An ancient creature of awesome beauty scooped up its unsuspecting prey. It was an ancient proto drake, it's size unrivaled in the skies of Northrend. Its wingspan was even greater than that of Thorim's great steed. The immense protodrake opened its great maw and devoured the creature whole. The creature lifted off once more, leaving behind nothing more but large footprints and blood stained snow. But it was not alone...
Brokkir Thunderbeard and his ragtag band of dragon hunters took the the skies the moment they spotted their quarry. The great beast had been sighted many times over the past months, but it had constantly eluded their traps, now it was flying directly into one.
The wildhammer dwarf grasped the bare back of his great gryphon, Razortalon, and steered it directly towards the prey. His stormhammer and battleaxe were both strapped to his sides and ready to be unleashed upon his foe.
"Logan, capture the beasts attention and draw it towards the harpoons!" Brokkir yelled to his nearest comrade. The Ironforge Dwarf nodded before hitting the turbo on his gyrocopter.
The flying machine launched past the great beast, firing a volley of shots as it passed by. The ancient dragon roared before turning to take chase. It roared, fire building up in its maw before launching it at the flying machine. Logan expertly dodged the first shot, just barely.
Brokkir raised his stormhammer and launched a bolt of lightning into the air. The signal was given, and the harpoons launched. Four harpoons flew through the air directly at the ancient dragon.
The dragon twisted through the air, dodging around two of the spears, but two hit him directly. One tore through a wing, the other directly through his neck. The dragon roared in pain and twisted some more, struggling to stay in the air.
The cannons that had landed their shots were already attempting to draw their prey in, but the colossal beast would not surrender. It twisted violently once more, wrenching one of the cannons free from the earth it had been rooted in. The gunner was sent plummeting down the mountain slopes.
The dragon twisted its head and broke the harpoon from its wing like a twig before turning to the other cannon that had landed a blow. It charged fire within its maw before launching it directly at the cannon. The gunner moved to distance himself from the cannon, but was too slow. The dragon bit down on the chain and broke it as well. Now free the dragon moved to flee from the trap, just as Logan moved to make a second run at the beast.
Logan's turbo charged flying machine flew directly at the dragon as it began to elevate, he pressed down on the triggers of his cannons. A volley of bullets pelted the dragon, doing little other than irritating the beast. The dragon turned at Logan once more before launching another blast. This time Logan wasn't so lucky, his flying machine fell from the air a charred and twisted mess.
