View Full Version : Cataclysm Raiding Coalition

Obviously, the changes to guilds coming in the expansion make it beneficial to raid with a leveled guild, but not all of us are going to have that option. The changes that occurred during the course of WotLK made it much easier to PUG raids, but in theory we'll be seeing a return to BC-style raiding in Cataclysm.

I've been holding on to the guild name "Hunters in Twilight" for the past several months, with the intention of using it for a raiding coalition. This coalition would have the easy RP element of several groups combining forces to combat the Twilight's Hammer and other groups intent on threatening Azeroth.

Before I start working on this however, I'd like to know that efforts won't be wasted. So, I'm trying to see what interest is out there.

I envision the Hunters in Twilight as being somewhat casual raiding. We'd go one or two nights a week, for a reasonable number of hours. Competency would be required of course, because we all hate wasting our time, but pushing every single point of possible DPS out wouldn't be. Also, no dickery allowed; it's a game, not a job.

Unless there's a massive response, I'd rather see one or two 10-man teams instead of a single 25-man.

If you'd be interested, please respond in this thread. Classes/specs of your intended raiders would be useful as well, but not required.

I'm interested, as I'm trying to make sure my inner raider has plenty of oppertunities in a non-raiding guild. Also, GOOD GOD I WANT TO SEE THIS CONTENT BLARGEKJFHGFJGS

Duroxas. Affliction Warlock (( This will be the character that hits 85 FIRST, but I also have a discipline priest and a Shaman that I will never ever ever heal on))

Also, I have an insane preference for 10mans as well, so if the words "we're doing 25" are ever uttered, I'll have all but vanished from the area.

Duro, you're like my sister from another mister.

I'm a raiding lover too.

Atlarian, Shadow Priest. [Will hit 85 first.]

I also will be gearing up my warlock, Dazrethi, Demonology or Destruction.

Cerryan is currently floating right now, I'm looking for a solid group to raid with, preferably 25s (though I could live with 10s). Being admittedly elitist and inarguably one of the best healers I know (/ego) I might be a bit too on the hardcore end for a casual group without putting other people off (I'm definitely not looking for another TS) but if I'm available and not spoken for I'd be happy to lend my healing hands from time to time.

Not to piss in your Wheaties, but Guild Progress will not be kind to raiding coalitions.

Best of luck regardless. TS was some of my favorite raiding time on WoW.

I'll be leveling Crushem from 1-85, so it won't be right away.
I would love to tank for this! (Prot Warrior)
I could also pull what numbers I can from Team Crankshaft once the ball gets rolling.

Of course, we all acknowledge the advantage of having a guild and being able to get guild achievements from guildie runs. But there are those of us who, say, have a guild that dosen't particularly care about the raiding achievements, and wants to focus mainly on Rated battlegrounds. Or those who's guild are small, and would be unable to get into a raid AT ALL if all the raids done on the server were done strictly with guildies only.

There will be those people. Hell, I'm one!

I understand and sympathize. Hell, like I said, TreasureSeekers was definitely one of my favorite raiding experiences. Just expect a lot of turnover as people cycle in and out of guilds.

I've got a dk tank, and shaman dps, and I'll have a feral druid relatively soon, but on that same page, I'm busy all the goddamn time and rarely have time to play.
