View Full Version : Draenei Guild

I mentioned it once before that I was planning on starting a heavy RP draenei guild when the expansion comes out, but it was kinda in the middle of someone else's thread, and I never really fan-fared the information.
So if this is the first you've heard of it, I apologise if this all seems new.
Originally I planned for the guild to be the nemesis of the pvprp.com's planned blood elf only guild on whichever server they chose to play on (they were leaning heavily towards a new RP-PVP server).
With the demise of pvprp.com and subsequent talks with my contact there, it doesn't sound like their blood elf thing will be getting off the ground...at least not at the same commitment and excitement that I was seeing before.
So now I am left with this idea that I still want to pursue, but I now have to choose a server for this guild. Before I was just gonna let the pvprp.com guys pick and we'd follow.
And, well, the more I think about it, the more I want to have the guild here, on Twisting Nether.
Positives to having it on TN:
* Not being poor-ass broke on a brand new server! Not trying to make ends meet with 500000000 other level 20 crafters. I'm sorry, but having to go back and forth to town every 15 minutes because you have 1 6-slot bag and 15 quest items, and you can't afford to not pick up loot because all you have is 10s to your name sucks.
* I plan on semi-advertising for this guild to try to pull in some good RPers, so having them come to the guild would have the added benefit of increasing the RP community here on TN.
* Most of the frightfully anti-RPers have left the server or are at least less vocal about it.
* Don't have to worry about splintering the TN community like what "kinda" happened when we had the VeCo alts running around.
* We already know the RP community here rocks!
Negatives to having it on TN:
* Existing Horde characters (who don't have access to a 2nd account) wouldn't get to participate.
* There is a certain excitement and commraderie that comes with leveling up on a new server. Getting to meet new people and watch how alliances form and shift and the whole "remember when 10s was a ton of money??"
I know Vilmah and a couple other Horde folks indicated that they'd like to participate, so how heart broken would you all be?
Plus I'm curious to see if anyone had any plans to form a BE guild that we could plan to rival? I know Danlily and Clys are planning to come back in force, so maybe we can work something out there (I really do miss y'all's stories!).
Anyway, just wanted to get some feedback on what y'all thought as far as having the guild here or on a new RP-PVP server.

Might be a little more insightful if you would (or have one of them) post the information behind said blood elf guild publicly so we wouldn't have to track down people in the game or forums.
And Mort, another negative to this server would be that I'm sure some level 60's out there are gonna spend their first few weeks in the expansion ganking and camping as many blood elves/draenei as possible.
I'd be sad that I couldn't be in said guild myself, but I don't much wanna play a draenei anyway.

Draeni are hot.

And If I am back by then, count me in.

I wouldn't mind joining a guild like this myself. I've already got plans for rolling a Draenei, and it'd be nice to start off with people I know. However, I do not have a second account, and there's no way I'm rerolling, so I'd be more comfortable if you did this on a separate server. If not, that's fine! Chances are I'll be rolling on vCo, unless we all decide on a new server. Even so, I've got crafters on vCo, so it might work best for me.

Veco was another option I considered, but I've been hearing that the non-RPers took over the server and it isn't very friendly anymore.
Have you been playing your alt there much?

Well, obviously The Immortails is going to be led by bloodelves. I'm rolling two and Clys is rolling at least one and we will be back in force, and would LOVE to play against a drainei guild. You know how much we love cross-faction RP to the point of having rolled Kittsu so she could interpret our RPed meetings with the Alliance. There are very good pros to rolling fresh on another server, but man, to have a strong Draenei guild to rp against would just be wild!
Also, those who want to play a bloodelf but don't want to put them in your regular guild, like say your guild only allows forsaken or say they have members that hate bloodelves...we are completely fine with alts in Immortalis because our focus isn't end-game, it's RPing stories. And alliance people, say you want to RP a draenei fresh off the crashed spaceship, wanting the safety of being with your fellow shipmates that are new on the planet and not going forth to mingle with humans and such just yet...I can see so many possibilities with Mortica's guild.
Ultimately you have to do what works best for you, Mortica, but it would just be, well for lack of a better phrase, "totally bitchin'" if you created that heavy RP Draenei guild on Twisting Nether.

