BC Date

So I went to GameSpot today. Paid for my premium pre-order. I never believe what they say about release dates, but here's what was said:

Me: (takes credit card receipt) Thank you. I'll be back when it hits the store.

GS employee: November 28th

Me: Yea, well that's an arbitrary date. I figure anywhere from a few days before to 6 weeks after *chuckles*

GS employee: No, it's set in stone now. We got confirmation and it's the official date now.

Now me, I'll believe it when I see it posted on the Blizzard site, but still, thought I'd pass on what was said today to me.

well once the Stores has notice from thw warehouse....which has info from the manufactorers and packaging companies......then its offical.((which seems to be teh case with gamestop....or either they were flattering you and trying to show some charm to your sexiness when they saw you were a WoW player....i bet u had the "i <3 nerds" shirt that got their blood boiling which lead them to give out TOP SECRET infomation :twisted: ))

Bliz can release the date themselves when they feel like it. Until nov. 28th (or when ever) their still gunna be tweaking and testing.

The Gamestop list has had it on its sheet for 11/28 for a few weeks now.. I think that's the final date.

I've got a friend who works an EBgames, he couldn't remember the date off the top of his head, all he told me is that he'll call me when it comes in. He did say he was sure it was november though.

Bah! I can't find the thread now and just read it today but someone was saying they had a release date for March '07 and a bunch of people were saying that it was November from a couple other places and one of the blues in it posted there is no official release date yet and it won't be official until they announce it themselves.

I would be very very surprised if it doesnt make it to shelves by the last week of november. The week of thanksgiving is the biggest shopping week of the year, and they will want the most successful mmo's expansion on the shelves and getting hyped for that period. It is just common sense business, I wouldnt be surprised if the game was delayed to the 28th for no other reason.

Releasing a game early and cutting stuff out to market it better always lowers the quality of a game in the long run. It's not as big of an issue with MMOs (because they can patch), but it would cause much suckage regardless.

Not really. So long as its say an extra level 70 instance or something; I honestly couldn't give a shit if they patched it in a week or two after release, I mena who is going to be level 70 two weeks after release? And doing those big instances? Who? No one. I'd rather them do that than fuckin delay it for another year. Half the WoW populos would bloody quit. I would. If they outright siad they'd delay it another year to add more stuff, I'd flat out post on TNG, "Later guys and gals, Blizzard can suck my--"

From what I've seen, the sheer amount of new content is worth it. They could perfectly release the game now, after they've tested for bugs and made some of the issues balanced.
