I don't normally like South Park. I watched it last night and I laughed through the whole thing. Thanks for the link to the replay vid. Sending it to my kids who are over playing EQ2.

Kenny and Stan's dad were human hunters. And he was somehow a 60 Mage in a Plate helm.

Also, Stan had a Frostwolf Tabard. Jeez, Matt and Trey. L2Warcraft.

Seriously though. Brilliant.

it was restrained because if they went too far they'd piss off their player base...

No company in their right mind hypes something that would piss everyone off...

That's like telling everyone to go to a site that trashes your product >_>

Which feels odd, considering that Matt and Trey would NEVER do anything unless they were granted complete freedom. For example, when they wouldn't allow the Blame Canada song to be played cencored. But hey, maybe they both just didn't want to bash WoW and it's players. I dunno, it was still funny, just not as bad as I thought it would be.

I think the inaccurate things in the game were on purpose... because it's going to make the eyeballs of the l33t kiddies twitch.

And I recorded it... and at the end, when Stan's dad tells Stan that he loves him... the recording stopped.

Why did you betray me, DVR? Why?

everyone on vetn last night was watcning it while "trying" to do UBRS.

we all laughed at how when cartman wanted to train killing boars (lvl 2 too) to hit 60 and it would take liek 68milion kills and 7weeks to do.

then there was that cool sword and the dad calling himself a noob (and he couldnt even open a trade window  )

everything in that episode captured all the dumb stuff we see regurally in WoW and it was fun to see. It wasnt so "LMFAO" as it was a laugh of excitment for me.

-they got the terms right, they even had rock music to go with their training like all the damn pvp videos we see.
-they made it more important than real life ((OMG, i love the part when they talke dabout that uber nerd..."how do we kill that which has no life?...." XD ))
-they made fun of people who get naked and dance all over u
-they did good with having that one kid AFK in arathi highlands when the scorpions came haha....that so happens alot now doesnt it, people going afk randomly that is
-there was one part where one said "wow look at all these people" and cartman goes-"yeah, half of them are korean anyways"...haha making fun of gold farmers :P

all in all, it wasnt a gut buster episode as it was a giggle of excitment cause it was so damn true and so cool to see so that you can go "omg!, thats me!!!" cause i know i did

PS- what is an Ardtard? 8O

Two missed opportunities:

Stan's dad should have accidently equipped the Sword of 1000 truths while trying to trade it, making it soulbound.

At the end, when the bad guy was down to 10 hps, he should have bubble hearthed. :)

his dad was holding the sward so it should have been soulbound, but it was a dev thing so it probably didn't soulbind...

it was alright... it could have been funnier. they totally should have been horde, but i guess it's accurate in the way that most alliance a little jackass kids anyway.

honestly i wanted them to totally trash the shit out of wow and the players.

I thought they took the piss out of the WoW base pretty hard. From mocking RPers to depicting the boys as obese, acne-ridden fiends. I know Matt & Trey must play because they got the ventrillo chat down perfectly. Plus the whole crap in the bedpan was a slam against the hardcore "poopsock" raid guilds.

I thought it was well done and didn't feel restrained at all. I mean Cartman even cracked a Korean joke.

10-05-2006, 10:20 PM
I think that in the midst of all the WoW for newbies stuff (IE simplifying terms, like boars always giving 2EXP) the sword graphic was a little treat for the players. DEFINATELY Frostmourne, of course, but I wouldn't be suprised if they did add a "Sword of 1000 Truths" at some point. And come on, 100DPS and +80 STA on a one hander? My.....god......

Homeslice513
10-05-2006, 11:55 PM
Just because I saw someone mention the sword being soulbound. They pretty much took it out through the whole episode.

I can't remember exactly what they said but Cartman said that Stan should give Kenny his cape because it had a stamina bonus he could use and another time they traded something they were wearing, or at least I thought they did. I just kind of went with it and thought it was funny but sad I could pick out so many wrong things too and I know so very little :D

Fhenrir
10-06-2006, 12:21 AM
I found myself picking apart everything they didn't get spot on too.

"Why is Cartman tellings Stan to get the fury talents that boost his shouts? The only worthwhile one is Imp Battle Shout..."

I'm with Yli...I picked out all the mistakes but still didn't care, it was just too fun seeing the game animated, and our soundtrack running in the background, and mostly seeing a bunch of friends getting together in teamwork to accomplish a goal...

...that's the important thing for non-gamers to see in seeing that episode...and something I explain to the parents of all my teenage patients coming to us to get their wisdom teeth out.

Those teens aren't mindlessly staring at the TV after homework like our generation did. They are interacting, socializing, and working together with other people. Most of my patients do the same physically as well with team sports or band activities, etc, and I explain to their parents that online gaming is still a sport, but an intellectual one, where they are using their computer skills to work together. It's a good balance to have the physical social activity and the mental social activity...It beats watching Happy Days and Welcome Back Kotter like my peers (and my patient's parents) did back when we were teens, and it certainly is a plus that those parents know where their kids are at night and they aren't out in gang activities or doing drugs.

And Cartman's Mom is a freak.

The Hungering Cold to be exact... one of the best tanking weapons in the game.

Karkarov
10-06-2006, 02:09 PM
The hungering cold IS the best tanking weapon in the game. Gressil Dawn of Ruin argueably the best fury warrior/sword rogue main hand sword also drops off Kel thuzad and uses the same model.

All that said it was funny. I like how kyle's character had a frostwolf tabard. I am sure Enheilras was highly offended.

PS: 100 dps on a 1 hander is not that far off. Both hungering cold and gressil are 78.3 right off the sword before any stats.

Just plain ol' Raz

To the people saying how unreal this show is and how it don't match up with the game. IE human hunters..

You're the fat guy in the chair.