Not going back to alliance, no way no how. BE priest is my next project. And i really hope you guys create the Draenei guild here on TN.

Oh and, the cons you listed...yea, I rolled on Venture company with this account and it just got boring because none of you people where there, and all my cash is here on Twisting Nether. There's lot's of RP over there, actually, but my cash and all of the TNG population is here so that's why I rolled Eisabeau and Danlyra here to play until Burning Crusade comes out. The pros of staying here were greater for me, personally, than the pros of rolling on Venture Company.

I really hope it all stays here on TN, i'd like to still be able to involve Rajjah in day to day stuff without having to switch servers all the time. Tough call though.

Belf 'lock was always what I was going to play...
The story is slooowly coming about in my head.

I'm too set on Tirdisar right now, so I'll have my hands full with him, and levelling two 60's.

I had interest in a Draenei Guild myself, but I can't participate if it is going to be on TN. There is no way I can afford a second account, and no way Nadea would ever get deleted. I too will prolly be rolling my Draenei on VC.

I have an alliance account here as well, so I suppose I could, but I'm -really- interested in a Blood Elf. I love the Elven lore, the Draenai's is... meh.

Don't have 2 accounts and can't justify starting. Besides, VCo is probably salvageable.
But if Vilmah's doing it...
Vilmah

I might have to buy a 2nd account... *sigh* Only if Chingaso does!!
I along with quite a few others will be starting a relatively blood elf only guild, I will release more info on the guild when it gets closer to Burning Crusade, but for now it is mostly centralized around the premise of destroying the Scourge, though not so linear, you will see in a month or so.

But then again, I'm a bad person.

I'd love to try out an all Draenei guild, but I would not be willing to reroll for it, so TN is out unless I get a second account. VCo would be an option, but the server has lost it's appeal, and just isn't as interesting as it was in that first couple of weeks.
If possible, if a new RP-PvP server opens up on release, that we could try it out there.

That means I'd have to get rid of ol' Nazshakul... :/ I really want to play a Draenei though.

I've been wanting a Belf warlock for AGES.. and I can't really think of leaving TN.. so I -might- flip sides.... I dunno.. I'm still debating hard. But since everyone seems to want to go Draenei.. I might be alone on this.. x.x

Sounds like a good idea.
But, not to throw a monkey wrench in the gears or anything... Outland makes sex with a group of college cheerleaders look boring.
That's just speaking from the RP perspective.
Ooooooh, the actual *gameplay.* Bwhahahaha!

Eh, I'm alliance, so it doesn't really matter to me where we roll. On a side note, I have a few 60's on a lot of other servers, so depending on where we transfer, I can pretty much say that I can help out with bags and gold if people are worried about "starting fresh" no worries there.
Ven Co is also a great option.

Well, ya'll know I'm only gonna do Draenai if it's on another sever. Ain't no way in hells I can commit to playing an Ally character, but she'd be a fun change of pace every once in a while.

And hence the problem. When VenCo came out, people rolled alts over there to have a fun change of pace every once in a while. People were there for a few weeks, and then they all gravitated back here. Once and a while is not enough regularity, when wanting to get everyone to hang out at the same time instead of one person's once and a while being sporatic and at different times as the next person's once and a while. I expect the same will likely happen again, splitting up the community with the few stragglers staying where ever everyone decides to roll up, and those that come back here because the majority of friends and cash they have is already here.

yep..that is the main reason I'm leaning towards having it on TN.
If the guild is on TN, then there are soooo many guilds Alliance and Horde side to interact with, whereas on VeCo or a new server the options are limited. I know there is still good RP on VeCo, but seems like it'd be more of an uphill battle.
Another option I'm considering....Considering the "sc-fi-ish quality of the draenei "space-ship"... and yes, I know its a bit hokey..
Having the "guild" be on both TN and VeCo. But a dimensional rift happened when the ship crashed and part of the guild ended up in a parallel universe. My "brother" is alive and well, and perhaps through some sort of interdimensional communication device (the forums here :P) we can talk, but we will never be able to physically interact EVER again.
Anyway, I haven't made a decision yet, but that's my thoughts on it right now.
