Goblin rp pirate guild? Yes or No?

Okay I am lvling a goblin Rogue, and I was thinking of starting a sort of goblin rp pirate/mercenary theme guild. Seeing as all goblin's seem to be gold crazed any class goblin could fit with the theme. But the guild is called

"Silent Knives Privateers"

Now I feel there's potential with this guild going far as an rp guild, I intend to originally start it out as a Goblin lvling guild, then once we get to the main land start letting other rpers into the fold. I can see the theme very fitting, and since pvp is a big thing on this server and it will be most likely geared more towards pvp once we get to higher lvls. I was thinking it could possibly be like a Horde equivelant to HRA once the toons get max lvl and start gearing out. Big hopes I know, but all and all I think this could turn out to be a pretty succesful rp/lvling guild. What's your guys/girls take on it? Any pointers? Any advice would be much appreciated.

There's already a number of goblin themed guilds in the works, why not just join one of those instead of spreading the community even thinner? I'm not saying your idea doesn't hold merit it just seems like it would serve you and the rest of the community better to join a pre-existing goblin guild... like KORE (http://wow-tng.org/showthread.php?t=20385)! And then just move towards starting a regular PvP environment within the guild if what you're looking for is PvP.

Certainly not to put your idea down since its a very good idea but along the lines of what Jikara said there are a few Gob guilds in the works, Kore sounds great and there is also Team Crankshaft which is an Rp-PvP focused guild as well. Of course if none of the Goblin guild already in the works suit your tatse, your guild sounds like a great idea. I fully endorse Goblins all the way!

I'd have to agree here, there is at least three goblin themed guilds in the works and your character concept/idea would actually fit well with KORE Enterprises.

Myself I'm a heavy PvPer on my main and plan to do a lot of it on my new Gob. You should really check us out and maybe even try to promote a division idea like you have within KORE.

Not that your idea is bad, its actually pretty good do please don't think I'm trying to knock your idea down.

Well, Team Crankshaft is goblin themed, we are not goblin exclusive. I decided that for the very same reason people are speaking out against this idea. I don't wan't to spread the goblin RPers too thin. I'm also targeting pvp'ers for rated BG's to help narrow my search even more.

Also, you said three goblin guilds. There's KORE and Team Crankshaft. Which ones the third?

Bottom line; I think its a good idea, but it might be better off without it being goblin exclusive.

thanks for the feed back, I thought about that too. But it isn't Goblin exclusive, only goblin exclusive untill we leave kezan assuming you can even form a guild before you leave kezan. I like the Idea, and personally my goblin's a bit too moralistic to fit in well with the other Goblin guilds, excluding Team Crankshaft which I intend to join up with if this scheme doesn't work out.

As I also stated earlier I have yet to flesh out the Idea fully, it's still in the thinking process but I do beleive it could possibly work well. The basis though is my character is somewhat like a goblin version of Robin hood, and so yes he'd be a privateer, but his personal shares would mostly be going to help the poor in the Goblin slums and such. Big anti-slaver, which also is why I think they would make an interesting rival with HRA once they got maxxed and geared out. I have yet to think up much more then a titel at this point but hopefully I can get the whole story done and posted up on here.

I do appreciate the feed back, I may not start it off from the get go, but if not I intend to touch back on the idea in later on.

While KORE would love to have you on-board (especially as one of our major RP storylines is the idea of building a new Kezan in the form of a huge floating island and could definitely use some business-minded freebooters looking to cut some throats at sea - we do need a captain that can steer a boat) we'll definitely back you up either way. We're all For Kezan, and Gobs as a people.

Y'see, KORE's main design is all about helping the refugees find business among many different places - making profit and having fun along the way. With some of the deals we've been making with other Guilds and organizations out there in Azeroth, we can sometimes act as a kind of Talent service - they've got slots they need to fill, and don't want to PUG? KORE's likely got some Gobs on hand looking to make a deal. Need some extra oomph in a BG, and need some backup? Put in a request to KORE, and there's likely some Agents there looking to enterprise.

We also plan to back any other Goblin-based groups out there, such as Team Crankshaft. (Looking forward to PvPing beside yah, Crushem!) So if you get things going, and need some backup, we'll be here.

Way I see it, while KORE's got a lot to offer most Gobs - in general - it's not just all about who's in what Guild. It's about our people surviving, and networking people together to get things done. We just lost our homeland. Our culture's changin' to adapt, 'n we gottah stick together. We're Goblins, all, and the lot of us all want the same thing. (Taps cigar ashes, with a grin)

We're actually forming a pirate guild Alliance-side called "Redblade Corsairs". The guild is already created, just waiting for Cataclysm to go active. Perhaps we could organize a cross-faction deal between the pirate guilds.. a rivalry or alliance perhaps? I can imagine the RP goodness!

Smiles is probably the most famous Goblin rper on this server for his epic writings and all around viciousness. Plus he looks like the joker when he isn't wearing his gas mask. What's not to love?

As for the cross faction rivalry Idea When I establish the guild more firmly I'll send you a message and perhaps we can work something out. I'll keep in touch XD
