Forsaken faces

I can't for the life of me figure out a couple of things...

1)What is that stuff coming out of the mouth of Male Forsaken when the lower half of their jaw is missing? Is that just gore and blood or something else?

2)What is the gray looking lower jaw piece of some Forsaken? Or even the square ones covering the whole mouth?

3)On some there looks like there are bolts or really big warts on the faces of male and female Forsaken...which is it or is it something else?

4)Alot of Forsaken are missing their eyes...are they blind? If not how do they see?

5)What's with the leather straps? Is that just a S&M thing or is it something else like holding the head together so it doesn't fall apart?

1) I believe that's a tongue.

2) Gray is bone. Square is metal, if I recall.

3) Not sure what you mean by bolts, but the "warts" are patches of flesh that have rotted off, exposing bone.

4) You're bothered by the realistic implications of sight without eyes but not of corpses walking around? I don't mean that to sound sarcastic, but we're dealing with folks that are supernatural to begin with.

5) There's nothing in the game to suggest that it's sexual. Probably the opposite; the only remotely sexual Forsaken is Lilith the Lithe in Winterspring. I'd guess random decoration, like any piercing, but that's just me.

On the answer to 5, I'd guess it's probobly actually there to hold their face together or something like that.

No idea? To me, that question's like asking how fingernails grow. Forsaken can see, they are not blind, that is true. So, they have to see with supernatural means, just as they move around with supernatural means. The point of supernatural is that natural laws do not apply. The only answer to a question of truly supernatural mechanics in truly natural contexts is "it just works."
