History: Born almost 100 years after the War of Three Hammers, Raegnar grew up while the Bronzebeard Clan's power & prosperity was at its greatest height. Raegnar was the eldest son & heir to his father, Ragnar, a holy priest of the Holy Light, and his mother, a strong and brave warrior, Brutella. He would eventually have a younger brother 26 years later, Boraldir.
Raegnar experienced a normal childhood, and when he was old enough, in order to please both his holy driven father, and his valorous mother, he pledged to train as a paladin at the Hall of Mystery in Ironforge. Though he trained in the art of war, he was originally much more adept in wielding the power of the Holy Light to mend the wounds of the injured, and cure those of disease and poisons, much to the satisfaction of his father, and dissatisfaction of his mother.
Raegnar would reach adulthood and become initiated as an Ironforge Paladin. Shortly afterwards, his mother died in combat against a trogg ambush in the mountains of Dun Morogh. Ragnar would die not long after of grief. Raegnar would care for his brother in the mountain-city of Ironforge peacefully for another 20 years or so.
Eventually, Khaz Modan would become assaulted by the vicious orcs, from another world. The dwarves fought bravely, but could not hold much of the territory from the ferocious battles. Much of the land was lost, and only the Great Anvil, Ironforge, was held from ever being captured. Raegnar saw much of the battle serving as a medic behind the battlefront, one of the best medics the dwarves had available during what became known as the Second War. Though he recognized his ability to heal wounds and bring the armored dwarves back into battle, he yearned to be apart of the defense line, like his mother was years back. The opportunity never arose.
Because of his deeds during the Second War, he was selected along with other dwarves to pledge to the Silver Hand, a paladin order formed not long before the Second War. He would work under the Silver Hand until it was disbanded by Arthas almost 15 years later. During this time, Raegnar would study the art of war, and war treatises, eager to fulfill his desire to take part in battle wielding his mighty warhammer.
The Third War would break out even more swiftly and unexpectedly as the Second War, as news from the North filtered down to Khaz Modan of a new evil presence spreading throughout Lordaeron. Raegnar would go to the Alterac Mountains to assist the Stormpike clan in their operations, his warrior brother, Boraldir, was stationed here a few years back.
This new war was different than many, as evil beings, devoid of light, would rise in numbers and assault mindlessly. Though the battles were grim and hard-fought, the stormpike clan managed to hold their claims in Alterac, despite a heavy loss of numbers. Boraldir, Raegnar's brother, would eventually succumb to this deadly plague, despite Raegnar's greatest efforts to cleanse the plague from Boraldir's brother. Boraldir would die, and eventaully raise into an undead, where Raegnar was forced to slay the abomination that was once his brother.
Raegnar would resign as a battle medic, and return to the Hall of Mystery in Ironforge, where he would focus on his studies, and assist with any temple duties that would be assigned to him, due to the grief exerted upon him during the two wars, and the loss of his only remaining family member. He would remain isolated as heroes gathered around Azeroth to slay the black dragons terrorizing and corrupting the infrastructure of Stormwind, and defend against the 1st assault of Kel'Thuzad and Naxxramas. He would even remain back in Ironforge as heroes traveled through the recently reopened, Dark Portal, and take the offensive against the Burning Legion, and Illidan.
However, not long after the success in Outlands against Illidan and the Burning Legion, Raegnar would again be renewed with vigor as a new assault opened up against the Scourge in Northrend. Remembering his loss in the 3rd war, Raegnar would pledge once again to the newly reformed Order of the Silver Hand and once again assist with his gift of healing. Finally, after much conflict, Arthas was slain, though a new Lich King would take its place, to keep the Scourge from invading & destroying the whole of Azeroth.
But there would only be peace for a few months, if that. Unexpectedly, the world of Azeroth changed its face suddenly, and quickly, as volcanoes erupted, the earth shattered, and waves decimated the beach front, and it's ports. The Evil Dragon Aspect, known as Dreadwing, would come front as the antagonist of the destroyed & altered world. Raegnar, aged at almost 166, with his hair & beard, once fiery-red, now whtie as snow, discontent with his previous experience, would finally pick up his dusty warhammer, and stride out of the Halls of Ironforge, eager to make a name for himself, as he would confront the vile creatures of this new world, elementals, the Twilight's Hammer, and even dragons, face to face, with a swinging hammer in hands.
