So I was day dreaming in class (again) and I was thinkin about my dwarf hunter and I was thinking, if the dwarfs personality based of Irish/scotish culture wouldnt that mean that they would have a big family? (no racial stereotype intended)

So Im going out on a limb and copy Lysimachus's idea (sort of) and make a dwarven family. Right now im want to see who would all be gun ho before I do the concrete work.

Yes. It does make a lot of sense. Dwarves are a replicant of Scottish/Irish culture, so they are indeed entitlted to their own "clan" type structure. They already have different clans within the whole of their race;
IE:

Wildhammer Clan
Ironforge Clan
Dark Iron Clan

Such is completely possible, on a more familial level.

There are others, like the stormpike is its own clan that probably broke off from the bronzebeards.

And sounds awesome, since I need a 'bronzebeard' family member for Eoghan, a cousin or something.

All Dwarf guild is epic. I'll admit, I miss IFR, and really hope that Thorium Legion takes off.

However, if you go by the Lysimachus model, you don't tie the family roleplay to a guild, and instead just make it pure RP. It doesn't restrict you, and allows you to have an existence outside of your family.

*pout* I did so enjoy IFR when I first came to TN. Sifar was my second to join them and much fun was had.

But, back to the question, I certainly have a lass or four who could use some stronger family ties. Giselda's family is a strong network of crafters and might even lend itself to such an idea. If something more specific comes to fruition, please PM me. I think I would like to add to it.

Im going to go ahead and respond without reading any of the other posts besides the first one and say that i'd definitely be interested in this idea.

Though I'm convinced you don't much care for me or my opinions, I say let bygons be bygons.

I believe that a dwarven 'Family' wouldn't be the first word to roll off their tongues. Probably 'clan' or 'ancestry'.

But that isn't an issue, just an opinion. Here's another one: The idea is quite lovely and is likely to become a big success, especially after the Thorium Legion disbanded and there are.. 7 or so active dwarves looking for some RP goodness.

Me being one of them; I have a dwarven rogue by the name Sarilda and I've yet to develop her backstory much at all. So by all means count me in on this, but also feel free to continue your obsessive despision and state no.
