi cried in agony, launching off a ramp and down onto two goblins below. 'I'se gonna live til da End of the World'

'Rest well...' Daron howled as the goblins knocked him down.

'No pretty!' Vexi turned trying to get to him, but a goblin blocked her path. Val was in the middle of a pile of them, all scurrying up to try to suffocate him. Shell was nowhere to be found.

'If dis is da end of the world...'

'Server shutdown in 15'

'Then I'se gonna....'
