So I got kinda inspired to do these as part of something for the new Raven Cross website. I'm pretty happy with how they came out, particularly the Forsaken. They're fairly easy to tweak, which means that I can go back to them and make character specific versions of each for people. I can even change the tabard if other people would like one of their character outside of RC.

No Allies though, because they r dum.

I was half tempted to give the female Blood Elf bigger boobs to make her look more... well, female.

DAMN THEIR CATWALK FEATURES.

You can't draw elves and then say you're not drawing allies because they are dumb.

to be a bit more constructive, your female undead and elf do not look very feminine.

cool shit though.

It's the jaw line.

I mean, I need to go back and redo the orc and tauren female and male (I was going for a "low detail" thing but then it just became too obvious that just different colors wasn't going to cut it). I need to try and find a way to make the female jaws less... defined. Which is hard when you're working with sharp-edged shapes.

And I will go through and do Alliance ones MAYBE. First I've gotta get these right. If there's a distinct interest in getting commissions for this sort of thing I'll do it. I can easily make them hold a weapon or wear class specific armor (minus the shoulders).

You know why there's no Alliance?

Because that's what they'll look like when you engage the "Eye-for-an-Eye" program.

If the male elves didn't look so feminine, the females might look more like a girl in contrast to the male! BUT BELVS ARE ALL WOMEN.

Tried rounding out some of the female heads, complicated up the Tauren and Orcs a bit more, made the Male Blood Elf look a bit less rotund and... well...

I put more definition into the boobs since that seems to be the best way to make them look female. >_>

I like the new changes.

I don't think the tauren female needs any fixes, its obvious by size comparison that its a female. But one tip though for the tauren male, try bringing up (or even making more bulky) the arms to the rather high shoulder/tabard on the top. Would help to give a more larger profile, without adding in more detail, to keep your 'low-key' detail theme going.

On the females (in general), maybe adding in a slight definition of hips would help? Thats another simple identifier for simple profiles. Doesn't even have to be curves, the triangle shape like you have for the breasts would work as well, but could be done smaller, as well to help accent that shape above too.

Also, this is a personal tip that helps me for these sort of projects: try saving the background white, and making all of the races complete black, so that you can focus on their profiles before messing with detail, that might help speed things along as well.

Try an acute drop into the neck. You know how the male orc has a riduculous(ly awesome) obtuse angle for a jawline? I wonder if the opposite of that would work for the females. Sort of a line that runs from the ears and just barely misses the corner of the mouths. \./

I guess one problem with this idea is that it would introduce shoulders in the female profiles.

Anyway, this is awesome.

I really like the rounded out female faces better, and I also think that they are absolutely adorable.

Does this mean we all need to get eye patches?

Adjusted the hips, gave the Troll Male a more defined nose, and bought in the Blood Elf Male's legs a little bit.

Nice, very nice. Tauren male doesn't look like he's a hunchback with scoliosis, and the female models look more female, as well as more streamlined. If you wanted to go in and make even more distinctive changes (and not saying you need to, just helping out at this point), but you could experiment with different mouth shapes for the males and females. I think the current shape works best for the males, maybe just switching the orientation and trying it on the females might help.

But seriously at the moment, I think the differences between the too are fine.

The only one ambiguous to me is the undead female - I'm not sure why though... Try wider hips? UD females tend to have that disgustingly emaciated hourglass thing going.

Very cute! I agree with Yat.. I think you probably could get away with just scaling the undead female's width by a third or so.

I tried giving the Forsaken Female those bony hips that they have. How's this?

A little too high, I think. They should sit beneath her belt to show hips. <_< They look sort of like muffin top there... Very cute by the way.

You could try jawless on the females..that way the faces would look rounder?

Chikt
04-14-2010, 12:25 AM
Added faint lips to the females (more pronounced ones on the Elves and Goblins). Gave the Goblin Females some eyeliner (since they do on the game models) and lowered the Female Forsaken's bone-hips as Feralmoon suggested.

The problem with that is that it broadens the shoulders. I'm pretty happy with their rounded jaws as is right now.

A suggestion to make the females more distinguished, if you're even looking to do more work, is perhaps add eyelashes. Like two per eye, maybe. For the races that obviously can't wear lipstick. XD

Adorable as fuck! You got the trolls dead-on, even if you used the pony-tail hair ; b

With the UD, I would suggest pulling in BOTH their waists (the males do as well, just not as pronounced) and also lower the female's hips so the top of the hip is even with the bottom of the belt (and maybe shorten that a bit then.) Also the BElf guy is just driving me NUTS-he's just too stocky. I know you want to keep them roughly proportionate and BElfs ARE detestable, but you've tried to keep the height and width ratio relatively the same on the rest. I think sucking them both in a bit would make them look less like they'd been packing in the twinkies and had then been thrown in the old Shatar hole in SMC so no one could see them.

BTW, is that Leo or Szo? ;3

Why do they all have the same number of fingers? Tauren and Trolls only have the thumb and two others.

It's not meant to be accurate.

Blood Elves also aren't as big as Tauren.

Adorable. xD

I think the bottom of the head/neck of the female forsaken, if shaped more like the female blood elf's head/neck area (the slightly turned-in-getting-smaller look) will give it a more 'female' look, rather than the straight less varied shape it is atm. It might draw more attention to the 'curves' of the figure that distinguish it as female.

RavenReverend

The eyelashes thing actually might work o.o They're simplistic enough that they'd show up. The forsaken woman's hips look good now :D No more muffin top, so she can do less side bends!

First: these are ridiculously adorable.

Second: I have an idea for how to make the females look more feminine. It's not the chest-- it's the waist. Right now, the chicks are shaped like Coke glasses. Cinch the waistlines a bit and then let the hemlines flare out--the classic hourglass.

I think that will do the trick.

They still need to put lab coats in World of Warcraft.
