History:

Khrox was born in a small farming village in Dun Morogh, in the hills that are now considered the southern gate, connecting Dun Morogh to the Loch. He was born to the Wildbeards, a rather small and insignificant clan of dwarves of the Wildhammers. In his childhood, Khrox was met many, many times with the bigotry between the three major dwarf clans. Thanks to this, he had a strong dislike for the dark irons and the bronzebeards. Rather than following in his father's footsteps of a hunter for the village, he traveled to meet Khardros Wildhammer, pledging himself to serve the Thane until his death. As a young warrior, he aspired to take over Ironforge along with Khardros. Unfortunately for Khrox, he wasn't born to be a warrior. He was clumsy and unskilled, but he worked very, very hard to be the very best he could, slowly becoming one of the better fighters around.

Khrox was in his 100's when the War of the Three Hammers began. As history tells it, the Wildhammers failed in their bid for taking over Ironforge, and moved north. Khrox was there for all of it. He helped build Grim Batol, spending many, many years to both carve his new kingdom out of the very living rock, and helping to train younger warriors. It was in this period of his life that Khrox continued his family lineage, wedding a fine female warrior who was only a few years older than him. He was father to 2 children not long later. Thanks to his efforts in building Grim Batol and his bravery in the War, his Thane gave him leave to raise his children. He happily took the offer, but still assisted in the training of others.

Khrox would be thrown into a brutal war before he could fully enjoy a more relaxed life. Grim Batol was finished, and it was glorious, but the bastardly Dark Irons still couldn't let things go. When Modgud attacked, it was easily the most frightening and vicious battle Khrox had ever been in. He was behind the lines of battle, fortunately to the citizens and older warriors. He personally battled back the shadows for many long hours, only able to barely keep his family safe. Khrox lost one of his children in this battle, the young guy attempting to fight valiantly alongside his father. Khrox, leaving his other child to the care of another family who couldn't fend for themselves, rallied the group of defenders in the rear (and his wife, being a warrior herself) pushing the shadows back deeper and deeper into Grim Batol. They stopped when the shadows vanished, when Modgud died. Khrox denied the offers to stay back and defend Grim Batol, vehemently chasing down the dark irons as they retreated. As they got to Redridge, cornering the Dark Irons between Wildhammers and Bronzebeards, Khrox's animosity towards the Bronzebeards vanished. Khrox fought with a berserker rage, ruthlessly cutting down any Dark Iron within his grasp. Even after they were utterly crushed between the two armies, Khrox was one of many to witness the summoning of Ragnaros, the spectacle forcing the armies to retreat, them assuming the Dark Irons got killed by their own arrogance.

Back at Grim Batol, Khrox spent almost all of his time with his family, along with many others who lost loved ones in the battle. Thanks to Modgud, however, they were forced to abandon their home, leaving to the Hinterlands. What isn't told commonly in history, however, many Wildhammers move eastward; into what is now known as Twilight Highlands. (Lol Cataclysm) Khrox was part of this group. He helped build, and then lived in Thundermar. Many, many years of peace passed. Khrox, like almost all other Wildhammers, took to the skies on a mighty Gryphon. He served as an envoy between the dwarf clans, flying between Ironforge, Thundermar, and the Aerie. It was around this time that both Khardros, and his wife passed of old age. His son traveled, accidentally running into the Earthen Ring and becoming one of the earliest Dwarf Shamans. As for Khrox, he trained and taught dwarves everywhere, being a kind of mentor to them.

Some time before the first war, around when King Terenas Menethil the Second was young, and Stormwind was still being built, Khrox acted as an ambassador for the dwarves to the humans, being there to teach the humans about dwarven ways, and generally keeping peace. He met many important figures in human history by doing this, namely the regional lords. In Lordaeron, he was replaced by another Dwarf, who served as ambassador and teacher to young Arthas, so Khrox could travel to both Dalaran and Stormwind, to both act as a teacher and hub of wisdom, and learn about the cities themselves. Again, he went out of his way to meet important figures, especially in Dalaran, to his own curiosity. Most importantly, he met Krasus, in whom Khrox met someone who he thought of as an ancient, an enigma on-par with the ghosts of his ancestors. When Khrox finally got to Stormwind, it was at the same time that the first war had began. He arrived just in time to witness the city getting ransacked by the Orcish Horde.

Khrox could do little to nothing to the war machine that destroyed the great capital below him. To simply swoop in and try to be a hero would be suicide, and serve little purpose. Instead, he made fast to Ironforge, intent on letting the dwarves know of what was happening. When he delivered his hasty report to Magni himself, being trusted enough to go to him immediately, the first reaction was suprise and disbelief, but the Bronzebeard Thane knew that Khrox wouldn't spew wild tales like this. However, to Khrox's disappointment, the leader made no action, as it would take far too long for them to be any help. Khrox delivered the same news to the Wildhammers, who took a similar stance on the matter. The best Khrox could do was to go back south, to observe things as they happened, and learn as much as he could about the likely adversary.

Khrox had followed the front lines of the Orc horde for some time, watching as they mercilessly tore through the areas leading up to his homeland. He grimaced as they pounded futily at the gates of Ironforge, hoping that the gates would stand fast. He had seen the kind of countless numbers, and vicious balls-to-the-wall combat these brutes had waged war with. He mused that a single kingdom could do little to stand against them on their own. As the Horde moved north, Khrox went to the Aerie, informing them of the coming threat, and demanding that he help lead the gryphons that would help combat the tide of green that killed all in their path.

As the Horde moved through the Hinterlands, luckily avoiding the Aerie, Khrox was leading a small group of fellow Wildhammers, raining down their own flavor of death in the form of the iconic lightning hammers. They had great success for a while, until the stupid savages below them finally caught wind of what was happening, and retaliated. Khrox lost most of his group, as well as his gryphon, as they were taken down by spear, axe, and rock. Out of 6 of them, only Khrox and one other lived, thanks to superior fighting tactics and smart maneuvers. Khrox, wounded and battle weary, borrowed a gryphon from the aviary and made his way to Lordaeron. They had to know what was going on.

Khrox had arrived in Lordaeron a short time after a band of survivors from Stormwind had, so his arrival didn't seem too sudden, nor was much explination required. He assisted Anduin Lothar in explinations, but from the view he had in the sky. Khrox had explained that they lacked a cohesive formation, nor much leadership. They fought as if possessed by demons, wild and reckless. He even watched some of the rear lines fight amongst each other more than once. This is when he learned that a regiment of humans were tailing the orcs, they they met them as they reached the shores on massive boats, and that the Aerie was assisting them directly. Khrox took a day to rest his wounds and gain his energy, before heading out once again.

When the Horde were attacking the elves a while north to Khrox's home, Khrox assisted the main force that was combating them in the best way he knew how; atop a gryphon with his trusty Stormhammer. He stayed with the main force all the way to Lordaeron, when they arrived to smash the army against the capital's gates. When the enemy started retreating, Khrox stayed right on their heels, picking off stragglers and hassling them into exhaustion. After the orcs were defeated, and the Dark Portal destroyed, Khrox decided to travel to Kalimdor, for good old adventure and journeying, as well as a much deserved vacation.

(This is both a summary and a WIP. I'm likely going to put important and interesting pieces in the form of a journal and short stories. I intend to make Khrox my main, important character)

Notes:
Khrox is still technically a character under construction. Some small details such as his rank may change as I see fit until he is finished.
