History: Born as a Highborne Nightelf in the city of Zin-Azshari over 10,000 years ago, Skyze personally witnessed many of the events of Azeroth's past. Having managed to escape the destruction of the city, he was present at Mount Hyjal with the remainder of his kin in an attempt to re-build the Night Elven society. Like the other Highborne however, the pangs of magical addiction became too great to bear. With the exiling of the Highborne, he traveled to the Eastern Kingdoms, landing in Lordaeron. He was one of the original Quel'Dorei, present at the founding of Quel'Thalas and a loyal subject of Dath'Remar Sunstrider.
Over time, Skyze grew in power. Both politcally and in terms of magical aptitude. His combat expertise and leadership in the wars with the Amani Trolls was not taken lightly, and Skyze quickly rose in rank among the Magisterial Council of Silvermoon.
Around the time of the third war, as the Scourge began to invade Quel'Thalas, Skyze remained vigilant in it's defense. The sheer numbers were too much to deal with, however, and he was slain by a Dreadlord. In his final stand, he managed to take out many scourge with his own life, but this did little, as twice as many swarmed to replace the lost numbers. His body was taken, along with other powerful entities, and ressurected as a slave using the powers of the now defiled Sunwell.
From this point forth, Skyze was a lich to the scourge. His own mind remained intact, but he was still given no choice but to serve. Hatred built up inside him overtime, and he was quick to break his bonds in the rebellion lead by the former Ranger-General, Sylvanas Windrunner. Since then, he has maintained an almost fanatical devotion to her and the renegade undead, known as the Forsaken. He remains a powerful mage, competent in both the fire magics he used in life, the arcane magics he studied for thousands of years, and the frost magics he used in his bondage. His lust for the power to overcome his enemies comes at all costs necessary. The abandonment of his post as a Life Bane of Infection was one of his most trying decisions, but his devotion to the cause does not waver at all. He works fervently towards conquering the strongest enemies known in all of Azeroth and Outlands, in the name of his Banshee Queen and the Forsaken.

*From the private writings of Warlord Keraph Xalascent*

"...which brings us to the newest of the Lifebanes, the elven archmage, Skyze Val'Thoxis. Skyze has proven to be an invaluable asset to Infection since long before his formal promotion. Perhaps it is his longer previous lifespan, prior to his undeath and subsequent raising, but he seems to control a fair amount of wisdom and experience that has proven invaluable on the battlefield. His mastery over the power of frost arcana is comparable to the Liches of the damnable Scourge, and his knowledge of such magics is an effective tool to use against them. He holds the same burning hatred for the Lich King as the Human Forsaken, which has increased his usefulness to the Dark Lady, and has as well reflected our....disdain...of the lesser races. Perhaps he too realizes the power and superiority our blessing givs us over them; perhaps it's just an elf thing. I'm not sure, but regardless, it meshes well with the certain...exclusivity of Infection. I do however wonder how he will react to his former bretheren, when the treaties are completed between the Dark Lady and the Blood Elves...

Another note: While Skyze is both loyal and true to Infection, his patience tends to waver, and he seems easily amused with more visceral distractions. Perhaps I should speak to him about his spontaneous and erratic behaviour..."

"I think he thinks he's better than me. I think he thinks wrong. The fact that he has shown disloyalty to Infection in the past proves that."

I think I ran into him in Alterac Valley once or twice... A competent foe, to be sure. The fact that he still stands is a testament to his skill.

...or my ineptitude *frowns*

But I prefer to think of it as the former. *smiles again*

*Snorts* He don' be too bright. Him an' his Infection. Choo know wha' happens if de Horde an' de Alliance go? Choo gonna be left wit de Scourge an' de Forsaken. De Forsaken be havin some pretty bright minds amongst dem an' some strong warrias. But de Scourge be havin de numbas.

De Silvannas elf woman served de Scourge once. If de Horde an' Alliance weren' distractin de Scourge dese days she'd be right back unda dere banner. An everymon dat serves her. Like us o' not. De Forsaken need all de allies dey can get. Alive o' dead.

I -knew- he didn't die to a freaking Nightelf. But nobody would believe me.

A disgusting creature loyal only to himself and his own whims. Best to dismiss him with quiet disdain.

The GREAT Archmage. It is an honour to be esteemed by his illustrious presence. I bow to his glory and his brilliance. For he is going to save my notebook and so shall save all of Azeroth. I admire and worship him. Oh yes. He is so brilliant but clearly a different brilliance than myself. But still.

"Hrm.. Skyze? He still abouts?" the former captain ran his fingers through his beard, as he's wont to do when lost in thought. "Ah remember hearin' o' th'archmage once durin' me trips past Dalaran. .. When it still stood, o' course. Ah b'lieve some o' th'apprentices outside were talkin' o' him.. but ah've nae met th'lad. Apparently, if he's still about.. an' ah've nae met him. He mes be undead.. hmph, pity, if'n yeh ask me."

[ His player though.. Mrawr.. sexah. >.>;; ]

I suppose I owe a lot to this character...

*Sanrin smiles softly, fingering the pages of what appears to be a very short file*

Skyze. I've only ever seen him once or twice, but I doubt he'll let me off considering the nature of our encounter...It'd be nice to speak to him though. See what exactly he was ever really after...
